Too much space between the laces, I think the heel is right though. Derbies without a heel are like a rod without a reel (I'm so sorry about that). The main reason being the light coloured sole gets much much much darker and the contrast is lost. Still a good boot though.I don't like the contrast and leather always looks better with age. Also Clark is the original trendsetter since they've been more or less around for decades (if it's not me then I won't allow it to be anyone else). How do they deal with snow? I wanted to buy some for this winter but I looked at the sole and I wasn't convinced of the grip and warmth, so I bought cheap brogue boots from Aldo. I obviously avoid throwing myself in snowbanks when I wear them because they don't go up your ankle that much and some snow gets in if your pants don't fit perfectly. The grip is surprisingly good, I don't fear walking on ice with them on (I never fear ice, but these do have good traction). As for warmth, it's pretty bad.
