Ralph
So I recently came back to Scaping after about 5 months of inactivity/retirement and it seems a lot of things are different. Clans that were trash are all of a sudden doing much better, while clans that I have seen do well in the past are now slumping hardcore. Now although this is normal and the flow of clan activity, it brought a few questions to my mind that I was wondering if CDers on here would answer. What does your clan do to recover from slumps? What actions do YOU take? How well does your clan perform when your are slumping? How quickly can you recover? What (in your opinion) is the best method/actions to take on recovering from slumping? I have lived my life to the best of my ability, but I have not been able to escape fate, anger, or pain. Bring me the answers, and the road that leads to truth, reveal to me once and for all, how all of this will end.Shadows cannot exist without the light. Danny_TeamDan
What does your clan do to recover from slumps? What actions do YOU take? We stepped up our overall activity and it seemed to work out somewhat nice. I try and recruit some people when I see fit and do my best to make sure I can make important wars. How well does your clan perform when your are slumping? How quickly can you recover? Naturally when your slumping I'd assume you wouldn't perform up to your standards, otherwise you wouldn't really be slumping, you'd just be down to a smaller ml. Recovery varies on the time of the year, how bad the slump is, and lastly but most importantly what kind of members you have. When you hit a slump you find out who the most loyal members are and you tend to build from there. What (in your opinion) is the best method/actions to take on recovering from slumping? Seems like I'm answering the same thing over and over :x I'd increase activity and encourage people to step up the recruiting. Make sure when getting wars you're playing it a little safe get some wins and then go back to challenging yourself more. Overall try to get everyone more involved in the clan. Nobody
Normally, Gene/the council try to get everyone pumped up and motivated. Personally, I make wisecracks, since a lot of new people tend to panic. I don't think many clans perform well when slumping, sometimes we recover quickly and sometimes we don't. The best method is to maintain a positive attitude and do your best to work together to improve. With love to one, friendship to many, and good will to all. Uffan5
What does your clan do to recover from slumps? What actions do YOU take?We don't usually slump that hard, we just have some down points, usually resulting from a decrease in activity or retiring/absence of important members. I try to recruit any friends and motivate our current members. How well does your clan perform when your are slumping? How quickly can you recover? We perform extremely well because of our solid and experienced leadership, and we usually get back on track whenever our activity rises. What (in your opinion) is the best method/actions to take on recovering from slumping?Constant recruiting, its really bad when your application forums are empty, and just keep the clan morale up and keep out all negativity. pumkinpie37
What does your clan do to recover from slumps? What actions do YOU take? We stay active and recruit harder, personally I ask all my friends to join cr even if they are in a different clan. How well does your clan perform when your are slumping? How quickly can you recover? We lost some fights we wanted to win but I think we recovered pretty quickly as we have the ability to pull 150 opts on 1-2 day preps again. What (in your opinion) is the best method/actions to take on recovering from slumping? Stay active, a few recruits we have gotten latelly came from clans that were in a little rough patch and didn't war as often

The Observer
There are no real quick fixes for slumps. In fact you can compare it quite easily to an economic downturn in real life. I've found that it does (for the most part) eventually recover, but it requires effort from all members. Perhaps some new activities that can encourage activity as well such as more promotions, etc.
Dager
What does your clan do to recover from slumps? What actions do YOU take?We normaly try to recruit. TBH Lth only slumps if the "best of the best" leave(as in long standing members). How well does your clan perform when your are slumping? How quickly can you recover?Badly. Even though we have great leadership we also have members with key roles in wars and if they quit then those roles go unmanned. It takes a while to recover. What (in your opinion) is the best method/actions to take on recovering from slumping?Boosting moral. Boosted moral increases activity and that increases recruitment. To me, recruitment isn't from drives but the influence a clan has in communities like these, such as active warring and friendly members. IMHO I don't think Lth handles slumps very well. We lost some of our "best of the best" some time ago and are still recovering. We dropped from a 30 average pull to a 20 average pull and our leaders not only took us off TWR but we were considering community. Eventually our leaders decided to close down Lth altogether but from member out cry new leaders were selected and we are still running. A sad and corny story I know...I'm waiting for Bravehero to reply to this post with "cool story bro". :ohnoes:
Gimingo
What does your clan do to recover from slumps? What actions do YOU take?Wait it out and do our best to not be affected. You can't let that snowball take effect. Personally I like to remind people about how they all promised to be loyal to the clan and just maintain my activity. How well does your clan perform when your are slumping? How quickly can you recover? It seems AL recovers really quickly, because even though we had 10-20 members leave the clan, we still dominated in our wars. As for recovery... to get back to where we were is going to take a long time. :( What (in your opinion) is the best method/actions to take on recovering from slumping? To increase the amount of events and wars your clan has, as well as trying to keep the topics positive; i find negative leaving topics aren't pleasant for moral=\ doesn't hurt to pray that no way-high-up-there members quit also
Vannaka1992
Q1 I'd aim at recruiting. Increases activity overall-ish. Q2No one does well recovering slumps, it all takes time, it heals on its own at its own pace. Q3Take it back but take it easily. Progress slowly not quick, don't "jump the gun." Jack
What does your clan do to recover from slumps? What actions do YOU take? The leaders encourage activity and reward members who improve on it, and try to make the clan more of a family where people feel safe, secure and want to stay active so we don't slump again. So basically, if I see active members I'll praise them for being active, help make activity checks, motivation and a bit of recruiting to friends who are clanless, help make forums and IRC a funner place to be and raise morale, all of that stuff really. How well does your clan perform when your are slumping? How quickly can you recover? We've only been through 1 slump really, where our memberlist hopped down from 60 to 45 ish people (TK reopening, and such) and Warria06 and I were able to get everyone motivated and we did alright, we recovered pretty fast. We were back upto 50 within 2 weeks or so. What (in your opinion) is the best method/actions to take on recovering from slumping?Activity checks, more wars so members can be more active and rewards to the most active members so people have something to strive for when being active. Be prepared to take 2 steps backwards before taking 1 step plus more forwards, slumps don't just easily heal.
