I don't like them a whole lot as a shoe. Mostly because of their scene kid stigma around here. They're also so expensive, but everyone I know has their pair disintegrate within months.

Not enough function, for me.

Look like grandad slippers, and I''d be seen dead wearing them in public. But i'd happily have a pair of those slippers at home. I prefer solid slipons.

Toms don't last long and aren't great when you live in a rainy city like I do.

I will put my boots on.

I will pass on down the corridor.

Huh. I like The Style Blogger. Had I the funds, I would have a style very similar to his (although probably with more working-class influences rather than urban, and more bow ties).

Man, I just wish I had a bit more money. I'm really wanting to get some nice shirts, one solid and two patterned.

Look at all these classy boys haha

So everyone's favorite style blogs? Since Lent brought it up.

I've been a big fan of www.askmen.com ever since Lent posted it a bit ago, and I've been reading a bit of a tailored suit since he posted it as well.

Another note, my mom ordered me Christmas stuff off JCPenney earlier today.

Cardigans - http://[Censored for time being].com/2djgqwn and http://[Censored for time being].com/26djtdh

Pea Coat - http://[Censored for time being].com/2axlx2w

A Pair of Corduroy Pants (Never had these before by my mom said they're nice)

3 Colored T-Shirts

A Pair of Dark Brown Boat Shoes

A Few Dress Shirts

Can't wait for Christmas :)

Definitely The Style Blogger - mentioned above. That guy has class. After that, it would probably be the style articles on the Art of Manliness, though they can get a bit dull.

Cool! I like the more classic things. AskMen's clothes sections have been letting me down lately. Their old articles are pretty fantastic - not too traditional, not to trendy. Antonio writes for A Tailored Suit and Art of Manliness (another guy in the AoM community writes the occasional style article); I like his a lot. Very classic, but in a way nobody looks at, incorporating boutonnieres and such like it ain't no thing. Then, I also like Men's Flair. A lot more of it is about the fashion industry at large, and English style, but, hey. A lot of good stuff. Rules for my Unborn Son is just fun, as is The Selvedge Yard. That's about it these days, with the occasional peek at GQ and Esquire.

What does OT Classy people think of Toms?

http://www.toms.com/mens/grey-flannel-men-s-classics

I was against TOMS for the longest time but I finally caved this past August and bought a pair and they are absolutely amazing pair of shoes for what they are. They're surprisingly really comfortable. I would recommend them more as a summer shoe though since you don't want to wear socks with them.

My favorite is probably Sartorially Inclined, because Lawrence posts a lot, and I like almost every bit of it. But I read a bit more than 15 style(ish) blogs, and then some through Valet. They'll have good and bad, some more bad than good, but that's inevitable and necessary.

Camera guy: Hoooholy [bleep]!

Matt: FUNNY ISN'T REAL! FUNNY ISN'T REAL!

Went to Goodwill today. Scored some sweet tasseled wingtip loafers (WHAAAAA?). Not my usual, but they called to me. Sort of a cordovan color, too. And a red-pink-navy-gray button-down, from Gap. I look obscenely sexy in it. Maybe I'll post pictures sometime. Also found a Banana Republic polo sweater for my brother. Seemed like something he'd like.

I destroyed my favorite dress shoes (I actually kind of disliked them) in mud. If I ever get them clean (it's a type of kaliche mixed with whatever you find in quarries/toxic waste dumps), they'll be messed up for life. They were already distressed: cheap Wal-Mart brand, my brother had them for four years, I've had them for three. Guess it'll be a blessing if GOODWILL WOULD JUST COME THROUGH GAH.

Wait! Right after Christmas, I bet they get tons of stuff. Probably not too long after Thanksgiving, either. Because I kind of need some for some speeches and interviews I'm giving in ... Two weeks? Two weeks. Augh.

If your chest size is 40 and you want a very inexpensive Harris Tweed jacket, I highly recommend you check out this sports coat. Orvis is known for their heavy outdoors gear, so you're sure this sports coat will last you a long time. Has suede patches at the shoulder and on the elbows. Great if you plan on hunting, I suppose.

Rocked up last night wiht a bowtie on. Felt like the [bleep]ing man. The theme was Ties, so I wore a bowtie. Everyone else wore neckties. Red silk, on a white and grey striped shirt. Chose the red to balance the patterned nature of the shirt.

Where can I get some nice, black oxford shoes? Not too expensive, mind you.

2257AD.TUMBLR.COM

ASOS springs to mind.

lampost_sig_stark.png

Are you still growing in foot size? How long do you need your shoes to last? What's your budget?

Asos is good, if you're willing to shell out more (100 pounds, approximately), look at Florsheim. Not as good as those high-end Aldens, but still available with a lot of the features of great dress shoes.

Seems very good. Especially considering the amount of measurements they ask for. What are the prices on the shirts and jackets?

Just gotta throw this out there, but I love the new design of Askmen.com

It's a nice update, I don't like how bright it is now though. I think it takes a bit away the content of the website.

What content?

[Edit] I'm being unfair. Their "Sexy Break" section is top notch.

The whole thing, the new color layout of the site. It used to be somewhat of a dark theme and now there is a lot more white, which I just don't like as much but I'll get used to it soon enough. Overall though the sites a lot more organized and cleaner.
