Mr_Putter
I'd like to know what everyone thinks to be the SINGLE funniest person that there is. I'd like to ask that you name 1(one) person as your favoruite comedian, or just a person that you think is the funniest person ever. If you wish to add other people in as honourable mention, go for it, but try to deem 1 person to be the funniest. As for me, I pretty much can't get many laughs anymore. I've been sort of in a time where fart/bathroom jokes aren't funny, and old-person humor isn't funny either. So there's few things that I find funny any more. I still like to think that I have a sence of humor, there's almost no movies that I find remotely funny. And since many of the funniest TV shows are either no longer on the air, or have passed their time, there's not much new material I find funny. But I'd have to say that THE SINGLE FUNNIEST person ever is...Charlie Murphy. I just can't get enough of him. For those of you who don't know, he's the (far funnier) brother of Eddie Murphy. His work on Chappelle's Show is funny, and he says some AMAZING lines in the Rick James and Prince skits, but where he really shines is in his full interview for the show, and his untold stories. He is a master storyteller, and his use of cursing is unapoligetic, and refrains from being over the top. He tells the funniest stories, says the funniest things, and overall I'd say he's the funniest person I've ever seen. He's just so consistantly funny, and you couldn't pack more hilarious things into a person just talking (without making prior material). Honorable mention go out to the following: Dave Chappelle: It's really cool the amount of quoteable quotes he does on his show that were never in the script, and he just makes them up as he goes along. Such as "What'd the five fingers say to the face" and "I'm Rick James [female dog]" Those, according to the audio commentary by the director and Dave are completely ad libed, and this makes him hilarious. Much of his show is amazing, but occassionally unconsistant. That's why he doesn't win. His standup is delightfully rude (without being TO rude) and thus hilarious. Conan O'Brian: Man this guys a hoot. He's just so crazy and wild on his show, he's just mad funny. Really funny. Jerry Seinfeld: Very Funny, his act is amazing. He has good material, but his presentation is also awesome. I can't believe how much funny stuff he packs in there. Also funny: Michael Richards, David Letterman, more to come. So what do you people think is the single funniest person ever, and why?
Phil
Funniest stand up comedian has to be Peter Kay, just cracks me up every time he's on stage. His tv programmes like Phoenix Nights/Max & Paddy etc. aren't as funny as his stand up comedy IMO, but still good :D He seems to be so natural on stage and making people laugh! notable mentions for other comedians? The late Ronnie Barker and Tommy Copper. Just hilarious looking back over their careers.

indy500fan
jerry seinfeld is pretty funny for a standup. i find cartoons pretty funny (im 19 now (as of today :D ) but i dont think im to old for cartoonies), along with with daily shows like with jon stewart, and the showbiz one with david spade. as for funniest person, im going to have to go with a friend that i had in high school (havent talked to him since graduation). he was fricking hilarious. probably because the jokes meant somethign to me, rather than being about something i know nothing about.
