Japan replies that all nations affected by this propaganda wish that the propaganda be turned off, in the efforts of national stability and poverty relief, especially in the case of Thailand, which was very unstable in the past 10 years.

Japan notes that many countries practice radio jamming at the present time, and are not subject to sanctions, so they refuse to stop. Of course, such jamming does not affect countries that do not want to be affected.

The only difference between a disagreement between friends, an argument between strangers, and a feud between enemies is the ability to reconcile.

Indonesia, check. (Already part of Japan)

Singapore, check. (Part of Japan, basically)

Thailand, check. (We're protecting them. You can't protect them, you would be attacked by China if you came, so I'm the only one)

So those nations ask for it to be turned off. (You could argue about Thailand, but the others are auto-done)

Unfortunately, the PRC does not wish to have any alliances at this time.

The sour dough of the epitmous pie hungers for another's sweet lips to be dulled into a state of most irreverant humbleness

TUBULAR BELLS!

It never joined me. The process will take 30 days, which I think is plenty of time. Besides, Thailand is in a compromising (arguably) situation at the moment, and Japan is the only country that it could turn to.

And I just stated that as long as the countries agree, then they don't care that you're citing the UN, as they see the RFA as meddling in their internal affairs, which is an even larger violation of the UN regulations.

Japanese soldiers limit press coverage of the event and it goes mostly unnoticed by everyone except the local people.

The Japanese soldiers were there to keep the press out, which do not have permits to enter the area. It wasn't to stop the RFA protestors. Anyways, Japan ignores the protestors because they are people that appear to be private but are under control of the Indian government. Japan notes the Nazis which burned down CERN, and also proceeds to ignore them because it is a non-government organization.

(Translation, I am ignoring your protestors because it begins the proxies again.)

I have not Rocco. I never said all the Thai people supported it.

EDIT: The human rights declaration thing is non-binding, and the binding form does not include freedom of press. Yay! So the UN would not be allowed to intervene.

Ok, there's Sere. Here's basically the argument.

Japan jams the radio signal for Radio Free Asia in Thailand and all its countries, citing the government thinks it will cause unrest.

Radio Free Asia sues Japan and asks UN to do something.

Japan:

-Meddling into internal affairs is wrong

-No right to promote instability

-Free media not guarenteed in UN

-Human Decleration is non-binding

-India is using a proxy, much like Germany used the Nazis

India/RFA:

-Educates, not using propaganda

-Jamming is Against UN Declaration of Human Rights (Free speech part)

Question is what the UN does

What year's it now?

And will the 2016/14/12 olympics happen or matter?

You're still controlling them as if it were you. So for example:

Ninjas recently attacked RFA stations across the world today, destroying them all. Japan apoligizes for such atrocities, and sends out more ninjas to catch those ninjas. Anti-Japan is anti-stability in many of the places that it is broadcasting it in, since essentially the government is Japan.

@ Icu; not necessarily. In theory, China and India combined could send 1.2 billion troops into battle.

Yes but in practise 90% of them would starve to death or be forced to throw rocks due to the logistical nightmare of supplying a continent's worth of soldiers.

I have like 20,000 troops. :)

(it's actually 1,320 in real life, but I've increased spending on military - it's .1% of the GDP in real life, which I think is the second lowest out of the nations that actually have a military)

Retech - if you actually have Taiwan, you also have like a 1.6 million person reserve army. 5th largest in the world or something.

Do you accept the $700m USD I am willing to send to Equitoreal New Guinea? To be paid back over the course of 50 years at no interest.

Also, I have an army of 12,000 strong (new recuits came in to fill the positions of the 900 killed in Somalia).

TO BRAZIL: Do you accept the trade deal I sent you?

The SSR navy has been increases to 3,500 personnel. Military stands at 12,500 strong.

The personnel laid off from work within the military have been given jobs within the rapidly growing manufacturing and construction industries within the SSR.

The tax rate for citizens within the SSR has been dropped to 18%, for the next 10 years at minimum.

