Hello,

 

Since last update I heard many, many rumours onyx is from now on a drop from Tzhaar monsters. I didn't believe it, but when I checked tip.it, it actually confirmed it's a drop from tzhaar monsters. Is it really true? I don't see any confirmed drop on the RS forums, nor on this forum.

I've killed many, though never ever had such a drop.

Hence it is a RARE drop.

Tzhaars have never dropped onyx before, I'm not sure whether Jagex added them with this update though.

I'm quite sure only kalphite queen and dusties drop dragon chain, are you sure you got a d chain over there :x?

If you mean onyx bolt tips, then yes, they have always dropped them. If you mean uncut onyx, well, that would be new and good news as it would drop fury prices alot, though i doubt jagex would add that to their drop list

Tzhaar-Ket drops Onyx Bolt Tips. No other monster is higher level than Ket and he doesn't drop Uncut Onyx. So I wouldn't think so.

Yea, I meant onyx gem and not onyx bolt tips. I also thought it was strange, though at RS wiki, it's removed already from the article. At tip.it, it hasn't - yet.

Which some people might be thinking its a new drop, and not that you get tokkul which can be used to buy the gem. They forgot the tokkul part and just assume they drop the gems.

Ok lol. I read that thing like 5 times before I posted, I even read it while I copy pasted it and I still seem to have missed the tokkul part and I seem to have read Onyx. Sorry :x !

Onyx has been on Tip.it's drop list for all obby monsters for as long as I can remember.

I've never seen one as a drop nor heard of it as a drop in all my time playing (pre summoning my main money source was obby monster drops which says a fair bit).

 

Its one of those things, someone must have got it originally or it wouldn't have been on there, its highly unlikely it was removed. So we must trust the crew and submitters.

 

Similar to some of the rarer drops, they could be as little as 1 in 15k (or higher) so without someone proves the idea wrong. I still behind it being a possible drop pre this update.

I'm pretty sure uncut onyx has always been a tzhaar drop, but with extremely small drop rate (maybe same as a d chain from a dust devil? who knows).

If you use the wayback machine you'll see most of them had it as uncut onyx at one stage or another.

Yes, why do you think they were removed? Because there wasn't any evidence for them dropping them.
