The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)

Featured Replies

One hydro electric plant and three nuclear plants have been finished. The energy from these will go to mostly creating hydrogen for fuel cells. All cities over 90,000 people now are solar-ized, causing near 100% green energy to power almost everything.

We are looking into solutions for the rising problem of nuclear waste. Brazil also starts building a prototype space elevator, around 1 mile long, out of newly completed nanofiber tech based materials.

We propose an area on the moon be put aside for storing nuclear waste, once there is a cost effective way to get the waste up there.

Also, research begins on "space blimps" or orbital airships.

The United Federation offers to help Brazil build its prototype space elevator.

Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.

Switzerland requests and demands that Brazil ceases its highly dangerous experiments(Space Elevators) before someone and somewhere are extremely damaged.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

It's only a mile high, so it wouldn't really damage much. It's only a few times higher than skyscrapers. Eventually we plan to construct a space elevator on the moon, probably before the earth, as it's much easier.

EDIT: It's literally only twice the size of the burj dubai.

Anyway, it won't do anymore damage than a skyscraper. Just build it in a secluded area. If it was an actual space elevator, you need to make sure no one tries to fly an airplane into it.

At 1 mile up, it could collapse, causing devestation over 51.6 miles!

(Going from something collapsing at the acceleration of gravity, along with the speed the earth rotates)

Also Brazil is not on the equator so it is even more dangerous.

Edit:

you need to make sure no one tries to fly an airplane into it.

So thats 24 hours of 8 months...times 3... 17,280 hours of clean up...Almost 2 years of constant clean up should anything go wrong. Be that natural disaster(earthquake for instance), faulty design, faulty engineering, terrorism, activism, accident...an over zealous docking incident.

Its far too dangerous to be constructed anywhere, except perhaps on the Atlantic Ridge, where the water would absorb the collapse, as opposed to ground....

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

So? It doesn't preclude me from joining the Security Council...Besides I might be persuaded to join...if I know that I am not going to be limited in any way by the UN...

The SR vetoes Switzerland's appointment...

T-72T tanks have been fully integrated into the Turkish military. They are now the main battle tank with more than 250 in service.

S-72 stealth bombers are finished development and are now being constructed. Main additions: special bomb bay makes the plane able to open its bay doors without being detected, special stealthing method (classified), added "boost" feature which allows the plane to speed up 50% faster at the cost of 75% more fuel.

Btw, tanks are multi-million (if not billion, it seems) investments. There's no way you researched, tested, then produced that many within the alloted time.

Also, being able to open bomb bay doors without detection is impossible, sorry.

Maybe a requirement of being on the security council is to deploy upto 30% of your standing army to the UN should it be decided to be necessary. Failure to do so, for any reason, results in immediate explusion from the Security Council...

I like this idea.

@Dusty ---

I wasn't thinking very clearly. Haha. France was annexed by Germany, but they still maintain their seat, although it's called Germany or whatever now. The only problem is that Germany is senselessly going after African territory. I'm kind of afraid to appoint Japan since Japan has been trying to annex random places (such as Yemen *ahem*), so it might not be as stable due to rebellions and the like. Security Council members need to be wealthy, stable nations. States like the Slavic Republic and the United Federation are rather stable since they focus mostly on internal affairs rather than going on an all-out conquering spree.

I would be fine with sending 30% of the US military to the UN.

I'll also try to contribute a little bit toward the UN having better quality armor and stuff. I'm not putting a whole lot toward it, so other nations will have to pitch in as well.

The Federation donates 540,000 soldiers to the UN. However, this number may be decreased since the US government is mulling over the issue of whether or not to cut the army down in order to make it more manageable and more professional.

All SC members must donate 30% of their armed forces.

I'm also withholding some of our newer technology unless it's impossible for just any nation to steal it from the UN and have technology on par with the United Federation. If this is an agreement, I may provide some older models of the Exoskeleton. This is no guarantee, though.

Yes well, the SR agrees and pledges 3,500 soldiers to any UN security mission that is required.

Gabon (Equitoreal-Guinea-Gabon)

wtf lol.

wtf what?

Gabon actually has some influence on the world...? (well, of course they influence the world, but I wouldn't think UN security council temporary member/backup/whatever...)

