ooh, ur clever silly person, i guess i brought this on myself, actually trying to get involved in a post, a post i actually have something in common with. Guess what? tip.it people flame all over because they dont kno crap about systems, some do, others ur system is beating a friggin' spoon on a tin can.

you could end all of this by posting what your system consists of, but for some reason you dont feel like doing that. thats as good as saying "i lied".

35 cubic feet ported box. inside of the box are two 15 inch memhpis mojo speakers. Then, I have 4x Di 500 wat amps, connecting all those from outside, i have two battery savors hooked up to two batteries. Last, a wire runs from the main car battery back to one of the other batteries. My system i can never have really up load, because that is bearly enough juice to keep it going. I was thinking of installing a solar panel strip on the top of my car and running a wire and connecting it to one of my batteries, but i figured that would never really help.

By the way, as anyone with speakers know, the type of box you have can really amplify how hard your speakers hit. So just because my speakers wont hit hard, i had a custom box built at my custom audio concepts in town for $380 bucks. Those with system, ported boxes make a huge impact on how well your system hits compared to none ported because i had both.

I am not the best at hooking systems up, or electronics. The people at custom audio installed it for free, considering I got everything I needed from there. Hope now, you can atleast see im not pulling this stuff outta no where and posting it on here for attention. My system is set up so I have my box mounted in the front, showing the speakers towards the back door, with my two battery savors on the far left and right with my 5 amps between them. I'd take pics for you.. but aint got a digital Camera, and pulling pics off the internet is useless for this because I cant see anyone with the same set up.

This post sounds smart, your previous posts made no sense. 190 db can easily kill someone with undeveloped eardrums (which is less than 27 years old).

I drive a Saturn, so my "rig" is not "pimped". I have Saturn stocks in front, Pioneer 6x6's in back, and a Pioneer stereo that owns all (except stereos that are more expensive than it).

not dissing you in any way, but aren't xplods from walmart?? Also, if i am not mistake, Xplod 12 icnhes can get 1.1max wat power, are you going to get more than 700 wats pushing them both, it'll make em hit harder.

Otherwise, nice system to play around with and make people turn heads!

I had my one friend create a CD with just one loud "thump" you could say. The thump was just made to hit extremely hard. And the hardest db your goin to get our of your car is RIGHT beside the right passenger speaker.

thats the only way it got up to 190.. Still don't believe me is fine.. i cant beat anyone into believing me something they dont want to.

One of my other friends has 2x 15 inch T1's. His hits extremely hard too. I was wondering if anyone else had/has them to tell me what kind of set up you have with urs. He won our country fair speaker contest

I still fail to believe you on the 190 db because that would shatter the safety glass. As Runesmithie stated earlier, thats almost like a bomb going off 6 feet away from you.

And the current record is 170 db. If you can break that, then you should contact someone to get your name in the record books.

I don't know, it could *possibly* be 190db with that sound only. I bet there's a standardized song/sound/whatever for the "official" tests that isnt as loud

xplods are junk, budget wise, Pioneer gets my vote. Xplod CAN get decently loud, if in a proper ported enclosure.

Even if it is possible, what exactly is the use of paying for a 'system' that you can't even fully 'enjoy'?

People love to show off, thats why :P

My eardrums are pretty well screwed, did a test when I was a baby, they discovered I couldn't hear above 120+ dB.

http://edition.cnn.com/2003/TECH/ptech/ ... ereo.kill/

Just a couple of extracts from that article. Pay attention to the bold parts:

dB (as in decibel) drag racing is an obscure but growing international "sport" in which competitors go head-to-head for two or three seconds at a time -- hence the name drag racing -- to establish whose sound system is loudest. The 2002 record, set by a German team of secretive audio engineers, was 177.6 dB.

Such noise would turn your brain to tofu if it weren't generated into uninhabited, tightly sealed space, such as the interior of a vintage Caravan. Competitors in the Extreme class bolt doors shut. Irving uses industrial jig clamps and a threaded one-inch steel rod and nut through the window for extra security. Drag racers replace windows and windshields with Plexiglas up to two inches thick, secure panels with turnbuckles fit for an America's Cup racer and, in some cases, fill the doors with concrete. Then, while the tone burst is generated, team members lie spread-eagled on the roof and push against the car from the outside to bolster it that little extra bit. One Extreme competitor in search of ultimate stiffness used an armored truck, so we can expect to see Iraq-campaign M1A1 Abrams tanks doing sonic smoky burnouts as soon as they're declared surplus.

So what you're saying is your stereo is louder than a system built by a team of German audio engineers, who had to completely modify the whole car just to stop it from falling apart when they turned the volume up?

To quote the film 'Super Troopers': "I'll believe that when my * turns purple, and smells like rainbow sherbert".

One thing that astounds me about topics like these, is that people seem to have so many thousands of pounds/dollars worth of equipment, but they never have any pictures of the car. What a surprise.

Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.

A team of secret German audio engineers. Cooool. 8)

I don't know what's scarier, the fact they were German or that they were lying on a car doing 170+db :P

Well, what do you expect? :P

Dont know why everyone always says how crap Xplod is.

My brother had a 17'inch Subby in his car with two 1,000 watt amps..

Got very loud when he had it turn near full.

Its garbage, if you've heard any REAL sub you'd understand. I'm sure we all think its good when its all we know, but you've only hit the tip of the iceberg sub wise.

Meh. I dunno much about them, but I do have a fairly good set-up considering I bought everything for a discount (after I bought it all, I had hints from the dude I got the stuff from that a couple items might be "hot". At the time I wasn't thinking "stolen"... so uh... not my fault  ):

Front - x2 Infinity 6-1/2" Loudspeakers ~ $100 even (saved $100)

Back - x2 Infinity 5" by 7" Loudspeakers ~ $100 even (saved $100)

Amp - Infinity 1200 Watt Class D Subwoofer Amplifier ~ $475 (saved about... $50)

Subwoofers - x2 KAPPA PERFECT12.1D 12" Die-Cast High-Output ~ $400 (saved $241)

Not the best. But it is quite good. I dunno what kind of box I have to be honest. MY brother gave it to me. It is however all plexiglass. Friend of mine just order a 1500 watt Amp (dunno what kind) along with 2 12" . Can't wait to hear that thing :P .

Yeah and most the subs I hear are pathetic.

But you can think what you like.

Think? I know. sheesh, I've been installing these things for years. Its all up to your personal preferance, but don't question my knowledge of this subject matter.