The SSR's national budget has been posted in full to its website, with only 0.8% of the budget going into the military, and only 0.2% of the budget not available for public view (counter-intelligence). Obviously the citizens are quite pleased that they can see exactly where their tax dollars are going, and quite pleased with the government of the SSR for these recent changes.

SSR moves 1 step towards Democratic, and 1 step towards Central Planning (economic).

I don't think I control Taiwan, unless someone gave it to me.

So any opinions that disagree with Japan's opinion in any area near Japan is essentially considered hostile?

It's Equatorial Guinea. Not new. Confusing name is confusing.

Someone remind me, 5% of your GDP is your surplus, right? (something like you tax 20%, and 75% goes towards other stuff like infrastructure and military)

If that's the case, then I'll take it. That averages out to 14 million a year, correct? Oh, and apparently Equatorial Guinea's time zone is WAT.

Whoops, Dusty, I misread the amount on the wikipedia page. I'll accept your offer.

Also, Petroleo Brasileiro has been fully bought out by the government (it was formerly only 50.01% owned by the government). A large chunk of the oil they produce will be put into reserve. And penguin, I think it's 1% now.

Yeah the page just lists the number, but doesn't say it's actually in gigatons in the chart.

Now the SR's (it will just be the Slavic Republic from now on, SSR is too close to 'USSR' for my liking) manufacturing industry starts rocketing upwards due to the abundance of raw materials that is now accesible within the country. The materials bought by the government are offered to companies at reduced cost (I buy 1 ton of Iron from Brazil for $110 per ton, which is sold to companies within the SR for $100 per ton - but only if the materials are used within SR lands). Due to this explosive growth, unemployment has plumetted to an all time low of 2%.

It's 700m to jump start your economy and build industry and whatnot so you don't have to play as a country that makes less than a middle-level company in the western world.

Would you accept oil as a trade currency Dusty?

No. I already have an over-supply of oil due to switching over to electric cars.

Which reminds me. Update on SR projects:

Project Framework - coming along nicely (see above)

Project FW1 - Building of the Bulgaria-Turkey bridge just started

Project FW2 - Electric car 'refuel' depots installed alongside existing gas stations (estimation puts the ratio of gas to electric cars operating within the SR at 2:1)

AK 20xx - Hit a bit of a snag in development that was the lack of raw materials (which is now solved thanks to the trade deal with China & Brazil)

Project UV - Scrapped

Project Underwater Exploration - In its infancy. Indian teams have arrived in Constanta harbour, and are working on the numbers. It's likely some sort of hyper strong alloy has to be created, though the expense of such a thing may be too much for the SR & India to handle on their own.

Counter-Intelligence: Very limited in comparison to other countries (mainly because there's not really much to spy on).

The SR puts forward a vote in the UN to tax multi-national companies operating within UN countries based on the volume of their pollution. The SR also requests a seat on the security council.

I think you guys are underestimating Equatorial Guinea a bit. Sure, it's nowhere near being a world power, but its GDP per capita usually ranks in the top 30 (or so - might be 31 or 32 depending on your source, though I heard it's been as high as 4). It's just the small population that holds it back - both population-wise and GDP-wise, I think it's about the same as Iceland. (living conditions obviously aren't as good though)

This does mean it's generally better off than its African neighbors. So unless one of you decides to invade (go ahead, I don't care :P ), I should be fine for now. I've got oil too.

I'll be declining all your offers for now. (I really do like to be isolationist, don't I?)

Though like I said, we have a good deal of oil, our goal for solar and hydro energy is to power half the nation within 20 years. We also hope for unemployment rates to go down to 15% within that time. I'm happy with our literacy rates, though I'm increasing spending on education to 3% of the GDP in an effort to educate our people further. ($150m a year, go!)

Talks with Gabon continue as well. (1/5 days)

doublesmileyface1.png

Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.

Japan puts a massive 1% of GDP into space exploration. The goal is to have a colony on Mars, though the time is unspecified (I don't really know how long everyone wants to be purely on Earth and not on the nearby Solar System, which is why I am not stating a time completion date).

