Neglexis
Hey all :) As I will be taking a break for a few months, I was wondering what items I should best invest in.Items that will inflate the most so that, when I come back, I'll have a nice increased amount of money :) I know most people will think about Rares at first, but first of all, these aren't really liquid enough and, as read in the rares topic, are bound to crash any time soon...Also, this is more concerning items that are not rare (thinking of godswords, gwd armour pieces and so on) I'm putting this in General because I feel that this gives enough of material for a good discussion, because I'm sure there are a lot of different views concerning this subject. If a mod feels different about this, feel free to move it :) So, what are your views? Are you into DnB or Dubstep? Master_Smither
The inflation will most likely not carry on for very long, as Jagex will most likely put a money drain into the economy soon. So investing in an inflating item will probably not be the best idea. I'd suggest just keeping the cash pile right now. SanNo1
In the long run, higher lvl items such as godswords and gwd armour pieces usually go down. The cheapen rares such as santa's will most likely rise, but i think that your best bet would be some high-end raw materials, such as dragon bones. These items are bound to go up given enough time, which makes them great long-term investments. There are three sides to every story: There's one side, there's the other, and there's the truth. Toad
Balloons. It's impossible to tell really, items are so unstable and what you but that could be desired one day could be crashing the next.

gremmy
I'm not into investing/predicting, so I'll go the logic way: 3a, spirit shields, godswords, barrows - all of these will increase in amount in the time you're gone. Rares - there will only be less. I'd go for a rare or two. Dragon drops: 82 (2 claws)Dagannoth kings drops: 73Barrows item count: 51GWD drops: 54 (5 hilts: 1x bandos, 3x saradomin, 1x zamorak)Whips: 4Sigils: 1x spectral (FFA), 1x arcane (FFA)
Danqazmlp
Moving to Help&Advice as its more of a question than a discussion imo, (sorry steiner). The Phat and SS discussion is a good place to discuss items inflating and prices. Want to be my friend? Bladewing
I'd buy Dragon Bones, just in case. Seeing as their value is limited by the number of green dragon spots available, they seem to be a pretty good store of value. If inflation continues, they will continue to inflate; if inflation stops, they will probably stay the same or even increase in value. Ezz
Dragon bones are a good idea. There is a prayer update coming out sometime soon as well which might make the demand for prayer higher. [insert birds flying in a circle here]Yes, that sig was annoying.

1230abcz
I'd try to get my hands on some bones, cheap rares (santas/masks), or some underpriced raws. Even normal stuff, like rune items, will go up in price as long as there's inflation. Investing in stuff like that ensures that your money at least keeps its current value to some degree. All that I've seen is that JaGeX is going to update prayer, we don't know if that means different, less expensive hopefully, ways to train it, more higher leveled prayers or both. http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww6/aspeeder/Siggy_zpsewaiux2t.png 99 Strength since 6/02/10 99 Attack since 9/19/10 99 Constitution since 10/03/10 99 Defense since 3/14/11 99 Slayer since 8/30/11 99 Summoning since 9/10/11 99 Ranged since 09/18/11 99 Magic since 11/12/11 99 Prayer since 11/15/11 99 Herblore since 3/29/12 99 Firemaking since 5/15/12 99 Smithing since 10/04/12 99 Crafting since 9/16/13 99 Agility since 9/23/13 99 Dungeoneering since 1/1/14 99 Fishing since 2/4/14 99 Mining since 2/28/14 99 Farming since 6/04/14 99 Cooking since 6/11/14 99 Runecrafting since 10/10/14 9 Fletching since 11/11/14 99 Thieving since 11/14/14 99 Woodcutting since 11/20/14 99 Construction since 12/03/14 99 Divination since 2/22/15 99 Hunter since 2/23/15 99 Invention since 01/20/17 99 Archaeology since 5/14/22 99 Necromancy since 11/22/25 Quest Point Cape since 08/20/09 Maxed since 2/23/15 Fire Cape since 02/27/13 Slayer: 3 Leaf-Bladed Swords, 8 Black Masks, 2 Hexcrests, 26 Granite Mauls, 5 Focus Sights, 33 Abyssal Whips, 9 Dark Bows, 1 Whip Vine, 3 Staffs of Light, 15 Polypore Sticks Dragon: 10 Draconic Visages, 7 Shield Left Halves, 20 Dragon Boots, 40 Dragon Med Helms, 8 Dragon Platelegs, 6 Dragon Spears, 20 Dragon Daggers, 5 Dragon Plateskirts, 1 Dragon Chainbody, 63 Off-hand Dragon Throwing Axes, 19 Dragon Longswords, 27 Dragon Maces, 1 Dragon Ward Treasure Trails: Saradomin Full Helm, Ranger Boots, Rune Body (t), Saradomin Vambraces, Various God Pages Misc:1 Onyx,1 Ahrim's Hood, 1 Guthan's Chainskirt, 1 Demon Slayer Boots

However if they simply make more high level benefits then Bones will increase in price. Its just speculation.
