In this, our latest story competition, we want to hear tales of endeavour inspired by one of the two, great single-player campaigns in Armies of Gielinor: Zamorak Returns and Saradomin Strikes.

 

To enter the competition, choose which campaign youd like to write about and then use your creative writing skills to come up with the best short story you can in no more than 400 words. Once youve written your story, send it to [email protected], with your account/display name, and either Zamorak Returns or Saradomin Strikes, in the subject box.

 

The deadline for sending us your entry is 23:59 on Monday 29th March. The story competition judges will then spend the week locked in a room until theyve uncovered the most engaging and exciting stories for each campaign. Once the judges have decided on their favourite entry for each campaign, well announce the winners and award the authors with lifetime membership to both RuneScape and FunOrb, plus some exclusive signed artwork based on the campaign theyve written about. Two runners-up (one for each campaign) will receive 12-months of RuneScape and FunOrb membership.

Four awesome new items have been added to the Jagex online store, and are available from today. Continuing with our plans to stock the online store with more stuff, check out our latest additions:

 

Kreearra mouse mat

The two new mouse mats feature some of our favourite pieces of concept artwork. This familiar image is of Kreearra, general of Armadyl's armies, performing a swooping dive bomb attack.

 

Red dragon mouse mat

The second of the new mouse mats features some very recent concept art of a red dragon. This will let you always keep it in sight, so maybe you wont be as scared next time you come face to face with one.

 

Runes mug

The runes mug combines the powers of all the runes imprinted on the outside, to make your coffee that extra bit delicious. (Humidify and Superheat spells not included.)

 

Poison Arrow stein

Fancy a Ranger's Aid? Now thats what Im talking about. Doff your Robin Hood hat to Marion and fill your ranger boots with this stein glass imprinted with the Poison Arrow logo.

The mug and the stein glass look pretty good to me :) I also noticed a few things in the store that I have not seen before, such as the RS Journal and Decal, I must have missed them.

Age doesn't really come into it we're all individuals so we like different things, I wouldn't buy any of this because I wouldn't have any real use and some of the aesthetics I really don't like, I would concider buying the Mug if I didn't already have about 50 (unless some "accidentally" break).

I might actually try to write a small story. According to myself I'm quite a good story writer.

A: No. We can also accept entries in French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Polish and Finnish. We have a localized support team that will be able to judge entries in these languages.

I'm more into the tactical aspect: I have a choice, what is most strategic? Either way, how they're going to treat stories in different languages equally is easily a determining factor for me if i am to write in norwegian, english or german :P

 

also the technicalities: who will (presumably) translate the winning entry if it is in portugese, so other players can relish in teh winning stories as well?