And Gabon was assimilated into Equitoreal-Guinea, just as Austria was assimilated into Italy. Your point?

We were actually planning on building it offshore off of the northwest coast of Brazil, which is on the equator. It's more of a test of actually building the thing, rather than making it self standing.

I'm pretty sure that the air cover you would provide is negligible compared to the 3 supercarriers and 200,000 troops that could be deployed for peacekeeping missions that Japan could provide. Oh, Japan is rather quite stable, since the thing with Yemen was that we were authorized by the UN to move in, replace the government, and make it all nice and stuff. Now that we did, that shouldn't be an issue because the UN approved. Besides that, Japan hasn't tried annexing anything in years.

Japan still really wants to be part of the security council. It would provide three super carriers with their planes to be deployed, 50,000 marines, 100,000 occupational forces (for if we get into some other Iraq, or longer term war), and fifty or so tanks, with some more later as back up.

Oh btw Grim, how the heck did you get 8,000 tanks?

I think Turkey and Brazil should get permanent security council seats. They are regional powers after all. Of course, I'm not pushing for them as much as a Japanese seat.

Ok Railguns should be finished, Russia begins research onto high powered batteries (so we can actually fully deploy railguns) and we also start thinking about alternative energy.

How has Mongolia been going, and Russia accepts the two new nations than joined the Russian fed.

Russia also sends in 330K soldiers to the UN (seriously 30% to me is huge.)

It's a REALLY big shaft.

The SR vetoes Switzerland's appointment...

YES!

Anti-UN rallies are held all over Switzerland and the move away from the international community is completed. Almost everyone calls for Switzerland to server all ties to the hegemonic organisation which oppresses freedom, strength, liberty and disipline.

The new Swiss System of Economics is bolstered by the hostility of the international system to any form of Swiss Influence and thus is now motoring along very well.

A new Orbital Air Craft Carrier has been planned and is being constructed as we speak, completed for early 2021, the new Carrier will serve as a stopping point for the P-Jets in their Terra-Luna trips. It is being constructed in Switzerland to be lifted up later, though it will have its own P-Jet Engines to manuever should it be necessary.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Oh no, Archi now has the capacity to supposedly bomb anywhere in the world without a means of retaliation. There must be a solution!

Retech, I have had the capacity to bomb anywhere on Earth ever since the first P-Jet went into Orbit.

If you want to try to stop me please, go ahead, you will waste your resources and then won't pose so much of a threat to my sovereignty in the future.

Nope

Go Die In A HOLE!!! POSEIDON RULEZZZZZ!!!!!

Well everyone has the capacity to bomb anyone on Earth, but you have the capacity of basically flying over and dropping bombs, then leaving.

Japan begins its own short-ranged P Jet program. It should take about as long as the Swiss program took. (The basic one, how long did that take?) Personally, I believe that planes don't work that way, so the only logical solution would be to do the same.

No way you're average gdp is 125,000. Even if you just controlled Norway, that'd be a 150% increase. (I'm talking about Purchasing Power Parity, not Nominal). If we're talking about nominal, that's a 300% increase for sweden, and around a 60% increase for norway, and a 300% increase for Finland as well. Also, most people wouldn't stand for 45% tax.

Also, your gdp went from roughly 1 trillion to over 3.2 trillion. That means an 8% increase per year, and considering we were yelling at retech over 5%...

flobotst.jpg

Hegemony-Spain

Well, Retech, since my planes are based on Physics, not just randomly inventing crap because someone else has it and I don't understand it, your planes would probably take 10-20 years...since you have no idea what the P-Jet actually is...

Also Japan doesn't have any of the original materials, such as the expertise in miniaturisation, to speed the construction of the Engine...So, realistically, you are looking at 10 odd years for the development of the grossly inefficent engine, another five to minaturise it, another three(since you now have some expertise) to refine the design to something that is flight worthy, then probably two years to get to where I am now....

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Russia fears that if Switzerland can bomb any on Earth from orbit then they could conquer it when they please.

They ask the UN to take action and only allow a certain amount of orbital weapons per country. Oh and they can only be stationed over said country.

It's a REALLY big shaft.
