There needs to be moderation of some kind, or else the game will turn to crap, with people saying "I build 10,000 mechanized dolphins with underwater flamethrowers in exactly 1 day and for no cost whatsoever".

Well we went through the first 300 or so pages of hegemony without moderators, and that was like the best time of the game. War judges or whatever are fine.

So I'm assuming we're mainly doing a RP moderation system? I could be the war judge fella. Someone would have to autopilot Japan for me though.

It depends on whose involved in the combat. Obviously the person you're fighting against can't be war judge as well, and vice versa.

We'll work it out like that. Like Doom said, the beginning parts of the Hegemony were the funnest.

Well I'm assuming the person who is autopiloting Japan for me would be isolationist. If anyone tries to attack Japan or vice versa, mysterious steampunk activities cause violent storms which delay the attacks indefinitely.

Well, I have to go finish my homework (essay due tomorrow, ah!).

Anyways, gl with whatever you decide. Vote Retech for moderator. It'll be way cool

I'm also a very flimsy person when my own self interest isn't at stake, so it would be just like the old old hegemony, except eventually there'd be a final decision.

Me is Japan. Even though it is steam punk, may I still be alien? :D

I am not 'back' I am still taking a break and will probably have a week off from heavy roleplay, but I don't mind throwing together some basic things.

No to floating contients, they would just epically screw up the game 'I fly my contient into yours' 'then it blows up' 'no your contient blows up' ect ect.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Well perhaps you could construct floating continents that didn't move above existing land?

Look. If people want to build massive amounts of propellers and float a large amount of land then fine. Just don't come crying when it crashes to the ground because a bird flew into a propeller....

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Archi, what does the United States of Britain control? I call dibs on that by the way.

Since there isn't much history about Japan, may I write history about Japan? Also, it seems that no one want to be China. Perhaps it could be a group of warring states?

Alrighty, but I was going to invade China if no one took it. Anyways Grim, I suggest that you take China instead of Malaysia. I'll be making a play on those Pacific islands and I'll assure you, amphibious aliens with steam punk technology rule.

History of the USSRJ (United Soviet Socialist Republics of Japan):

Japan evolved from its ancient roots to become an isolationist nation with little care in the world. It's defences were top-notch, though their people were docile. After all, who could possibly attack them? Then it all changed. In the mid-1800s, an alien invasion force came out of the sea and toppled the government, sending people fleeing. Where had this force come from?

Space. Thousands of years ago, a Lichten spaceship exploded, leaving few survivors. The ones that remained gave birth to spawn before they died. The spawn lived in the depths of the ocean, slowly regaining knowledge once lost. However, their technology was far different from Lichtes technology of old. This was unique technology only found on this world. Eventually, after regaining enough of their strength, they invaded Japan to begin a new empire.

Today, in the 1900s, the nation is ruled by a mysterious sovereign. No one knows her name, but she is ready to emerge on the world stage, with ambitions in mind. Control of islands in the Pacific is her objective, though she favors peace over war. Who knows how it will all play out?

Being an amphibious species, the Lichtes specialize in... well amphibious technology. They lack airships, but their steam-propelled submarines are some of the largest in the world.

I want a stationary floating continent (I'd say that nobody is allowed to create mobile floating continents, and that stationary continents cannot simply be knocked out of the sky) above where Canada is. Imagine that a large chunk of land was ripped out of the centre of Canada and hovers above the large sea which was left below it. It shall be called the island nation of Sigma.

The people are a mix of all the other races in the game, and most of them are involved in crime in one way or another. Mainly piracy. The pirates which inhabit the nation have a strict code of honour though, which is what keeps the peace in a large island full of theives.

Being an island nation, their main focus is on airships, with a small land based military and almost no naval presence, save for a few ships in the sea below Sigma.

Is everything there alright?

What's your special airship design? I think it would be cool if everyone had a unique warship.

I think I'll actually draw it in real life and then scan it.

I'm in the mood to draw something at the moment anyway.

The canadians got bored and decided they wanted a floating continent to demonstrate their engineering prowess to the rest of the world. Afterwards, it was taken over by a surprisingly organised group of sky pirates lead by the pirate king Balthazar Firehammer. After a long and bloody struggle, the Canadians gave up trying to get it back, and it declared itself to be an independant country. After a shaky start with Canada, the two soon managed to patch things up with Sigma offering to pay Canada for the land as well as relocating all of the Canadian citizens on the island.

Probably. Shall we just develop some ideas and then we can pick out of them. Rather than me saying yeah and everyone creating stupidly powerful things
