What is with the constant loading every minute when im changing zones , my game just freezes during that period .

I've noticed a lot more lag since the release of dungeoneering. i have no idea what these zones are that your talking about though

lets say runescape is divided into many small areas . zones and going through them is horrible

say ur going to varrock from fally and u couldnt tele

and sometimes wen ur looking on ur minimap you see a black part

and it takes awhile to load

and i think even longer for teleing

but that was just me

Totally get what your talking about, it takes me around 7 seconds to finish the loading screen, and I don't even play fullscreen. And this only happened lately, since the release of Dungeoneering probably, and it sucks :angry:

exact same thing has been happening to me as well. Gets so annoying.

My game never really lagged at all, taking about 1 second to get through loading screens - now I'm on about 3-4 seconds which literally slows down my walking. I can only imagine how bad it is to have a 7 second lag :unsure:

It doesn't usually bother me because I'm so used to it and it's part of the restrictions that come with being a browser-based Java game.

 

It's a royal pain in the behind in Mobilizing Armies, though. A big part of why that minigame sucks so much.

I think the lag has died once i changed to sun java in the java settings on internet explorer

I've never experienced this at all, and I run the DirectX graphics setting with every custom setting at maximum in full screen. Is it ever loading area, or is it just certain ones I don't go through?

It didn't get much worse for me. I don't mind it, though, unless it lags me right out (which does occasionally happen).

I hear that. Try playing RS - even RSC - on dial-up for a few years (as I had to when I started) and you'll realize that 7 second loads are nothing compared to the 30 second delays I had to suffer. Compared to that, a 3-4 second delay is a mere blink of time, and a 7 second delay is a short sigh.

Try turning your graphics settings down. Also, your problem could simply come down to available bandwidth. Are you running any other programs that would be using up bandwitdth (torrents, other web pages, etc...)?

^ This. I'm fairly certain that this is caused by the massive amount of new area that dungeoneering created. Tons of new designs, and animations, and just new floorspace. That, and there are like 4 worlds per server, so each server got roughly 4x the new area. It seems to me that this could bog the servers down, especially since each person is instanced in Dungeoneering, thus creating even more stuff the server has to handle.

I have a fast computer. My DL speed is over 20 MBPS and UL is over 16. The computer itself has a good sized processor, and I use task manager to shut down as many processes as possible. Even when PC usage is at like 50%, I still lag a bit. This is even on safe mode.

 

Something really needs to be done.... like having Dungeoneering only worlds, nothing else can be used.

The lag started with dungeoneering but most people's cleared up. The new graphics they switched too has made people who had no lag on hd have uber lag now. So no, it's not dungeoneering it's Jagex's constant need/want to eff with the graphics.

Usually, I only get that once, and that's the first time I load the area on that computer.

 

Did you try playing around with the graphics settings?
