Come on, man, you'll never be classy if you don't know how to flash your argyle socks.

I'd only wear colored socks if my outfit is dull. Otherwise, neutrals.

I wear trainer socks with my high-tops if I'm wearing some 3/4 lengths.

I wear ankle socks, with my Vans. Or socks with my flip flops if I'm feeling German.

I like to go way off with my socks. Because it is more fun. I don't have any outlandishly colored ones, just light brownish-khaki colored ones. But they do the job.

Black coated jeans (these), classy or no? Don't really care if they are or not will probs buy them anyway, but I'm wondering what belt colour to wear with them. Would (dark-ish) brown be okay or should I get a black one? White is horrible imo.

Also I've got black dress shoes, can I wear those under black jeans or is that just too black?

Brown (shoes) and black (pants) tends to look bad. I'm not really one for black jeans, though - just so blue they look black. But it's your dealio.

Black is hard to mix with other neutrals, whereas you can easily have brown and blue in the same outfit. That's why I'd try to keep only my accessories and shoes black, and even then it's not easy to wear. As Lent said, raw indigo denim is a safe bet. I'm not a fan of coated jeans but if that's what floats your boat then get them.

I think black jeans go well with a lot of the stuff I wear. For e.g;

That's from urban outfitters but Diesel sell a lot of shoes that go really well with black jeans like those.

It's really the collared shirt with shorts that I'm wondering about. I like the look, but it's too dressy for me to wear normally, so I wore it out to a casual restaurant this past summer.

I do it. Hard to look good in summer here, so I do that. You need very thin, very casual shirts. Linen would rock, else extremely thin cotton.

You have three options when you're wearing shorts:

-no socks

-no-show socks.

-looong socks (but not so long the reach your shorts!)

 

This isn't dressy at all by the way, you can wear this every day if the weather allows it. Even if your shirt is tucked in, which I recommend. Belts are the best, man.

 

Shiny, I find shorts with blazers silly too. I also think the casual/formal look is silly too though, so don't mind me.

I have a sailor stripe sweater that's a little thin for winter. I want to find something warm to wear underneath. It shouldn't be visible, and therefore have a pretty solid scoop neck. Long sleeves are a plus. Where can I find her?

Yeah, my roommate has done it and his jeans turned out pretty good.

I fell in mud with my white jeans on, I hemmed them and now I have white shorts. If you're afraid to mess up get a professional to do it, it'll cost you like five pounds.

I wouldn't shop online for clothes. If you browse through a shop you're more likely to spot something you'll love, and you can get clothes tailored.
