Yes I do buy songs from iTunes... but not much.

I'll get the occassioanal "Song of the Week" for free and Charity Singles but when it comes to albums its really not that much cheaper than from some online stores and when you buy a CD you actually physically get something for your money rather than virtual music

I've had my Ipod about 3 weeks now, and so far i have 1476 songs on it purely from my own cd's, and friends and family's. I might buy some off iTunes when i want the odd song, but if i want a cd, often i'll just buy it from a shop.

I have yet to do so. I don't plan on it; if I can, as Mercifull said, get an actual CD, then that's what I'd do. If there's something I can't find anywhere else -- as unlikely as that would be, then I'd have nothing against using iTunes to get it, I suppose.

I don't have an I-pod, but I don't think I would use it, since I rather pay for a CD and then put it on my I-pod than pay to download it.

If I can't get a song form anywhere else then I will. Sometimes it's not worth buying an whole album just for one song. I wont buy albums from itunes because I work at a music store so get a tasty discount :D

Mmm maybe, I guess it depends on the band. Most mainstream artists are controlled by the record companies so you might get one or two good songs on a 12 track record. The bands I am in to are of much better quality and you really need to get the whole album. It tells a story, its a window into the mind of the lyricist.

Only bought 1 CD because I had that free $15 Itunes gift card. The rest of my music is either from CD's or downloaded music.

Yeh, the 2 CDs were Linkin park - Hybrid theory (which I made from downloaded songs lol) and the other is Linkin Park , jay z which had about 8 tracks I think?

Yeah. Certain albums, especially older ones that were issued on vinyl originally have a sort of flow to it, and when they were re-released on CD they kept the cross-faded songs. As such, many of my tracks contain the end and beginning of the songs before and after them, especially Boston's albums, which you have to have in a whole, because they often revolve around a theme (space, life, etc.).

Nowadays the only album I've seen that's remotely close to a concept album/rock opera is American Idiot, which blows, and it's really too bad. And while I'm on a roll, it seems that it's impossible to make good music today. Gone is prog rock, and there is no innovation; the majority of today's singers (most notably punk) sound the same, and have very similar guitar riffs. I haven't really heard an addictive foot-stompin' song in recent years (that was made recently).

Anyways, I don't use iTunes. It's virtually the same price, if not more expensive than buying a CD, especially iTunes is $.99 per song, and I can get a 15-track Def Leppard CD for $10 from the department store. Or, I just use http://mp3search.ru to get my music. Before everyone starts screaming at me for posting an illegal link, read this, which clearly cites US (I dunno about UK, etc.) laws and articles that clearly dictate and imply mp3search's legality.

handed me TWO tissues to clear up. I was like "i'm going to need a few more paper towels than that luv"

I do buy some songs off iTunes. Me, I'm a follower (not fan) of Green Day and it's nice to get some songs that aren't on CD's. For instance, the songs "Shoplifter" and "Governator" are B-Sides from American Idiot. I had to get them from iTunes because obviously I can't use the vinyl version and put it into my iPod. iTunes also has the songs on the singles. So like the single for "Holiday" had "Minority live edition" on it. But other than that I wouldn't buy an album because I'd much rather have the booklet with the art and lyrics and stuff.

Yep certainly does depend. But my point was if I find a group that is capable of producing an album of all good songs then with my discount it's cheaper for me to buy in my work place (omg you know you love hmv really!!) than use itunes :)

There's a lot of good old songs out there that are the onyl shining light on an album, for example I love the song 'fast car' by Tracy Chapman. However I think the rest of the album sucks! I'd rather pay 79p for that one song than ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã4 for the album!

Never have and I don't plan on it. I'd consider if they actually had good music on there. The problem is that they'll put on songs that get the most downloads which in most cases is the crap played on mtv. Sure, it works, but it keeps me from finding what I want on there.

I've bought 70% (approx.) of my songs in iTunes and 30% (approx.) are from CDs of mine.

Currently have 3, 567 songs...do the math :o
