It all started some weeks ago, when Japan decided to antherax bomb Turkey, Italy and Australia... But I get ahead of myself...

To begin with Japan used Stratos Jets to firebomb cities...These were not just any firebombs, these were the most ubered firebombs it was possible to build

Some 19 Million people in Italy were killed, with some 5 million more left horribly disfigured.

Some 12 Million in Australia, with 6 Million left disfigured.

In Turkey the use of ICBMs are Anti-StratosJet countermeasures left the Japanese airforce reeling after 100 Stratos Jets were shot down. However they still managed to drop their bombs, though Turkey had abandoned its cities a long time ago, so the damage was negliable.

 

But these issues paled when compared to the Anthrax bombings. Turkey was the worst, by a slight majority, at 99.9% of the population exterminated, followed closely by Germany at 99.6%...though, in all honesty, no country west of the Atlantic Ocean managed to escape unharmed. Switzerland suffered 20% population destruction(3,000,000 out of 15,000,000) even with contained archologies, owing to non-perfect construction methods. All other countries west of the Atlantic lsot between 98 and 99.9% of their population.

Even Japan and Indonesia, which have been left at 892,010(99.3% mortality) and 1,149,825(99.5% mortality), respectively, have suffered extensively.

 

North and South America have thus far escaped without incident after all flights to and from the rest of the world were cancelled.

 

The population outside of the Americas is currently:

Law and order have pretty much broken down and the Anthrax virus is still ripe and waiting to resurge violently.

GDP has crashed entirely and makes very little sense now that world trade has essentially ended.

 

The UN and U3 have been pretty much made obsolete...

 

(Suggestions would be to dump your current country and take one of the American countries, and maybe one day repopulate the rest of the planet...Remembering of course that Anthrax can surive for decades in a dormant state.)

 

 

(Anyone who has specific problems with this:

Retech produced improved on the 92% mortality rate, aerosolised it, and dropped 'enough to make sure every living thing in Australia, Italy and Turkey was dead'. Thus looking a many billions of spores.

Subsequently the spores were dropped. Given Japan had destroyed all military and civilian installations in their first attack there was no real way to determine what this new wave of bombers was doing. Further more Stratos-Jets bomb from high altitudes, thus the dispersion would have been very strong. Anyway, given that hospitals and such were innundated with burn victims...where the hospitals were still standing... they had little ability to recognise Anthrax spores. Japan is hardly likely to announce 'We have committed an act of Genocide', and thus nobody finds out what is going on until about a month later when aid workers(given past actions this is likely) develop some random illness and are flown home. Not to mention the wide dispersal already in effect, and the fact that animals will die without any real symptoms...and given that there are food shortages and Italy, Turkey and Australia farmers are trying to recover, they flog the meat to other countries, this meat is not extensively checked because it can be sold on to other countries at an inflated price or to the clamering civilians, and thus is dispersed pretty rapidly and trying to limit the spread is impossible. Thus huge swaths of the planet are now infected. America, largely due to South American's apparent monopoly on food, is seemingly unaffected by this.

Following on from this the first cases are reported in developed countries, that are capable of detecting it, some weeks, if not months later, when the spores have pretty much inflitrated most of society.

People freakout and start killing each other(as is seemingly innevitable) or lock themselves up in their houses, which provides little protection since the spores survive for decades, thus the people in the house will run out of food before the disaster is over...added to that spores will get into vents and such.

Japan itself is unable to deal with the catasthrophy, since its medical systems have barely been updated, and pigheadedness has set in...but the main issue is that people at the top of government did not believe that the Anthrax would actually spread to Japan, thus when it did the capacity to give out the cure was serverly limited...after all spending many tens of billions of dollars on a vaccine which is, seemingly, never going to be any use to you, is grossly inefficent.

The strain was resistant to all known antibodies, so preventing the spread was near impossible, except from quarantine zones, such zones being few and far between because of the lack of food due to the sudden nature and the global warming...which meant that selling surpluses was a brilliant idea...Capitalism FTW....Thus countermeasures, where they were enforced, were enforced weakly...and people's urge to break into the qurantine zones played and epic part in making sure that the few that could have survived, didn't.

Switzerland of course murdered rather alot of fleeing German, Italian and others with minefields and defence cannons, since Switzerland can hide in Archologies for indefinate periods. Though since the Archologies are basic metal frames with plastic or glass sheeting(They have been under construction for something like 13 years now, and are based on the design of the Eden project which put up 4 in 2 and a half years...though these are bigger, though has an infinately larger budget.) some of them didn't provide total protection, obvouisly. More than this there are people who lived outside of the archologies, and they were obvouisly shot when they tried to enter them.

