Well, judging by the fire cape compromise that they actually implemented (2000 points LOL, GF noobs, if you "can't" get a fire cape then fork that 5m worth of points over pls), I don't think they're going to listen to all the whiners on this one thankfully.

Mostly because of the fact that almost all the 'whiners' are complaining simply because of the fact that they don't like it.

Sure it will take some getting used to but people need to realize that this is just a stepping stone towards future content.

No, no, no, no, no. Most of them are complaining because they can't think for themselves so jump on the bandwagon and complain with the other ranters and rioters. It started with people who didn't like it then the typical RSOF ranters found something to complain about and forgot about the other 3 updates that came out today.

Worst update in the history of rs. Even worse than December 2007.

Why?

because the idea is completely unoriginal and completely uncalled for. I don't see a legitimate reason of why they had to change Hitpoints. it was fine, nobody had problems with it, and everything was fine and dandy. I don't see how this sudden dramatic change is going to benefit anything. I think Jagex is only getting pressured into changing Runescape so that it could fit the criteria of other modern MMPORPGs and their first step happened to add a 0 into every [cabbage] we hit on. WOW JAGEX THAT WAS SO FREAKIN' BRILLIANT! WE SO NEEDED THIS UPDATE!!!

I played Runescape because it was Runescape. Now it just feels like any other RPGs where everything is in 3-4 digits. I can't ever believe that they would implement such a disappointing update. I'm just about ready to stop spending even one cent in this cruddy peice of [cabbage] company called Jagex. Good bye and I hope you have fun with your new generation of pre adolescent players.

I have to wonder what life is like at the Jagex offices...

"Sir...people are...erm..rioting again?"

"What? Over today's update? Why?"

"I'm not to sure, sir...all we did was add a zero to everything...?"

"Sigh...oh well, just ignore it."

Hitpoints was and still is fine the way it is.

If you don't like it simply pretend that the last digit does not exist.

Get hit for a 412, that would have just been a 41 in the old system.

818 HP left, you still have 81hp left in the old system.

Really, what is the big freaking deal? I'm already use to the new format after a couple of hours. I'm really interested in seeing what Jagex does with this now.

That's probably why they stayed overtime to finish it today. So they could do it right before they go to sleep and worry about the ranters 10 hours after the release lol

The bolded says to me that you haven't even logged in, because that is not the case. Runescape is still Runescape. An extra digit will never change that, and if you would at least read the update page, instead of skimming it and picking points that you think are negative, then you'll know why the change happened. If you are leaving over something like this, fine. Good riddance. It's like leaving over the interface change.

The challenge of a mistake is not to avoid it. The challenge of a mistake is dealing with the outcome.

Proud of who I am and what I am.

Anyone who can't see the long-term benefits of this update is mentally-challenged. I hope this is the start of the major combat rebalance Jagex have been looking into. The ability to raise your maximum health (or even lower it) could be extremely useful for things like PvP where weapon strength has got way out of hand.

In the mean time just get used to it. Jagex have done some pretty major things in the past (trade limits) and Runescape has come out better for it. Although if you do want to moan and quit PLEASE DO. One less [bleep] competing with me for training spots. :)

infact, i have logged in and to say the least, it completely alienates runescape. and the reason for the change was incredibly stupud. you still hit a lot of zeros they are still pretty common so it made no difference. and the fact that you're likely a bandwagon follower tells me nothing.

This isn't youscape this is runescape... they are not making the game for you... they are making it to become more popular to get more money. They are a company, it is there job to maximize profit and if it shows that higher hits attracts more plays then they will do it. I find it hard to believe you have not noticed this trend with all gaming outlets. Gaming company's care less about the actual true gamers and more about the general gamer. There is little to no money making your game to a specific type of gamer. Everything is becoming generic and money related since the generic gamer these days are spoiled kids who don't like a challenge and want rewards handed out to them for doing nothing. this can be seen threw achievements gotten by completing a level in a game or by just buying something. There is nothing you can do if you don't like it and by quitting something you invested time and money into because of something so little just makes you sound like a child who didn't get his way so he left.

Proud of who I am and what I am.

People are being such whiners and dummies over this HP update.

NOTHING HAS CHANGED. Everything is just multiplied by ten -- your hp, your damage, the healing rates of food, etc.

I repeat -- NOTHING HAS CHANGED.

Quit whining... it was necessary to make the game more interesting for those who just start playing the game, and for possible future Constitution updates -- e.g. potions or magic spells that reduce max constitution level.

Very good update!

you're right. but there are still plenty of people who do not agree with the update and are leaving just how I am. WhY? because their scheme of making money doesn't constitute changing the game that we love to play into...something else. theretically speaking, I think that people are too insecured to follow their true opinions about the update so they're only decision is to follow it so you guys don't end up like me where you're getting flamed everywhere from left to right.

First, less then 24 hours is not enough time. For anyone. Even if you had been playing since release.

Second, I don't have issues with you. I have issues with your moronic attitude towards an update you obviously haven't read into as well as you think you have.

Seriously, I don't understand how people are so angry over this completely minor change... an extra digit added to HP. Big deal -- you'll get used to it.. complain about something worth complaining.

Yes I did. they said that zeros are boring, Runescape needs challeges yade yada. Well, I don't agree with that since you still hit a lot of zeros and the fact that runescape is already too easy because of their repetitious changes that are catering to non-gamers. AND THIS obviously, is the reason why I do not like Jagex anymore. I am clearly being the only "negative" here so it is normal for you guys to flame at me. so yeah, flame away people. This is how the internet survives!

How is it pointless whip? You ever notice before that it was possible to hit 0s with magic even when it didn't splash? Or that it was possible to weaken a tormented demon even though you seemingly hit zero? That's because the hit fell between 0 and 0.9. So that potential was completely lost before (except for weakening the demon). Now you can actually hit a 9 instead of the potential being completely wasted.

Also, unicorns now heal 148 instead of 14 (read: 140).

i've had a streak of 19 zeros in a row in duel arena. -.- the potential does decrease the chances of zeros, but not significantly.

3 Things. You'll focus on the last one, but the first 2 will be the ones that matter.

1) This is the DevBlog post. Click the link. It tells you why the changes were made.

2) Runescape was never hard. Never. It just took time and work. It's been made easier, yes, but that happens to all games over time.

3) Non-Gamers? Context please. It makes business sense to cater to them because they are next months pay check.

Don't like it? Log out of life. It's going to happen again. Then it'll happen again. And again. And so on.
