Grim, cutting unprecisely will lead to it detonating above your city, and since we're talking nuclear bombs, the damage would still be pretty catastrophic.

Slowly pushing a bomb away which is moving at several dozen feet per minute downwards doesn't seem like the best idea. You'd probably just make it spin or something.

The best bomb protection is preventing it from being dropped in the first place.

@rocco Yes but you would have systems to shoot it down already (or at least you should)

Hmm what would be a way to stop a nuke short of just shooting the plane down ahead of time?

I was thinking...what about some sort of White-Blood Cell type defence.

Fire a missile up which then explodes into a large net made of a heavy duty metal. Inertia carries it skyward(towards the missile...hopefully) and when it hits the missile it either explodes the missile or wraps round it then detonates...or deploys a second stage booster system.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Theres only so much you can stuff into a bomb, missiles are more destructuve, while bombs are more difficult to actually defend against.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

I agree with that, but if you used a sort of insulated material so that when the bomb detonates not as much happens.

I'd rather launch a 500 Million dollar missile than use a 1.5 Billion dollar stratos jet that costs 1.5 Billion to actually use... Each time.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

Or shoot it with pulsed infrared lasers which causes expansion of matter to create a plasma explotion which propels it back up, in other words rapid PEPs.

Now you just have to solve the power(Inverse Square Law for the win) and targetting problem.

After you conquer a country, is there still going to be resistance in it? Because that ruined me last game.

No

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Archi, does infrared laser bursts say massive power consumption to you? Cuz it sure doesn't to me. And aiming is just pointing at the bomb, trajectory/speed calculations aren't neccessary with lasers.

This is why we don't let you near math...

Trajectory and speed are still necessary, since working out where the missile is sort of helps...And since it is pulsed...

Anywho. 'Energy to blow up a missile at 10 kilometers' says massive energy consumption...

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Archi, can you set up a poll for the new Dungeoneering mod?

10:53 PM - retech9691: I feel the need
10:53 PM - retech9691: To include many chasms in my story arc
10:53 PM - Resistance: You mean plotholes?

Remember, Remember, the 4th of November

RIP Dawngate ;-;

Notw it up, push it away, PEPs are under developement as anti-riot weapons, they are made to knock you back and stun you, though they can also be made to kill.

And a laser fires at the speed of light, only current location is needed as the future one will depend on the hit. Just hook them up to a radar and the job's (almost) done.

Does training your troops actually help, cause I'm thinking I could just set an army of a million in a year and conquer places.. And not train a small army for 5 years.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

Great...instead of a missile blowing up an airbase you just blew up a hospital. Righous ownage...

Sigh... Which one of us is moderator?

Hooking a laser up to a radar is a foolish idea.

As was shown with the Divid Gun...

As early production examples started rolling off the production line, the problems proved to be just as serious. One of the early models is reported to have locked onto a latrine fan, mistaking its return for a moving target of low-priority. Reporting on the incident in another article on the vehicle's woes, Easterbrook reported that "During a test one DIVAD locked on to a latrine fan. Michael Duffy, a reporter for the industry publication Defense Week, who broke this aspect of the story, received a conference call in which Ford officials asked him to describe the target as a 'building fan' or 'exhaust fan' instead."

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
