Hitpoint updates

The Observer

Recommended Posts

With the new hitpoint updates, it's going to be hard for clans to get used to it, at least at first. How will you and your clan adapt to the changes? Do you think it's a big deal?

I personally think that it's not a big deal, after all it just multiplied the previous hits and hitpoints by 10, but I know, from personal experience, that seeing 990 hitpoints is going to be hard to see at what time you should be eating. But after all, eventually everyone will get used to it.

It's not that big of a deal, just add in a decimal so you see a 107 as a 10.7. It was a lil confusing getting sniped and you see 100+ on you but it's not that bad..

All it will do is take some time to get used to, the only concern I see is supposivdly you hit less 0's and the fact that decimal hits take place I think you'll tank a lot shorter but still able to tank.

Not a biggie, just a learning curve.

For me personally, i noticed i don't even look at the numbers i just look at my hp bar and have developed a keen eye to estimate when to eat. But i did over eat acouple times.

It's kind of freaky until you adapt to it. After that I don't think anyone will really notice a huge difference once they're used to it.

well personally i dont see it as a problem :) we had our after the update it was no problem i tanked better than normally actually :)

I don't know how the new hit system works but i got hit more 100s- than 100's+ but there were some high hits in the 150-200 zone though it is just like normal tanking you just tank :) it comes to you naturally :) I think it is the same amount of time u can tank for if not better :)

I think our clan was one of the first to have a fight with the new Constitution/Life Points change. A few members said it was quite off-putting.

Just another thing to get used to, I guess. Only fair though, since tanking has been getting progressively easier, if anything. :P

Might be marginally harder, because DPS is now more accurate, but I don't think it'd be that much of an issue.

actually tanking will get a little bit harder, since jagex says now there are hits that are "in between" So what would have normally been a 0 now could be 1-9 damage, but I guess its not a big deal, but it kinda makes tanking just a little bit harder now that seeing 0s is alot more rare ;]

Personally I think the update was useless and rather annoying, I don't think it will do much to the gameplay except have a mild, bothersome affect for a while

You'll probobaly tank like 5 steps less now due to hits between hits now counting. i.e 24.7 damage = 24 before, 247 now. 15.9 = 159 now. A learning yes, will take about 2 weeks to get used to fully.

Lol ^

I'd say this was a silly update, they only added it because of the newer players/lower level noobs, i read a post of a j mod saying 0s and low hits were boring. guess there is no point rambling on about how i dislike it seeing they will not change it.

Already seen hundreds of people come in gerts cc going omg i hit 50s etc...

I still dont understand, what was the point of changing hp's like that?

jagex thought it was too boring to see so many 0s and low hits so they increased it

and also because the minimun hit was of 1 which was 10% of a lvl 3 beginning to play rs so they thought that will be unfair so they raised it

It allow Jagex to introduce items that increase/decrease your max HP without affecting your current HP, the damage is also more precisely recorded.

To be honest it's a rather useless update but oh well it's not the end of the world, in the end everyone will get used to it.

Thing is you'll know hit 168 when before the update it would've been 16 (from 16.8), so I assume this will have a very small difference in time when people tank/get piled.

it does make tanking harder...not if is small amount of ppl piling but how about large numbers like 25+ it will make some kind of difference in tanking

Think it's a bit of a pain in the [wagon] tbh but I've seen change's I've disliked a lot more. As everyone else has said we'll get used to it, but I think tanking's going to be a bit trickier to adapt to- especially with the lack of rounding down meaning you're going to be getting hit harder and if it's a big pile it'll all add up very quickly >.<

Look guys... I absolutely must be a mass baby-seal murderer!

Jagex is just trying to make the game more interesting for new players, personally, I thought this was a stupid update, and I don't like it cause it gives me laggs :/

well, we'll get used to it soon.

Well that makes RS a better place but I know what you're saying and I agree on it.
