As subsquent to this around fifty other research projects are set up, all with the intent of improving the P-Jet, or at least seeming to, thus rendering technology theft more difficult as some of them are completely jokes of methods. Oddly enough I am not putting any scientists on the ones that I know are complete jokes.

I'm pretty sure that most of those are overpowered, at least when added on to an already unfeasible weapon. You could've just stated that you were starting project so and so, and we wouldn't know anyway until you used it.

Then people just steal it when it is completed...

Anyway I will negotiate with Sere about the exacts, since currently they are just off the top of my head figures...projected outcomes from my research teams and counter intelligence services

 

And, oddly enough, I don't want to make it look like I am just inventing crap...it takes a fair old amount of time to work out these technologies in physical terms...

Well of course people will steal it if it's completed. That's what countries do. Britain invents a tank and uses it during world war 1, then Germany comes back with even bigger ones during world war two.

 

Of course the faster you go with these new techs, the faster people will catch up with you. If you take smaller incremental steps, like the Stratos Jet was sorta incremental, or maybe slightly better tanks, or a proto-type exoskeleton, then people won't be inclined to copy, because it's just a small thing.

 

If you make something that seems more powerful than everything else, then everyone will simply think "Oh, Archi justified it, so I can use it too."

 

Then we're stuck in 2030 with all these new fangled weapons that none of us should have in the first place. It's not possible to remain in front of the technological curve for more than five years, until people fight to catch up.

Anyway, I think I will just increase the stats of the P-Jet, let you guess what I researched...means maybe 10 minutes every 10 days coming up with a new list of fictious technologies, as well as some real ones...but I think I can manage that, considering that theft is a crime...

I'm not manipulating it, I'm causing it to appear faster or slower in small areas, basically I'm causing an abnormality that apears in nature with an outcome making neither normal time or the dialated manipulated, only different.

 

Imagine a plane seemingly flying in mach 10, but when you're inside it it seems only to cruise at normal speed while the outside world is going slow-motion.

Anyway, we have already written off large part of the Economic system so I don't see why physics should be spared... Added to that the changes you are talking about are minute changes, which have no practical application.

Let's say point A is Earth and point B is a shuttle, when deactivated 1s in point A is the same as in point B, but when active one second in point A is the same as one thousand seconds (or 1/1000 second) in point B, alowing point B to advance faster (or slower) through time without changing it. Even though time is faster in point B than in point A it is still not altered.

Exactly how effective is this time dilation thing?

 

Is it like being able to teleport an army half way across the world? Or is it more like making someone go to sleep in a capsule longer.

I'm not really sure about it, but I prefer the older way of playing the game, since it would make the game much more confusing.

It's effectiveness is to be decided by the power it is provided with, so if hooked up to a gasoline generator each second would be 0.0001 times faster or slower or when hooked up to a nuclear powerplant it would be 1000 times faster.

 

Also it is researched at SIRO TEMP so anyone can join in.

Well basically it can be highly abused...for example:

 

I put my research team in the air plane and send them hurtling around space for six months...at the end 20 years has passed for them and I have developed new uber tech.

OR

I accelerate time in Switzerland/wherever and my GDP is now 7 quadtrillion and my population is even larger. Also I have a million uber weapons.

Let's just say no research or production is to be conducted while inside dialation (they couldn't anyways due to power/resource demands), and that there'll never be enough energy available to acelerate above 100,000 times normal time. It'll only be a manner of speeding up travell and similiar things (for example lowering the travell time to Mars).

Oh Archi, I have a question. So you're putting 50 billion dollars worth of currency (correct me if I'm wrong) into those various upgrades of your P-Jets, every year. This isn't including other random stuff that you're doing (mustard gas mines, defences, etc). Using Doom's system, your economy produces a surplus of 3 billion dollars a year. Don't you think that your spreadsheet system is overpowered?

For me its getting 5 teams of ten people together who have experiance in P-Jets...Which is fairly easy, and resources, which is also fairly easy, given my trade agreements with Abbysinia.

I'm pretty sure only a few countries have the atom bomb because of the multitude of rather hard to find materials, the massive amount of money needed, and the limitations placed on them by those that do have them (embargoes against NK, Iran, etc); not because they lack the technological know-how.
