I have no problem with you developing the same technology, at the same time scale...you build all the facilities that Switzerland had, as well as training up all the personal and writing out the concept and fine... Until then you cannot just steal my technology because you want it.

Also, Doom....The Nazis built, tested and deployed rockets jets in only a few years... Just because America took tens of years to develop an air craft doesn't mean all weapons take years to develop...

Their rockets were essentially just a tube with fuel and some explosives at the tip. And they didn't go very far. Or come anywhere near breaking orbit.

 

Retech I have a question (again) do you have any qualms on switching to the argent which would be the currency of FETA? I am mainly doing this because it would give the world another stable currency for investment. Also I have been building tanks/ other screaming death machines for quite some time now. Finally Icu I do not think that railguns will be used as infantry weapons this round as they have rather large recoil. (Note to Archi: What makes you think other nations don't have a space program they are simply not reporting upon?)

You wouldn't have built that many unless you've completely nationalized your manufacturing industry. In which case, you'd probably be spending most of your money trying to stop mass protests.

 

Well, Retech, since my planes are based on Physics, not just randomly inventing crap because someone else has it and I don't understand it, your planes would probably take 10-20 years...since you have no idea what the P-Jet actually is...

 

Also Japan doesn't have any of the original materials, such as the expertise in miniaturisation, to speed the construction of the Engine...So, realistically, you are looking at 10 odd years for the development of the grossly inefficent engine, another five to minaturise it, another three(since you now have some expertise) to refine the design to something that is flight worthy, then probably two years to get to where I am now....

Or he could just contract me to do it in the same time it took you, since most of your high-tech industries left and set up in the SR.

No way you're average gdp is 125,000. Even if you just controlled Norway, that'd be a 150% increase. (I'm talking about Purchasing Power Parity, not Nominal). If we're talking about nominal, that's a 300% increase for sweden, and around a 60% increase for norway, and a 300% increase for Finland as well. Also, most people wouldn't stand for 45% tax.

Also, your gdp went from roughly 1 trillion to over 3.2 trillion. That means an 8% increase per year, and considering we were yelling at retech over 5%...

I think he did it in Krone, so the average income is somewhere around 25,000.

Retech...simply because here is a feasible, calculated technology which has preset limits. Its not like I just said 'I am building a super aircraft and that is that.' I actually worked out the limits and have told Sere the limits as well as sent all the calculations I have done to him, so if I suddenly declare that one of the P-Jets has arrived at Alpha Centari he can look at the figures and go 'ummm no.'

 

People doing what you are doing and just automagically creating technology with no understanding of how it works screwed the game up last time because people were just declaring uber weapons.

So basically the country of Switzerland spent 60 billion dollars on these things...well 60 billion dollars worth.

Archi, my whole point is that I am not a brilliant engineer. I don't know how you build an aircraft. I don't know how missles work on the inside. Your examples are of things that real world scientists have not, or cannot develop. I am not a scientist, but if Switzerland can somehow create a space shuttle which is powerful enough to take on a multi-purpose role, which I find implausible in the first place, then Japan should be able to as well.

 

Japan proposes that the SR and it collaborate on the development of two P-Jets. The standard one which is multi-purpose, and a second one which is shorter ranged and is mainly used for interception.

Ah yes, the SR and Japan are now working on PJets.

Generally, if you can't get the research, and you see it, you should only be able to take a bit of time off your research, thats the design phase. All the other phases still count. I side with Archi, you can't just take tech if you see it. Though you can steal it if you shoot one of em down.

Retech, I don't know what I can really say... Switzerland has numerous advantages in building the P-Jet....In a similar way to how Germany had numerous advantages in building the rocket and the USA had numerous advantages in building the Atom bomb.

Icu, this isn't about just taking the tech. Archi doesn't even want me to take the same amount of time he did to build it. He says that it should take me twenty years, when it took him like three.

 

That is my issue.
