October 24, 200916 yr Falador Tavern is a potentially new sub-forum which will deal with any 'game' which is more serious than is allowed by Forum Games, but is less serious than is allowed by Falador Library. So, a game which exists within a living world created by users who are not that bothered about keeping strictly to game playing convention. For example Hegemony. If anyone has any questions or ideas then they should post them here. Please be aware that this is not somewhere to complain that such and such idea for a new forum has not been accepted, for topics like that you are better off taking them up with your local moderator or, better still, in Updates and Suggestions. If anyone wants to ask me a direct question then please feel free to PM me. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
October 24, 200916 yr Wasn't there some talk of removing the member system from Falador library as well?I mean, the place is practically dead, no offense.
October 24, 200916 yr Author We could do that, but Falador Library is the culmination of years of work by the hardcore roleplayers of way back when. It is a monument to all the suffering they had to endure in Varrock Library, in Off-Topic, in Forum Games with people posting comments, flaming and telling them to clear off to one of the other forums. Imagine that for the past five years you had been chased out of town where ever you tried to settle and then, last year, you had been given a plot of land, and on that land you had built a house and now the people who used to chase you have found you and are planning to demolish your house in favour of building a block of flats. In any case Rusco is a fairly successful roleplay of four people, and so it has not been a total failure and is not 'practically dead', and should anyone ever want to set up a roleplay in a protected forum then they can. It may be that in time Falador Tavern will show itself to be a bastion against the hoard of RPG haters, but until then we have a system that works, not terribly well, but it is a step up from not having a system that works... and I am sure you will agree that:If we spend what we have today, on the promise of getting something better tomorrow, when in fact we can have both and choose later, we are acting foolishly. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. October 24, 200916 yr Sounds like a good idea to me. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!
October 24, 200916 yr It sounds like a really good idea, as long as it is not going to degenerate into something as defunct as Falador Library (no offence). Anyway, I offer a suggestion and pose some questions: 1) It would really help Hegemony/Falador Tavern if a recruitment thread is stickied on Off-Topic. 2) How are moderators going to be selected for Falador Tavern? Will they be already-existing moderators that just volunteer to moderate the new subforum, or will new, local moderators be hand-picked? And if new moderators are hand-picked, will they be trusted, active players, or how will that work? SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.
October 24, 200916 yr I would feel out of place in the Library. Despite my name, I'm not all that hardcore of a role-player. And I can't picture any games outside of Hegemony being used for the subforum. Quote Quote Anyone who likes tacos is incapable of logic. Anyone who likes logic is incapable of tacos. October 24, 200916 yr Archimage, go for it. The FL and the VL both have waning activity and this might interest more people into joining the libraries.
October 24, 200916 yr It's basically a sub-forum for the hegemony?we r spechul. Vienna Raszyn Warsaw Klushino
October 24, 200916 yr Nope. One moment the moderators say that there is no room for any more subforums (Sports, Health and Fitness) and there just isn't enough need for a new sub forum when not many threads are made. Yet there is potentially going to be a sub forum just because of Hegemony. How many other games are too serious for Forum games? Is there dozens of topics floating around that would fit the Falador Tavern? I don't think so. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!

October 24, 200916 yr 2) How are moderators going to be selected for Falador Tavern? Will they be already-existing moderators that just volunteer to moderate the new subforum, or will new, local moderators be hand-picked? And if new moderators are hand-picked, will they be trusted, active players, or how will that work? No new moderators are being selected if that is what you are asking. October 24, 200916 yr 3? Quick they need a subforum! The point is that these new roleplaying threads don't fit properly in Falador Library yet don't belong in Off-Topic either and with a new subforum they would have a place where they will properly belong. In creating a new subforum won't ruin an already established forum that Archimage and others have spent a great deal of time developing and perfecting and we would like preserve that for those users. And again this is not a topic to discuss the future or possibility of other subforums. This is here to discuss the the possibility of Falador Tavern.
October 24, 200916 yr Author It sounds like a really good idea, as long as it is not going to degenerate into something as defunct as Falador Library (no offence). The first part is really up to you, just looking through the last few posts in the Hegemony, individual stories might just collapse under their own weight, but then again they might not. We really are just providing you with the foundations, it is up to you to build anything there. 1)I am sure a Falador Tavern sticky could be arranged, so long as it was a compromise 'Off topic is not the place for complex games(Mods) but there is a place that is and here are some of the games that it has running(Users)' 2)Well I am the only moderator at the moment. Creating local moderators is possible, as I have alluded to on the Hegemony thread, but they would be selected in a two stage process:First a thread, such as Hegemony, would elect a leader, someone who's decisions were de facto truth. Then that person would PM me and I would look at that person's posting record to try to work out if they were suitable for local moderation...If, for example, they frequently posted how they were going to delete everything, then I could not allow them to become a Moderator. If though they passed my check I would recommend them to an Administrator, who would probably look at their recent posts again, perhaps discuss it with the rest of the Admin and then make a decision. Once a local moderator had been created their responsibilities would not be enforcing Tip Its will on other threads, that is what I am here for, but maintaining stickies and such for the thread/s that they were elected to lead. They would not have ANY access to moderator tools outside of Falador Tavern and would need to be in regular contact with me to make sure that there were no spiraling problems. It's basically a sub-forum for the hegemony? You could say that, but Tip It doesn't. We are creating a sub-forum to fill a void in our ability to provide good service to our users. 3? Quick they need a subforum! Not really a question but I will try to answer it. We know Falador Library does not service the entire roleplaying community and these '3' threads are just the latest in a long line of threads which have been created and then died, littering the different forums they were created in like corpses left rotting in the streets as a warning to any future role-player 'This is what lies in store for you now scram!'We are not just continuing Tip It for our own benefit, we are trying to provide as good a ground for future members as possible and any idea that could be feasibly moderated and used is taken under consideration even if there has not been a great surge of activity for a number of weeks/months/years. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. October 24, 200916 yr Oh ok :P, will hawks still have his modly powers?I reckon someone from falador library should be a mod because... We don't want a Newbie to rping? Also, someone shouldn't get midship from simply owning the biggest thread, if someone owns the hegemony they shouldn't be able to touch someone elses thread with there modly powers. It should be decided on how responsible they are and there character
October 24, 200916 yr Author I am not sure about hawks, it is, again an Admin decision, but she has my full support. I don't think there has been much moderator interest for exactly that reason, so at the moment it is just me and provisionally hawkxs. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. October 24, 200916 yr Reposting because I'm not sure If you saw this: sorry, I can't paste on my mobile phone it's hard, can you read last post on page 1
October 24, 200916 yr Moderators of the new forum are decided by the Administration team. They will of course take all these factors into consideration, but you'll just have to wait and see what they decide. I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. I am an [Ex-Moderator].
October 24, 200916 yr Author Indeed, this is pretty much an administrative matter and one that can only be decided some weeks AFTER the forum is created. Further than having an idea of what it might be like we can't do anything more at this early stage. Once a local moderator had been created their responsibilities would not be enforcing Tip Its will on other threads, that is what I am here for, but maintaining stickies and such for the thread/s that they were elected to lead. They would not have ANY access to moderator tools outside of Falador Tavern and would need to be in regular contact with me to make sure that there were no spiraling problems. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. October 24, 200916 yr if all they need to do is maintain stickys there is no need for them to have modly powers.
