Dax
I'd only bother with the level threes. I've done a few twos and ones over time and they're never worth it. #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod
Dire_Wolf
Jellies are the best clue dropper. Ankous drop clues very rarely.
svs
As been said, it's random SirHemen. And since it's random you should either: 1. Kill monsters that have good drops (usually these have loads of hp)2. Kill monsters with not that good drops and low HP so you might just get clues faster.Option one is not what you're looking for i guess. There's also a third option, i wonder why people pick it though3. Kill monsters with high hp, high defences, no weaknesses, no loot and no charms. Hellhound: 1160 HpFavored by many people for clues, why i don't know.Just like greaters there's a few of them in the wilderness volcano, if you had to pick between greaters or hellhounds only a fool would choose hellhounds. They have lots of HP and no drops, that's twice the loss if you kill them for clues.Thrice the loss if can't exploit their weakness (do they actually have any?)Quadriple loss if you're looking for charms, 90% of the dropped charms are gold. They're defenitly not weak versus stab or slash, i haven't tried to crush them as i lack a good crushing weapon. Greater demon: 870 hpThere's a few of them in the wildy volcano with a bank very close nearby. They don't have lots of HP have weakness to stab, slash and magic and drop a rune large every ~90 kills.Along with the usual keyhalves and gem drops and a crimsom charm drop every ~4.2 kills. Ankou: 700 HPAlso favored by many but usually always packed, there are moments where you can find a totally empty spawn, however. They don't have any weaknesses but because they have low HP they take pretty much around the same amount of hits (not damage) to kill.Good drops, less HP than a greater demon but they dish out pretty much the same damage, the downfall is that the bank is a bit further away than if you would kill greaters in the volcano and use the bank there. All in all if you can find a non packed spawn then ankous would be your best shot, because of one reason. The average money gained per hour by selling loot from ankous is about 4 times greater than if you would sell loot from greater demons. If it's packed go kill greaters in the volcano. I two hit hells almost every kill, hellhounds have almost no def and get clues WAAAAAYYYY more often from them then greaters. But I do agree killing greaters is a good option because of the mix of decent drops and charms. aspeeder
The only lvl 2 droppers that I can think of are pyrefiends, but that's because their clue gave me ranger boots so... :-D Personally I would go with blue dragons since they have a high profit no matter what, aren't too hard to kill, and aren't as crowded as green drags. http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww6/aspeeder/Siggy_zpsewaiux2t.png 99 Strength since 6/02/10 99 Attack since 9/19/10 99 Constitution since 10/03/10 99 Defense since 3/14/11 99 Slayer since 8/30/11 99 Summoning since 9/10/11 99 Ranged since 09/18/11 99 Magic since 11/12/11 99 Prayer since 11/15/11 99 Herblore since 3/29/12 99 Firemaking since 5/15/12 99 Smithing since 10/04/12 99 Crafting since 9/16/13 99 Agility since 9/23/13 99 Dungeoneering since 1/1/14 99 Fishing since 2/4/14 99 Mining since 2/28/14 99 Farming since 6/04/14 99 Cooking since 6/11/14 99 Runecrafting since 10/10/14 9 Fletching since 11/11/14 99 Thieving since 11/14/14 99 Woodcutting since 11/20/14 99 Construction since 12/03/14 99 Divination since 2/22/15 99 Hunter since 2/23/15 99 Invention since 01/20/17 99 Archaeology since 5/14/22 99 Necromancy since 11/22/25 Quest Point Cape since 08/20/09 Maxed since 2/23/15 Fire Cape since 02/27/13 Slayer: 3 Leaf-Bladed Swords, 8 Black Masks, 2 Hexcrests, 26 Granite Mauls, 5 Focus Sights, 33 Abyssal Whips, 9 Dark Bows, 1 Whip Vine, 3 Staffs of Light, 15 Polypore Sticks Dragon: 10 Draconic Visages, 7 Shield Left Halves, 20 Dragon Boots, 40 Dragon Med Helms, 8 Dragon Platelegs, 6 Dragon Spears, 20 Dragon Daggers, 5 Dragon Plateskirts, 1 Dragon Chainbody, 63 Off-hand Dragon Throwing Axes, 19 Dragon Longswords, 27 Dragon Maces, 1 Dragon Ward Treasure Trails: Saradomin Full Helm, Ranger Boots, Rune Body (t), Saradomin Vambraces, Various God Pages Misc:1 Onyx,1 Ahrim's Hood, 1 Guthan's Chainskirt, 1 Demon Slayer Boots

All drops are random, and just like other drops clues have higher and lower drop rates for different monsters. Hellhounds drop clues MUCH more often then greaters or ankous. I would kill hellhounds, they have VERY low defense (svs is wrong), and are easy safespoted in tavelry if you wish to range. Pyrefiends and guards are a good choice for level 2s and goblins or men are a good choice for level 1s. DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers ringsQBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow partsCR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size....It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty). atestarossa
For level one clue scrolls pickpocketing ham members are the fastest way of getting them. If you're not to keen on the idea of pickpocketing, then killing men, or other low levelled creatures would be okay, but it's quite much slower than pickpocketing Hellhounds are the most frequent droppers of level 3 clue scrolls, but with no other drops though. Jellies, greater demons, just doing slayer assignments are good enough, and quite fun. For level 2's I'm not entirely sure myself, as I haven't done them as much, but either harpy bug swarms or pyrefiends are good choices, I guess. They have very many creatures at each spawn, so you won't spend time waiting for them (f.ex. guards) to respawn.
