Also, I really think the two hours to move troops rule is kinda [developmentally delayed]ed. That's a month in game time. It might take about two hours for a large scale invasion, but to land 10,000 troops from 200 miles away should take 30 minutes top.

 

 

Like Dusty said, Archi designed the rules so that the rules weren't lax enough to allow idiocy. However, the rules aren't perfect.

 

I think we should talk about getting some rules revised so they can't be abused, to be honest. I personally think that the zero military rule should be abolished and some things like what Doom pointed out need to be revised.

 

We're still early enough in the game where we can revise some things and work out all of the bugs.

What's basically happened is, I attacked Ross and a big shouting match went on so I decided to withdraw to end it.

 

If we are going to keep the military we have I'm just going to march around with a finely trained army of 7.5 million all armed and ready. It's stupid Sere otherwise things like that will happen.

Dusty, first I was allied to Hex, and Rocco attacked but you came to our rescue, then hex left and gave me his stuff, I got allied to Retech and nearly got into a war with Rocco, then I had gotten to much people and lost 99% of them, then the bunch of you attacked (including you whom I expected better from) while Retech wasn't even noticed.

Also, adding to the military suggestion:

 

To prevent large armies, just cap it off at 500,000 for a professional army and 100,000 for militia. That was the only other reason why Archi had to get rid of the militaries. Even if we continue this, someone like Hex will just keep a massive army of 7.5 million people. In the long run, we have the same problems as what Archi feared -- the sole reason why he imposed this rule.

And no cap. Or else it gets silly. Imagine TFed in the first Hegemony with a cap of 500k troops? Impossible to defend.

Army cap is determined by logistics really. Sending an army of 5 million across the globe to go invade nowhereistan is going to result in them dieing of starvation.

So then we have one guy with a maxed out army of 5 million, and someone with a maxed out army of 1 million. Guess the winner.

No, definitely not. Hex gets his advantage of manpower. But when he wants to supply, clothe, house, and arm 7.5 million dudes, he'll pay the price.

It'll be quite easy though. If we all send 100,000 troops to China and send them in different places, rampaging around, he can't stop them all. All the fighting will wreck his infrastructure too.
