The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)

But I was going to send a cross that represents...well the alpine cross of Switzerland. :(

Japan leaves a bonsai-garden shaped like the Swiss cross and leaves it in Brittany, so that Switzerland can see it and can take it in if they want. Japan is careful not to step onto Swiss property, so that they don't get arrested for sedition.

Brittany is on the other side of France...Switzerland has a near total, self-imposed, exile from the rest of the World...prefering to explore it though S-Net, if at all...

Thanks for obeying my laws.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

No problem, to each their own. :)

Japan sends Brazil a bonsai-garden that looks mysteriously like a soccer ball. The bonsai-garden is left on a ship floating off the coast of Brazil, so they can decide if they bring it in or not. On closer inspection, the inside is definitely hollow and can't contain an explosive (if that's what you were thinking).

Japan sends India a bonsai-garden that looks mysteriously like a cow, in an effort to mend relations. It is left on an unarmed ship floating off the coast of India. The inside is definitely hollow, and cannot contain an explosive. Japan says sorry about the Radio Free Asia incident and asks if there is some sort of compromise they can work out.

Brittany is part of the UK.

(By the way, in real life, is North Ireland trying to secede from the UK, or are only the IRA nutters wanting NI to join Ireland?)

S-Net has numerous theories about what Japan's motives are...basically they boil down to GM trees which will kill people or some kind of biological warfare, almost no one believes it is a sign of peace...often citing the Horse of Troy.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Northern Ireland wants to be part of the UK...its is overwhelmingly Protestant English Settlers, as opposed to Catholtic Irish Natives....Which is what Southern Ireland is composed of.

So the Irish Disrepublican Theocracy is trying to forcefully annex North Ireland out of spite?

Mmk.

Not quite....

The 'annexation' is more like a liberation(from their point of view)...There is a Catholic Minority...which I wouldn't say was repressed, but may very well think of itself as repressed....

But currently the whole situtation is fairly calm, I believe.

The US corrections system is now placing microchips in undisclosed areas of inmates' bodies.

The US is following Britain's lead and has enacted the death penalty in place of life sentences. The death penalty is much needed for serious offenders because the US prisons system is overpopulated as it is. Lethal injection will be used, of course.

ICE is stepping up its anti-illegal immigration measures.

The South American Trade Union (SATU) has begun research on deep earth mining, which could increase our production greatly, and also robotic/automated mining is being looked into, making the loss of life in mines and inhumane mining techniques a thing of the past.

The Slavic Republic would like to join in on this research, if that's alright. Together it'll take less time.

If not, then I'll just start the same research anyways. :P

Atheist Ireland organized a massive protest against the Irish Republic's anti-blasphemy law, inspiring clashes between atheists and devout Irish Catholics.

Scores of atheists were gunned down, and a car bomb killed 5 protesters and 3 Catholics.

It is widely suspected that the Irish Republican Army is responsible for these murders. News footage of the Dublin Massacre of 2013 are being flashed across American and British television sets. CNN has a headline called "The Irish Threat -- Terrorism in the Irish 'Republic' ".

IRA activity seems to be increasing.

An IRA videotape was sent to the British government, threatening to bomb London subways.

The IRA has also reached out to the American government and is pleading for some funding and compared their actions to the American Revolutionary War. President Wright has snubbed the IRA operatives and said promptly that "The IRA is an effeminate organization that lacks the courage to actually march out into the battlefield and fight like real men."

90% of the Atheists I've met were annoying as hell. So self-righteous.

Define self-righteous dusty

Define self-righteous dusty

–adjective

confident of one's own righteousness, esp. when smugly moralistic and intolerant of the opinions and behavior of others.

Or wiki:

Self-righteousness (also called sententiousness, holier-than-thou[1]) is a feeling of smug moral superiority[2] derived from a sense that one's beliefs, actions, or affiliations are of greater virtue than those of the average person.

I like Wikipedia better.

Tis true, Athesists are far more superiotistical(new word) than their theocratic brethern...Take the Declaration of Human Rights....No Religion would attempt to endow everyone with rights, a conscience maybe, but rights are something which says 'This is universal right, if you disagree then we are so re-educating you.'

Ha!

Hmm then in that regard I am self righteous...

EDIT: Sere I doubt that north korea would actually invade if the US continued support of south korea.

Being self-rightous is just a derogatory term for being confident.

I believe that there are four types of people:

The Arrogant- Who listen to themselves

The Self-Rightouts- Who listen to themselves

The 'People like me' people- Who listen to themselves

Difference is the first is the specific instance, the second is the abstract and the third is the perpendicular pronoun.

The forth type are:

The Sheep- Who blindly follow the pack.

Confidence and Self-righteousnes are different. They seem similar, but they definitely are not.

The SR has legalized gambling, prostitution, and recreational drug use. Buildings are being set up where a citizen of the proper age can purchase drugs and use on site (the rooms will be completely private, with couches, tvs, etc). They will all be taxed, obviously, and should lead to a nice boom to the SR's income.

The SR is also setting up clean needle exchange sites for those who are using hard street drugs and don't have the income (or care) to ensure that they don't catch diseases.

Also, a larger caliber bullet than the 7.62 is being produced en masse, as this is what the new AKxx standard round will be.

The SR has also set up a number of banks that will operate on the (old) Swiss principles of holder security and financial stability, and for the first 5 years will carry significant incentives for foreign holders to put their currency into SR banks (rock bottom interest rates, free safety deposit boxes, etc, etc).

A number of specialized factories are also being built, for military vehicle production, machine parts, civilian equipment, and heavy construction. Incentives are also being provided for foreign companies that wish to set up their headquarters in the SR, with low tax policies and prominent placement in one of the world's fastest growing nations.

The Slavic Republic is now taking contracts for production of vehicles/parts/weapons/etc (post here, or contact through PM if its "secret"). Payment will be in the form of 1/20th Gold, 19/20th currency (subject to change, but existing deals won't be changed if they happen before a change in the payment standard).

Huge step in the wrong direction. Want to lower your prisons? Get rid of mandatory minimum sentences for drugs, and free people put in jail for drugs, and put in place new drug laws. Literally 80% of your jails will be drained, and crime in general will plummet.

Just saying.

The South American Trade Union (SATU) has begun research on deep earth mining, which could increase our production greatly, and also robotic/automated mining is being looked into, making the loss of life in mines and inhumane mining techniques a thing of the past.

Sure, no reason not too, and seeing as you would be starting it on your own it's not like I'd be the sole holder of this technology. So yeah, we can collaborate.

Dusty, Switzerland continues to operate the best security deposit system...and always has done...and always will do. Competition is always good, but tried and tested seems best...at this point.

You lost most of your holders when you got embargoed and then siezed everyone's assests.

:)

You can work on the timeframe for how long it will take, since it's not really instrumental to my country but probably is part of some economic plan you have. An SR team has been sent to Brazil to collaborate work on the project, and has been granted $140m by the SR government.
