Well the Mongols will invade somewhere north of the Black sea, meaning either somewhere in Kiev or through the Turkish tribes. Either way, most of the terrain is either steppe (basically it has permafrost, but it has sharp cliffs and stuff), or plains. There are also some coniferous forests. If someone could dig up a terrain map, that would be great.

The regular run of the mill ones would be around 250. Skirmishers that can usually stand up against an enemy would probaly be 400, and elite ones, 500.

a skirmisher is a powerfull light infantry unit.. best used with spears and axes. equiped with leatehr armor, and fast with their weapons and their feet. deadly if used in the corrct situations. and, kk retech.. ill put it in the hegonomy stuffies PM

look at retechs post. said it was going to be somewhere from urky or northern kiev. thought a map of turky may assist in some respects.

Okay, as I recall, the mongolians were expert archers, so the cliffs really do not help... We need a way to turn it back on them, and I think I might just have such a way.

And Retech, I want all of my 2,000 agents reassigned. Their new duty is to keep discreet watch over Kiev, particularly the border, for the purpose of monitoring Mongol incursions. They are to wear cloth covering their face, minus the mouth and eyes. If capture is imminent, they are to commit suicide for the sake of Europe. It is preferable to die in a way preventing the enemy from discovering the body. The accepted casualty rate is the same as their previous assignment.

Ja. I think I forgot to update your treasury. Here's a map that we could use, if you guys like it. Doesn't really matter to me, but the better the map you can find, the better you can abuse the terrain in your favor. If there is no map, I will use the "average" terrain of the country, which for most is plains.
