1. Introduction

Hello and welcome to my guide.

This guide will show you all the information (and some speculation) I have gotten over the last 5 or so months of research.

 

2. How this started

I was notified about this around the first of November last year (2009) by a person on the Editorial Panel and they were told this by a user for a DYK.

"Did you know that monsters in the Living Rock Caverns give a slightly increased amount of experience per damage dealt?"

I went to the Living Rock caverns to test this out and it was true!

So that started off my long journey to find out what other monsters gave more (or less) than the normal 4xp for every 10lp of damage dealt.

 

3. General information about combat experience from monsters

Most monsters give you the normal 0.4 melee experience and 0.133 constitution experience for 1lp of damage dealt. There are monsters that give less then that due to

You get less combat experience from fighting pests than you would fighting monsters elsewhere in RuneScape. This is because you can trade your Pest Control points in for even more experience.

The monsters in question are the monsters you can kill in Pest control. There are others and I'll get to them later.

 

4. Now

Please look at the post below this one for my information.

 

 

I had two by products of researching this. The first would be finding out that attacking players in any type of PVP (Player V Player) environment you can get more than .4 combat xp per 1lp of damage dealt! That information is on the site in the combat guide and the relevant activity guides.

I'll post the information here as well.

           For every life point of Damage Dealt:

The second by product of this research was finding out how the slayer experience was calculated for monsters where their slayer xp was more than the lp/10.

After months of research and calculations I wouldn't say it's 100% complete, but I have done enough research to post about it.

 

Note: Since this was (and still is) a big project at the start I literally didn't know where to start or what to do. So I started off with monsters that have a combat level of 90 or greater. In the future (and if I have time) I might try and find out if any monster under level 90 gives you more than the normal xp.

You should note that all revenants give only 0.1xp per life point dealt (1xp per 10 lp).

 

All dungeoneering bosses give 0.5xp per life point dealt (5xp per 10 lp).

I'd also like to add, Lumbridge cows give 0.3 xp per damage dealt. This is done to balance out the lp increase they had (80 -> 107).
