Demoli
Revealed in an interview with Gametrailers, a Sony executive claimed there won't be a sequel to the actual PSP, instead they are focusing on their current model. Source Do you think this campain is a good move, a suicide act thanks to the (3)DS or a farewell from the handheld market by Sony? I think it's the second option since Ds has a wider catalog of games and 3DS is more potent grafics-wise than the PS2 (some say in the level of Gamecube or Xbox original). meb
Handhelds don't need good graphics imo. Look at mario and pokemon. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Misterknowitall
I think it's not that bad that there is no PSP2 yet. Nintendo is releasing new hardware every few years, wich is very expensive to those who wish to keep up to date. I personally stopped caring after I bought a GBC.I must admit though, that the 3DS looks really impressive. I might buy it if the games are good and if it's affordable. John Halo Chief
I actually kind of considered the Go to be the sequel. And they have 3 versions of the original. What else could they do with it? The graphics are incredible, and game play is straightforward.
Seraphi
I think Sony is trying to slowly phase out of the handheld market with this plan, yeah. It just seems as if the 3DS is going to swing that particular avenue right into Nintendo's control.
InkofDeath
I think Sony wants to wait on releasing a PSP2 just because they have no idea what it is going to happen with the iPhone or the 3DS. To me it feels like they are just going to wait and see where the handheld market goes and then build off of that. That or they have something up their sleeve that is going to take us by surprise in 2011.
Tim
Because unlike Nintendo, Sony plan their handheld software/hardware with lots of detail. Nintendo seems to be popping out a DS model every year. Popoto.~<
Demoli
If you wana be face forward, the PSP had probably the weakest software lienup of the two, only advantaging on the hardware front, now with the 3DS, which has not only 3d screens but better online and grafics this spells disaster for Sony's handhelds. Also, PSP never had a good planning, it was left in the dark for too long, giving yet another advantage to the DS. They seem to only have remembered they hav an handheld this year with the 3DS being so talked.
Sam
Sony waited a while to announce Move so I expect it'd be the same case with a 2nd generation PSP. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM

Kimberly
This has been Sony's strategy from day 1: do what you should've done from the beginning at least a year later. It's the thing that always costs them the console race. Always. It's a shame they still shoot themselves in the foot.
