totalpwnage
With the new dungeoneering weapons, would any of these be viable for PvP awesomeness? -range/metal armor with sighted magic longbow-chaotic mauler (1 attack, high strength, 70 defense, 80 dung) Just a thought.Pretty sure maul is 80 attack BUT the chaotic staff can be wielded at 1 attack provided that you have 80 magic. We already have seen someone by the name of Redpaperhat with the Chaotic maul and it's pretty crazy on a pure. I'd really like to see some of the sighted longbow in action, especially in f2p. I'd also like to see some of the damage bonuses for mage put to work too. Started free trade with 1.5m cash. 2 weeks later, have hit max cash 2x. PvP drops: 359 Brawling Gloves, 11 Vesta's Longswords, 41+ Zaros/Ancient Statues9 Dragon Full Helms, 3 Dragonfire Shields on the old PvP loot system Brawler guide is being finished! yuriqiu
Sighted Mage Long is overrated, tested it against Broad Bolts on Rune cross, Rune crossbow does way faster dps than the Sighted Mage Long. Not sure about maple though. Cba to go f2p and test it.

Although when he does win he has some insane hits, but if it weren't for his vengers he'd never win. However I am sure you will see a lot of kids like this in about 2-3 months. 61,358th to 99 range on May 23rd, 2010.100,927th to 99 def on February 13th, 2011. Not sure about maple though. Cba to go f2p and test it. But with the sighted bow, my idea was that one could use it with rune armor in F2P and kick some [wagon]. Not sure if it'd work, but with the huge +range bonus, it MIGHT.
12pure34
In F2P it does work. But mostly against other rangers. Ofcourse mages own you hard all of the sudden. The maple long sighted is pretty accurate and great for sniping. But against a normal melee full rune, you will still have a hard time and perhaps lose. Squisher_33
i thinks its backwards, i think rapier is best for pues because assuming they fight other pures, the dps is much greater meaning since their def is 0 basicly, the rapier out damages the maul any day however on mains, the maul we know is the most accurate with 167 crush attack alone, so against someone with 90 def in full rune i think maul might out damage the rapier

Napalm
pures are for losers m8Implying there are people who play Runescape that aren't losers. No greentextan here, mate. OT: As pures always do with any combat update, they adapt to make the most out of it. We've already seen some very interesting pures that use summoning, and I think dungeoneering will cause a similar reaction. We still have to wait to see the batch 2 items to be sure, though. Rose_2_Pure
Chaotic Maul requires 80 Attack is a touch better than AGS. I fought a Pure(as a pure) with it the other day(he was 80 99 1) who was using just maul and he would hit quite hard, typically a 350-400, his max was a 600 or so, and had he planned it out a bit better he would have absolutely destroyed me(Chaotic to Gmaul, MSB to Chaotic, etc). So while it is a very capable weapon, the only thing it will really do is increase the amount of Pures already in existence killing Rune Pures(crush). Oh, and the staff is worse than the Obsidian Maul. Good for an Obsidian Mauler who is using Magic, though, albeit he'd have to be 99 Strength to not be wasting his combat on Mage and would be better off getting 20 Att, a C. VLS and 94 Magic. So the Pures already in existence will take advantage of this like they did Godswords and such if they please, and are willing to get 80 Dung. Other than that nothing new was brought to the table. EDIT:Oh and regarding the Maple Longbow w/ Sight:The reason no one uses Longbows is universal, they're too slow to be of use. Unless it significantly increases the damage from 17(F2P max) to around 22 and increases the Accuracy then I can't imagine it being of any significant use. It would have no "KO" potential which is the main reason people use Scims > Longswords, as R2H will hit quicker, as well as why people use Maple Shortbow to R2H. Not to mention if the Sight increased the Longbow's damage output enough to be of any significance it would require a heft F2P mage update and Jagex does not seem willing to allow Blood Runes and Tangle in F2P, even though both Waves and Surges deal about the same damage as Melee does at it's equal level, except Melee is still faster.
