The best way to make money

Featured Replies

I am not very sure if threads like this are allowed here, but I'll still try.

My skills are pretty low compared to most people. My highest skill is fishing 69, but this has gotten boring for money making (lobs) lately.

I am wondering if I am actually missing an incredible money maker. So please take a look at my stats and tell me what should I do to earn some solid cash...

My stats are in my signature, if you don't like this, tell me and I'll take a pic ingame and put it here.

Green drags might be an option for you. The bones are over 3k, and the hides are around 1.7k atm. If you want to give it a shot feel free to give me a pm in game sometime and I can take you.

My Blog!

Also make sure you do MTK if you can, its basicly like a free 1 mil every week. And keep in mind that you could make a few hundred k a week (of not more) by doing some light merchanting.

slayer is one of the most profitable skills in the game! If you say that slayer is bad for making money why not take a look at Abyssal demons, Dark beasts, Aquanites, Gargoyles, and spiritual mages. Plus you get loads of experience.

You have 70 slayer.

I have 94 slayer.

I think I know what I'm talking about.

Yes, but he doesn't have 75+ Slayer, and to get that would take quite a while. Why don't you look at his stats and tell him what is viable now or with a little work.

If you got Runecrafting up 10 levels or so you could craft Nature runes via the Abyss. Or you could do Green Dragons, too.

Yes those are all monsters that have 1 decent drop. And that drop is somewhat rare.

It does make profit, but that's not until higher levels. Combat and slayer alike. In 2 years of slaying i have made about 100m. If i spent that time at GWD or Avisansies or Green Dragons, i would have more then that.

Slayer is the decent things of all the greater ones. Its decent profit, decent exp, decent charms (imo). And its also relatively cheap to start slaying.

Agreed. I love slayer, but pure slayer is terrible gp/hour. Camping will always beat pure slayer. Still, it is worth getting to at least 85 IMO.

Well, remember to day your tasks. Buy battlestaves, do herb runs, etc.

If you can, green dragons are anywhere from decent to awesome cash. If you want to range, and can use ogre enclave, ranging blues is decent, although less gp.

Thank you people, I think I should consider green dragons. Can they be meleed without problems or do I need a lot of pray and antifire pots?

I don't like ranged too much, but if you suggest it, i can also consider that.

Green dragons are easy. They're level 83, and you will not need ANY pray or antifire pots. None. There are a few spots to use for them:

Chaos Tunnels, which I have no experience with.

Far western Wilderness, too far away from bank and no safespots, not worth it.

Spot east of Clan Wars. This is the most popular spot. You'll need: Your armor/weapon, of course. Use the best you can, in your case I assume it's rune, Helm of Neit/Fremmenik helm, d long/scimmy and whatever assorted other stuff. Abby whip is of course the best way to deal with greens, but I doubt you have that.

You'll also need some Game Necklaces and food. I usually use Tuna/Lobsters, although at your stats Swordies/Monks might just be better. I usually take around 5-10 pieces of food. As for the Necklaces, you use them to teleport to Clan Wars, run east to the dragon spot, fill your inventory with goodies (Most prominent being Dragonhides, dragon bones, and occasional clue scrolls.) and then teleport to Wilderness Volcano. Bank, and repeat.

Herb droppers are good atm since you low stats there pretty good gp/hour compared to others.

On the slayer topic, its a very hit and miss skill.

I've had very hit and miss drops.

Out of about 120 wyren's I've not had a single 10k+ drop, yet on my current task of spectors out of 2 trips (about 20 to 30 kills per trip) I'm over 300k in pure profit (2 snaps, 1 rune full helm, 1 mystic bottoms, 2 lava staffs and the standard herb drops) with 110ish left to go.

First of all, do Monkey Madness if you can to get the d scimmy if you haven't already. Otherwise, stick with the d long.

As for equipment:

Helm: Try to do Fremmy Trials/Isles too get the neit helm. In most cases the neit helm is better than the d med.

Necklace: You should consider the chaos tunnels as they're a bit less crowded and there are no revs. In going to the chaos tunnels, you forgo the need for a games necklace which frees up a spot and you get to keep the glory which can be used for CB.

Legs: I don't know about you, but I'd sell the d legs and buy a skirt. It's cheaper and lighter. But if you really care about looks...

Shield: DFS if you can  But anti-dragon shield will suffice.

To speed up kills a bit, consider bringing a 2-dose combat potion along for the trip.

For food, a few salmon will probably suffice, no more than 5.

The best way to make money is probably to be a merchant. I recommend having 1 mil and lots of things to do while merchanting. Browse the runescape GE to find a good item. The items im about to merchant(as soon as the price starts to go up) are death runes. Also try rune sets. Try dumping about 1000- 2000 runes or 2-3 sets. Remember to sell if things are going bad.Better some than none.

But of course during merchanting times, go to the green drags and slice and dice a few or go to the local fishing guild and fish lobbies. When the trade is processed(at the lowest price you can see of course), just train or whatever and wait a few more days for the price to climb back up. Then dump ALL the items you bought for merchanting and get about 100k profit + whatever you did in between the merchanting times.

It takes many people to construct a weapon of mass destruction, but only 1 idiot to use it.

Pretty much the same than stock marketing?

Rune merchanting is an option, but I've always prefered armor merchanting.

Also if you just really try and focus on making money by using some of the methods mentioned in this thread, you'll be rich in no time.

You could farm spirit weeds + marigolds or limpwurts, eventually sweetcorn/potato (if can bother for the very long extra time it takes) for some quick and easy money while *passing by*.

Farming the best money making skill that can be counted as gathering skill. That's some easy money and will give still decent xp at your farm level.

And do then whatever you like in beetween runs to make money. Don't just go green drags cause most people told you so... Maybe it will take allmost an hour to get you full inventory. i didn't say it will but explore what you can realisticly do with your levels that you may enjoy and will bring decent cash. Pe with your slayer you can kill cave crawlers, dropping a lot herbs and seconds, you can with some super antipoisons go there, train your own herby for cheap and sell what you can't use.

Merchanting i dunno much about but with my own experience there are many items one can buy with time at min and then sell at max.

If I buy herb seeds from GE, will they sell for more after I have grown them?

Generally yes, unless you're really unlucky and all your patches die or something crazy like that.

Depending on herb prices at the moment, with the recent herblore update you could try chaos druids.

Why can't the Big Bang be done by the hand of God?

It could have, but it is next to impossible because it also could have been caused by the flying spaghetti monster, or one of the other infinite number of deity possibilities.

Spirit weed seed Spirit weed seed 308 -1 Members' item Maximum relevance

Clean spirit weed Clean spirit weed 2,731 +80 Members' item Maximum relevance

Grimy spirit weed Grimy spirit weed 2,658 0 Members' item Maximum relevance

this is from GE database right now. and spirit weeds may somehow be hard to sell at times but they do. move to toadflax at next farm level.

Cannonballs would be good money at your level.

There is no way to make "Millions fast and easy"...
