Nadril
NEW [hide=Large][/hide] Created using Terragen 2 and Photoshop CS5. I'm starting to get a handle on surface maps (textures) in Terragen 2 and likewise on atmospheres. Plus I have an awesome post process technique that makes them look great :P. Georgelemmons
That water looks extremely brushy. I don't know if that's normal or not. Other than that, it's awesome  Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <
Nadril
Yeah I don't really know many of the water related settings yet. Much different than the Terragen (1) settings.
obfuscator
Same as above, water looks weird. Other than that, looks very nice :) "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
Soa
I'm not good at surface maps and you need an awesome atmosphere, which I'm pro at. :D Cool looking none the less.
Shiny
I agree with Soa, with one thing I might add. Why are all the clouds lame-looking in Terragen? Every single time I have generated a cloud, in terragen 1 and 2 they looked uncool...
Soa
Choose the 3D clouds instead 2D, if that's what you're doing. Then experiment with the settings.
Nadril
Yeah I can never get good results with 3D clouds. Need to just mess with it more.

Shiny
My thing came out grainy and lame - Help me NADRIL. What render settings are you using, and how long do they take? And your awesome post process skills? This is just a screenshot, as well. Final render was rubbish and I forgot to save.

Nadril
Alright. [hide][/hide] Really basic but explains what I do and shows the render settings. To be honest though the only real set in stone method I use is the gradient map soft light/overlay. I find it really helps. I tend to really experiment a lot with settings. Skully
I don't know why as it's pretty simple, but I really like your text.
DementedHero
Looks good man. I never really got into Terragen, especially not Terragen 2, got confused big time, so i just gave up xD. About the colors, Selective Color is also very cool to mess around with. Looks a bit too light here on the dark background, but oh well:I find it has a bit more control over the colors than you have with color balance. Soa
How about a little shaders tutorial. Detail on mountains confuse me with the max/min alt. constraints. Then I can help you with something if you want. D: Edit: Probably the best I can do.

dsavi
I think I get the interface of Terragen 2, it suddenly makes sense. It's all node based.
Shiny
Took your time, Davis.... Haha. It is, but I find the node network hard to get to grips, and I don't know how to do good textures in it, and atmospheres, and such. Very confused. I just play with the sliders. I do now how to make decent 3D cumulus clouds.

Then increase the depth to like 400-500 and coverage. Then increase the jitter samples or something so it won't look grainy when rendering.
