I have not intention of buying up all of them... just enough to mostly alleviate the stress (Military projects are being frozen...) so that would be a couple tens of billion a year (also it's not my fault you chose a country after I stated that I was invading)

Also it doesn't really matter, I have enough to screw over the EU for the next 5 years by undercutting their prices, thus destroying farms, wineries and such which depend on the the EU buying their ridiculous surplus(And will now lose their markets entirely). Causing prices to crash, meaning they default, meaning the banks stop getting money, meaning Europe's economy goes from slightly recovering to rapidly declining. Especially countries like France, Germany and Italy, who have in-ordinate amounts of farmers. Britiain on the other hand is not really hit, since it doesn't produce anything...Though European taxation will increate due to the need to keep farmers, dairy and similar, afloat.

So either the economies fail or there are massive tax hikes. Or some random thing I haven't thought of.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

You're right Ross, I'm back already. :P

I'm just concerned with the fact that Archi is (in my opinion) still holding a power greater than that of an average player. For example this crazy market manipulation scheme against the EU, which probaly won't work (I say probaly, because I'm sure none of us is better than existing market minds)

So basically what happened is that I am on my way of controlling Indonesia and Singapore, while Rocco is on his way to controlling Malaysia. Is that basically what was decided?

----------

Oh yah, that reminds me. Couldn't the EU just embargo you and basically shut you out of their economy?

The UK government has told the immigrants to go home. The English are tired of becoming a minority in their own land.

The UK is finally on its path to nationalism, just like the US.

Germany moves for an embargo with the E.U. on switzerland stating that they are trying to ruin our way of life and that they must be stopped at all cost's (invading you right now is looking really tempting). With the current situation most of the E.U. has started a trade embargo on switzerland.

LNYvk.png

Retech: Its simple economics. Europe is full of people who overproduce. This over production should shut the farms and such down...but instead the EU buys all the surplus to keep prices stable, taxing citizens for this service. What I have done is used Switzerland's Gold Reserve, which is larger than the EUs I might add, to buy this surplus and then undercut the market by selling cheaper....Thus, unless the EU, and, by extention, Germany, buys the surplus, the over productive farmers and such will go out of business.

So the EU is forced to chose between losing its producers...or taxing the eyeballs out of people.

(Dusty, join EFTA...We have lots of goods to sell you at low low prices...and in two years...hell its tommrow....we have a better trading dynamic than the EU)

I'm just trying to remind everyone that Japan does have a standing army in 2009 of 150,000 to 250,000 active soldiers (depending on the count). So really, it's not that it needs to militarise, since it's already technologically matched with European countries.

(What is the EFTA?)

(archi most of your trade comes from the E.U. so an embargo would make your own country take a large hit on it's GDP)

Grim, Japan is interested in buying some of the surplus if you're interested.

Grim-

Interesting plan.

The EU loses 5% of its imports and over 100 bilateral trade agreements. Specifically cutting Europe's supply of chemicals and medicinal products, machinery, instruments and of course watches. As well as 67 Billion Euros per year.

Switzerland gains 19.8 Billion a year in trade deficit, which should cover some of the loses from the scheme.

Switzerland continues to sell low to any country willing to ignore the EU.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Archi, what kind of products are being sold and at what price?

----

To Grim, you could just prevent Switzerland from purchasing the surplus in the first place.

EFTA is the European Free Trade Association. It currently contains only Switzerland, Norway(Scandinavia) and Liechtenstien. Though looks set to grow larger.

Japan would have to invest a significant portion of its Gold Reserves...I have invested 800 Tonnes of Gold in the scheme so....

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

(Archi Switzerland also looses approximately 100 billion dollars in lost trade...) The E.U. sets up trade agreements directly with the producers of said products.

EDIT: You will also [bleep] over your own farmers with this scheme you do realize that...

LNYvk.png

I was reffering to Japanese investors, which could purchase products and sell them to the Japanese people. After all, Japan does import about half of its caloric needs.

Retech:

No he can't, it happened yesterday and would basically split the EU even faster than before...since me buying the goods is effectively giving everyonr a tax break of approximately 2%.

I am selling Butter, Milk, Wine, Beef, Pork, Grains of all types....Food essentials.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Well he has to be given time to respond to it, regardless if it was yesterday or not. After all, I claimed to have taken Malaysia when it never actually happened. How much of a discount would beef from you be than beef from the EU. Do you think it's possible to go any cheaper than American beef?

Switzerland is a very important partner of the EU for trade in services, in particular commercial services are considerable. In 2008 the EU's export totalled 67.0 billion, imports from Switzerland 47.2 billion. The balance between Switzerland and the EU was in favour of the latter.

On balance Switzerland gains 20 Billion Euros, it loses nothing.

You can't buy goods from a country you have embargoed....Otherwise I could just set up companies and sell the goods like that....which would undercut you significantly.

Switzerland consumes most of the food it produces...and we have Gold reserves enough to absorb the surplus our farmers may produce.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Retech I can only sell to members of EFTA, otherwise the scheme kinda falls flat on its face. If things go pearshaped I will give you first dibs.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I don't think that I've embargoed you Archi. Or are you talking to Grim?

---

Anyways, a trade deficit doesn't mean that the government loses money. So essentially the people of Switzerland "gain 20 billion", though they still need to buy the products they were getting in the first place. The government doesn't recoup anything.

---

Oh, well good luck destroying the European economy. -Sarcasm-

Yes you cannot buy goods from a country you have embargoed so it works both ways... your major trading partners are all in the E.U. and if they started an embargo you would loose 1/2 of your money from trade (which would ammount to 100 billion lost).

LNYvk.png

Grim...

EU's export totalled 67.0 billion[To Switzerland]

I gain 20 Billion a year due to not having a trade deficit.

Its like saying I have 5 apples and the EU has 2 apples. We trade so I have 2 Apples and the EU has 5 Apples.

The EU then refuses to buy my apples. Thus I have 5 apples and the EU has 2.

It is to my benefit not to trade with the EU....It is to your failing to not trade with me.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
