I look around today, and I see a lot of people with 99 capes, and I can't help but feel a bit noobish been as I don't have one. I've tried to get a fire cape three times, but I always end up messing up on Jad. So I'm a level 121 who uses an obby cape while training slayer lol. Does anyone still use an obby cape becase they dont have either a fire or 99 cape?

I wear my obby cape when I'm ineligible to wear my quest cape, as I want my first 99 to be summ, hp, or slayer.

I always wear my Ardy 2 cape now, even though I don't always need the pray/stab bonus. It looks nicer than the obby cape and the +9 def stats barely make a difference anyway.

I used to wear the Legends cape instead of obby because it's free and looks nice.

Since I casnnot beat Jad or Nomad and I don't have a 99, I wear one.

I still see quite a lot of 80-90 wearing them. I always preferred legends cape anyway

Ever since I got my fire cape It's the only cape I've been wearing for combat/slayer. Before that it was my defense cape, I don't think i've ever actually worn an obby cape =s but that's just 'cause I was too cheap to buy one when they were the best alternative to a legends.

I usually wear my ardy cape these days. Even though obby cape has better def bonuses I prefer other capes such as the ardy or legends just for the looks. Maybe that makes me a bit snob. :razz: Soul wars cape looks quite nice too in my opinion but the requirements are too much for me. I'm not planning to get any 99 or fc anytime soon.

cant get a firecape but usually wear soulwars cape or skillcapes

 

i had an obby capeonce but died with it to zygomytes was pissed so never used it again lol

I have both fire cape and a skill cape so it's either of those generally, otherwise it's my ardy 2 cape.

I used to wear obby cape all the time though.

I wear one on my dfs pure >.> but thats only until i get 99 construction and hunter.

Fire, Soulwars, and 99 capes are all superior, so no I don't wear one.

Personally, with my level 3 pure, I only ever wear an obby cape. As and when I get 99 woodcutting I'll most likely wear that from then on, but until then. :razz:

I still have one buried in my house. It never gets worn much because of the SW cape though. I don't think I got one until after getting my quest cape at any rate.

I wouldn't stop wearing it for anything that's currently ingame :D

I don't like how people assume I have no 99s because I wear it, but I usually just ignore what most people say ingame anyway

 

You shouldn't really try to get a skill cape just to fit in though. Fire cape I can understand since it has all better stats

I used it from 95 to 99 Defence, as I couldn't, and still haven't, beat Nomad.

You wear the best of what YOU can regarding YOUR stats and accomplishments. Is the game called FashionScape ? i don't think so.

 

Now people plays in skillcape to show how they deserved for it (not for their bonus). And often they fail.

It's like Mining in F2P with full trimmed rune armour. What is the purpose of the extra armour weight when it's not necessary ? Leaving it in bank would makes him getting more ess per hour (more run energy).

And the same fact is continuing in f2p.

 

I fight with the best armour i can using best offense or defense when i think i'm ok or not (intenet connexion, being tired, ...)

I skill with the best set possible (mainly with lightness dresses where awfull spottier cape > any skill cape)

I most of the time play anonymously to make my way arround gielinor in peace.

And when i decide to show off, i bring a good look in my eyes.

 

So you fight in oby cape, it's ok unless you have better.

You want better? continue using your cape untill you can get better, that's all.

Soul wars cape for everything, +12 prayer is too good if you use turmoil on everything combat-related.

Haha, don't worry, I used an obby cape until I got 120 combat. I use an obby cape when I don't feel like losing one of my 99 capes or when it looks better with whatever I choose to wear.