Meanwhile, construction has almost concluded on phase one of defences. What everyone can see if they sail a boat past is a low lying bump that extends across Indonesia, beginnings in Thailand, and down the Japanese coast. You can also visibly see a bump ontop of that bump, which seems to be capable of raising upwards. There seems to be some barbed wire around it, and you can tell that it would be able to put up very fierce resistance against an amphibious assualt, and will be able to take down several ships in the event of an attack.

Construction has begun on phase two, especially concentrated in the areas near one of the passages through the islands.

-----------------------

Japan has concluded its ground offensive and temporarily has driven off the rebels, losing 2,500 soldiers, with thousands of rebels confirmed dead. Many more are expected to be killed as a result of the naval bombardment. A new coalition government has been formed, formed of some of the old government, Japanese officials, and some rebels who joined the Yemenese side. This coalition government is temporary, and will be replaced by a permanent government soon.

The Yemenese government has been reformed and a permanent head of state has been chosen. Former Minister of Agriculture, Sei Shonagan has been chosen as Prime Minister of Yemen. With a little (or a lot) of tugging from Japan, Yemen has joined as the fifth republic in the Japanese-Pacific Constitutional Republics. Stock markets rallied in Yemen, soaring 15% at the news. Meanwhile, with the addictive drug Khat being destroyed, the water crisis is over and Yemen can begin planting food crops again. Meanwhile, algae farms are being set up on the coast to bring millions of jobs to Yemen, reducing their unemployment dramatically.

In South Africa, Japanese funds have been used to build temporary tent cities, which were often much better than the slums which they came from. They received access to clean water and adequate food rations. Safety was also high, with joint Japanese-South African police patrols working wonders. It is expected that these tent cities will be replaced by real homes within the next year. Meanwhile, algae farming has been introduced to give the poor a place to work. Algae refining, a much more valuable and complicated endeavor, is only done in Japanese-Pacific Constitutional Republics countries, which gives an incentive to join, for it provides high-paying jobs.

In Indonesia, a new train network has been constructed with the money, with underground tunnels between islands. This train network goes into Japan and close to Russia, where negotiations are ongoing to connect the railroad.

In Singapore, new docks are being constructed to accomadate greater trade capabilities.

In Japan, consolidation of the islands received from Russia is moving smoothly. Many Japanese citizens who were forced out of their homes in world war 2 are returning, with the government working on infrastructure there as well.

Plans are to construct several more destroyers and another battleship, as well as increase the anti-aircraft ability of the SAM artillery in the defences, hoping to shoot down more than half any given number of planes flying over at one time.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Japan begins shipping the United States a giant bonsai-garden which has been made to look like two football players crashing into each other. The garden is formed of rocks with moss, and a truly tranquil tree which represents peace, even though the depiction of the football players is pretty violent. The gesture is to help usher in more cooperative relations, and many other nations are expected to receive gifts as well.

A second canal in Panama is starting construction. It'll be done in 5-8 years, and will make shipping a lot easier, and cheaper. The South American Trade Union (SATU) has begun research on deep earth mining, which could increase our production greatly, and also robotic/automated mining is being looked into, making the loss of life in mines and inhumane mining techniques a thing of the past.

In Brasil, a new program to put solar panels on the roof of every building (except those where sunlight is minimal) has begun, and will start in Brasilia, to test it's effectiveness. If sucessful, it will move on to the rest of the nation's major cities, and eventually the rest of the continent.

Cryogenics and advanced nuclear technology is being looked into as well, by a newly formed organization, with representatives from each of the SATU countries.

SATU countries are also putting out a line of new weapons, based off the new line that Brazil began designing a year or so ago, and will use standardized ammunition (Similar to NATO).

USAN has been absorbed into SATU, as it encompassed all of our ideas, and SATU was the next step.

Sere:

A suggestion, make the max speed about 10% of light. That's the fastest feasible speed anyway. That means getting to Alpha Centauri would take 40+ years. Also, make large scale terraforming impossible. That means we're basically limited to Earth, and small bases on the moon and mars, and some random moons.
