They don't want to lose their independence, so when you said they just have to do what king Hakon says....

Before this gets taken out of context, by what I mean "they dont want to lose their independence" doesn't actually mean they don't, its just an assumption in case they dont actually want to

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Their elected leader has control of all things of non-global importance, like how much money goes to schools and education, etc. unless I tell him specifically to do so in order to get better scientists, etc., he has full control of intra-national trade and law enforcement except when direct actions have to be taken by me to avoid national crisis.

He's second in comand, I can overrule him, but in most cases I won't.

Anyways Scandinavian countries aren't like the Sovjet Union was, we have free speech, etc., actually we're just as free as (if not more so than) citisiens of the US are.

I'm sure the Italian people see that this is a deal which will only give them gain, and even a wealthy ally right next doors.

Well were not the soviet union anymore, I posted at the start, I got rid of communism

Okay, here's the main reason why Thailand would go with Japan: Holy crap, China just totally owned India in Malaysia!

Now why they wouldn't go with you: Holy crap, China just totally owned India in Malaysia!

I rest my case.

The only difference between a disagreement between friends, an argument between strangers, and a feud between enemies is the ability to reconcile.

Projects are all over, as far as I know, might need to ask Sere, all spies are going through with plans in all countries :D

Japan, Germany, America

I never said you still were communist, only that Scandinavia is about as free as you can get while still having a leader.

They'll see that the gains are far more valuable than total independance.

The intervention of Yemen has begun, with the support of 50,000 Japanese soldiers and 25,000 civilian contractors begin unloaded in Yemen over a several day period. The military is to sweep to the north and South to root out militant groups from the area, while the civilian contractors begin unloading their algae planting supplies, for the Yemenese people. Oil companies have been told to take a hike, as Yemen has little oil. The proceeds from the algae will primarily go to the government and its people, with it being imported to Japan, for reimportation.

So far the capital region (which isn't really plagued with civil war) has been secured with no casualties. The sweep up north is expected to cost more lives. This intervention has been authorized by the UN, so it is not breaching international law.

Okay, say you're the tough guy at school and you promise to defend this group of wimps if they give you a dollar a day. Now another tough guy comes into school and says that you have to get the hell out, because he doesn't like you there. Then you run away. Do you think the wimps will think that you're any good? Noooooo

Besides, the king of Thailand is smart, he knows that India can't protect him and they can't protect themselves, so where do they turn? Do you actually want that to happen? There can be a revolt if you want.

Well, Russia is still the de facto evil country. Invading Somalia/Ethiopia, and annexing Kazakhstan hasn't exactly improved your global image.

Bulgaria has agreed to become part of the SSR. We welcome our brothers. I'll put up another auction soon.

Construction begins for Project FW1, which is a raised bridge between Bulgaria and Turkey that can be travelled across by shipping trucks, yet is raised high enough to allow sea-borne trade to continue as normal. The bridge is estimated at costing $690m (USD).

We never invaded Kazakstan, they joined cause of our very close relationship and years of trading, we also promised to make them better

Also, at somalia, we killed the evil guys, well thats what I used my army for, thats what I thought the Swiss were doing

6 months to blow summit up? Please that'd be a couple of days.

Japanese State owned Yara Algae Incorporated has recently moved some operations to Thailand. All algae is shipped to Japan as by regulations, then converted into oil before being exported to the wider market. Meanwhile, Thailand joins the JFTA because more than half of exports are to JFTA nations, especially Japan and Singapore.

I have about 2 million soldiers and quadruple the navy. I think I would win, since it would be a naval fight. Besides, China would just attack you because you're not supposed to have Indian troops in the area.

Hooray! The great civil war (well, more of regional militant conflict) is finally over.

Just to be clear, two million regular troops and quadruple the navy, at the very least. (In this case, Indonesia+South Korea+Singapore+Japan+Thailand, since Thailand is the one being invaded).

-----------------

Japanese soldiers have easily swept through the northern part of the country, but are encountering difficulties in the south. There, Al-Qaeda militants are fiercly resisting, the Japanese high command telling Japanese troops to hang back for naval support. A Japanese battleship begins firing on the positions. So far 57 Japanese soldiers are confirmed dead, 49 from a single squad which was ambushed in the beginning.

That reminds me (why haven't I thought of this before), Japan uses antennae based in its territory to jam Radio Free Asia in the nearby area, except for Malaysia (since that is already decided). The decision was decided between the Japanese-Pacific Constitutional Republic and the King of Thailand, as a precondition to Japanese aid and protection.

------

Japan has 800,000 troops now (I trained another 650,000), Indonesia has a million, and the rest add up to about 200,000.

I have like 20,000 troops. :)

(it's actually 1,320 in real life, but I've increased spending on military - it's .1% of the GDP in real life, which I think is the second lowest out of the nations that actually have a military)

Retech - if you actually have Taiwan, you also have like a 1.6 million person reserve army. 5th largest in the world or something.

You can jam the receivers of that stations with even more powerful transmissions at the same frequency. That's what the Soviet Union did. Since my stations are closer than yours, they would naturally need less of a signal.

Japan notes that many countries do that around the world, and that free speech is not an internationally guarenteed right. RFA would have to sue in a Japanese court, which does guarentee freedom of speech.

The PRC has begun an extensive counter-intelligence program, in order to thwart any spy efforts. After extensive political talks Laos has agreed to join the PRC, and diplomancy continues with Cambodia. The classified project has been completed, and the facility has been built. Further developments to this project continue with the construction of several more facilities.

I just realized that what you're referring to is freedom of press. Huzzah! There's always a subclause in the constitution stating "unless it affects the integrity of the empire of Japan."

Japan counters that Radio Free Asia is directly sponsered by the Indian Government and is seeking to interfere in the affairs of other nations unwantantly. Japan asks Radio Free Asia to sue in a Japanese court.

------

On a totally unrelated note, Japan and friends increased naval production to twice that of India's, which should be sustainable due to the fact that Japan and friends have a GDP which is 2.5 times that of India. It also continues the construction of the land based naval and air defences, which add the firepower of several large battleships without their weaknesses. The subs from Germany have arrived.

Japan tells the UN that it has contributed to UN operations in the past, and says that if the UN decides to take action against Japan, Japan will not take a major role in international affairs, which means that it won't pay attention to the UN nearly as much as it has.

Japan counters that India is simply spreading anti-Japanese propaganda, where Japan is improving the lives of people in Southeast Asia and around the world, as evidenced by its aid in Yemen. (Japan basically will wipe out 40% unemployment) Infrastructure has been built in Indonesia, and billions have been invested in schooling, eventually leading to a new generation of smarter people.

Japan points out that Indonesia is part of Japan, and as such plays a part in contributing for national defence. Malaysia is not part of India, and therefore has no responsibility to India.

Japan also points out that it is actually playing an active role in South-East Asia, and has helped over fifty million people escape poverty. India has not done such a thing, since Malaysia doesn't even have 50 million people.
