World Record Held by Runescape Player

Featured Replies

Here is the link: http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/plugged-in/guinness-reveals-gaming-s-most-recognizable-character/1383766

It also lists the world record for the longest time spent playing a massively-multiplayer online game: Sara Lhadi, who spent the equivalent of 700 days playing Runescape between November '04 and October '09. That works out to over 9 hours a day. Now that's commitment...or insanity. Or both. Probably both.

Rather amazing I would say.. What was this persons Runescape name?

Why isn't this account listed? What with Zezima retired, the noobs need a new famous player to spam.

It's not Zarfot. She's a friend, and as her name's not mentioned there I won't mention it, either.

Congratulations to her though

JaGeX: How much will you pay?

Hasn't Jagex already stated that the person with the highest amount of time spent on F2P was at 17,000 hours. Her name is Diamond something I think. If that's true, then there is a possibility that is our winner.

Her - and the play time, Twiley - most likely Jagex.

So it was s diamant y

It is s diamant since she is maxed in pure ftp and also has a 200m stat which takes way longer than gert's xp

As in TIF Twiley? 'cause I know Lady-eh isn't THAT addictive.

OT: I feel sorry for whoever it is, 9 hours a day? think of the money they earned if it they replaced that with work, online surveys etc.

I was replying to Twiley.

RIP Michaelangelopolous

I'm actually surprised that it's such a low number. I'd expect it to be at least 1000. I've spent 515 days myself(average of 7 hours per day), and I could have easily played for a lot more.

The record-holder's username was probably left out intentionally, and I'm sure he/she wouldn't appreciate the attitude held by most of the people who've posted here. If it is Villandra, by the way, then all of you need to lay off. She's a kind person from what I've seen of her, and, according to this interview, she had a serious health condition which left her "confined to bed for 4+ years". So, no matter who it might be, drop the snide implications that he/she is a "no-life"; there may very well be circumstances you're not aware of.

Thing is Rien, Jagex themselves have, in an interview in the past, said one of their top F2P players has amassed about 17,000 hours, and even went on to name said player, S Diamant Y.

Now, let's use simple math to work this out.

Taking 17,000 as our number to work with.

17,000/24 = 708.333(repeating).

708 days, 8 hours. Now, consider this article was months ago, the time is likely to have increased since then.

I don't pretend to know who it is, as that's not my point at all. I simply find posts like these disgusting:

No one should be judging someone they can't possibly know, and I was using Villandra's situation as an example for why that's wrong.

im sure a lineage player could top this i don't believe a RS player owns the title. The Koreans take these games to the next level, we are all noobs compared to them.

It dosent even matter, i knew people back in everquest like 6 years ago that had well over 400 days played. That 700 days is nothing.

Fools_Taco.png

Yeah, I agree with you there.

Unfortunately, we're on a fan-site's forum on the internet. These people will, of course, say such things whilst enjoying the fact there are no repercussions. I find it more disgusting that Jagex would release this information in the past. I'm sure this player did not appreciate her username and playing time posted where people could see.

Of course, with the World Record's, it's a different matter. However, Jagex's release of this information in the past seems like a major slip-up on their behalf. In fact, the only thing they did right then was not release since when this player has played, which would of course, bring up a better view of their, for lack of a better word, addiction. We would likely assume this player joined near the beginning, and therefore work the calculations from there, bringing it to less hours per day.

Of course, with this information now easily available, people can work out, or rather it has been worked out, that this player has a high daily time.

Though we could actually factor in that this player may have had a situation like Villandra, and, whilst I am at it, we could also consider different situations and find that a portion of it was concentrated out of a bad situation.

But, we don't have any of this information, nor do we have to means to prove it. So, unfortunately, these people and their comments will continue. It's a pitiful that people here would resort to that. You guys are really helping show this is a "mature" community.

Everyone judges everything. That's human nature. Some are just more honest about it than others.

And when things go to extremes, they get judged even more.

Sure, there could be extenuating circumstances that make averaging that number of hours per day of gameplay reasonable. But in most cases, it indicates a serious lack of balance in an individual's life.
