Japan asks the UN, if it is accepted as a permanent security council member, if it can contribute the 30% of its troops in a different way. For example, more naval power but less ground forces.

Retech, I honestly don't know... I have been trying to think of a way round it... The best way I have come up with is a Standard of Living Index:

 

You start with everyone's GDP at 2009 levels as the base figure...so 0%

The Index is set at 0, and every 4 days (2 years) it increases by 1 point.

The amount your GDP growth is above the Index represents devaluation.

Then you subtract the percentage that you population has grown(or add the percentage your population has shrunk by) to the devaluation figure.

Then this devaluation figure represents how much your currency is actually worth.

 

So....

Say I started with a GDP of 50000 and a currency worth 100 Dollar(2009)

After 4 years I have grown my GDP to 51000

Thus my currency would still be worth 100 Dollar(2009)

 

If though, I grew my GDP to 52000

Then my currency would be worth 98 Dollars(2009)

But if I then didn't grow my GDP at all for another 4 years

Then my currency would be worth 100 Dollars(2009) again.

 

It could all be handled by a spreadsheet, possibly even a computer graphic...so it wouldn't be hard, and its not like we are not gonna keep our GDP up to date, now is it?

As an equation, how would you keep track of that in terms of absolute GDP (We can just stay in US dollars, but you know what I mean. Real GDP) instead of currency?

As an equation your Real GDP would be:

 

(GD%-PG%-SLI)*GDP=RGD

Then your spending money would be 1% of your RGD

 

Where:

GD% = Gross Domestic Product Growth Percent

PG% = Population Growth Percent

SLI = Standard of Living Index

GDP = Gross Domestic Product

RGD = Real Gross Domestic Product

 

So, using the above example:

 

(104%-0%-2%)*52000 = 50960

Or

0.98*52000 = 50960

Switzerland will remove any weapon system, including the UN's one, as stated before.

Is there anyway that I could just calculate that with 3% GDP increase, and use that as my standard growth rate? I don't feel like calculating that every day. :(

Yeah of course, though your currency will be consistantly worth less(Though if everyone else devalues their currency at the same rate it won't actually matter)

Well it doesn't really matter, since that's basically 1% inflation, which is managable. It basically means that my nation just becomes wealthier over time.

Actually its 4% inflation....Your nation comes wealthier overtime though...so it doesn't make a massive difference, as far as one can see...