 

One imagines that the residual dregs of humanity, amounting to less than the population of Britain(Minus Switzerland), would decend into anarchy, though doubtlessly anyone who wanted to try to maintain control of a country would find support, though it would be an uphill struggle, and would be difficult in the extreme, since scavangers would plague most of the land, and you would be, as Switzerland is, confined to living inside the protected zones.

 

Oh, other info, Switzerland has fully launched Operation Limpet, just waiting on the final authorisation.

Icu, Archi, I think it'll be up to us to repopulate the world once this plague has ended.

 

The Scandinavian borders are now in complete lockdown, all incoming vehicles will be shot down unless they identify themselves at least one kilometer away from the borders. If anyone is to enter the country they must go through long careful tests, their testers are to wear hazmat suits at all times to avoid infection.

 

Also all people who show any sign of the illness will be shipped to the geo-domes on greenland.

Mission accomplished soldiers. Good work!

 

 

Japan now has the highest ratio of soldiers to people: 500 for every 1000. This was because the navy on active service and the stratos jet pilots were wearing Hazmat suits. Poor army, there wasn't enough for them.

 

Doom, I'm counting on you to wipe out the United States and win the game. If you won't, then I will be launching anthrax there too. I still have an odd 250 stratos jets or so.

Suggestion for gameplay: make all the survivors in Eurasia and Africa immune to Anthrax now, and say that the small percent that survived were mostly because of lucky pre-existing immunities or or rapid buildup of immunities.

Oh, and what happened to southern Africa? Also I would imagine that some parts of China were unaffected, since they have a lot of isolated population that grow their own food, and since they weren't bombed directly.

 

 

Assuming South African areas were mostly unaffected, Brazilian relief workers equipped with the most advanced NBC suits and accessories possible are setting up refugee camps, and non perishables will be imported from the Americas (by plane, and then dropped by parachute to avoid contagens reaching the Americas, then the planes would be excessively decontaminated for good measure. Works on a vaccine for this version of Anthrax are in the works, if it's possible.

 

Oh, and Project A was completed this year, it is a working, and somewhat cheap permanent suppressive of AIDS. It was found an all and out cure was impossible, it makes AIDS completely harmless, This will be distributed to survivors in Africa, along with the product of Project M, an actual cure for Malaria.

After all, my active personnel which amounted to half my military had chemical-bio suits on during the anthrax attack (they were attacking Indonesia at the time, so it figures that they were wearing standard issue protection). Japan sends Brazil a copy of the vaccine, which is far more effective because after all, the Japanese developed in when they were making the anthrax. Unfortunately, they didn't make much of it, so it couldn't save many lives. The vaccine is transported in a vaccuum lock, and it was completely decontaminated. Just incase though, Brazil is advised to completely decontaminate it again in the middle of the ocean.

I didn't try to destroy the thread. I just wasn't aware that anthrax actually spreads. I was under the impression that I was only blowing up three countries, the ones which I had...difficulties with, so I figured I might as well retaliate.

 

Also, don't you think that a single flight of a stratos jet is feasible for a country that despite losing 99%+ of its population, still has stockpiles of things lying around to be used? There's a tankard of fuel here, some maintanance kits here, and some bioweapon stores here.

Sere, you are the primary mod, is the rest of Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania now imune to this Anthrax?

Okay, I have a few options:

 

1) Since the attack wasn't legitimate, the attack never happened. We already did determine that the attack was ordered, but no one was willing to carry it out. Thus, it never happened, and the public found out about it. Likewise, the UN confiscated Japan's illegitimate weapons already.

 

2) We can play in a post-apocalyptic world where there's less than a billion people worldwide, which is something I wouldn't mind, but it would mean that Brazil and the nations of North America will become world powers...

 

3) We can just totally ignore everything since that's what happened when the Dollar crashed (both times), which is far more reasonable than, say, Japan getting hot-headed and destroying the world with anthrax.

 

I'll let everyone decide that (which I think is option 3), but I'm leaning toward Option 3.

The vaccine is being tested, and if it is found to have no ill affects it will be distributed to the public. It is being tested on one of the most isolated islands in the world, for safety.

Heres what I suggest. It was a legitimate attack, but maybe the effects were a bit exaggerated. Turkey, Italy, and Australia lose 75%. Surrounding countries lose up to 60%, then anything after that within 300 miles loses up to 40%.
