LatinII
It sucks. On the modern spell book it's incredibly hard to hybrid with it at places like tds because you have to right click a spell to manually cast it, because you autocast it if you left click the spell. It has been fixed in Daemonheim so why can't they fix it beyond Daemonheim aswell? How difficult can it possibly be?! I don't understand why this hasn't been fixed yet. Autocasting is also very slow. At places like SC where I have Ice Barrage set on autocast, whenever I click on a target there's this delay before I actually attack it. At least when I manually select a spell I actually attack my target immediately! And sometimes the autocasting just stops working and I stop attacking them so I have to click on my target again. I don't know why it does this, but it is very annoying at places where summons spawns on top of the players, making clicking on them very difficult at times. Oh, and stop casting spells when I switch to a crossbow or something! Okay that's it. I'm done ranting.

I agree fully with your sentiments, as I also wonder why Jagex didn't have the smarts to just simply do those things already. Heck, mage/range is STILL underpowered in F2P (Except in Daemonheim) to some extent, which is not much fun at all. :? About the best workaround, until those things are fixed, that I can suggest is to keep an eye on your combat style, and watch your spellbook too. Sorry. :( ~D. V. Nomrombom
Support. Manual cast should be the left click option. Also, I hate it when in FoG people bring in familiars and spam the "call familiar" button so that the familiar keeps reappearing. Every time it reappears, the attack/follow/walk here menu closes, and you have to click again, and it just happens over and over. I just flame them, because that is the only tactic that is unacceptable. It's almost cheating. PM me for fitocracy invite
Lep
JaGeX are [bleep]ing idiots. Know quick prayers? Know quick summoning? How hard is this? Right click staff -> select quick spell -> equipping staff autocasts the spell and unequipping staff stops autocasting spell. Real [bleep]ing hard to understand... LEG1ON
Its not as if f2p mage isnt useless enough. Lol maybe its their intention to make f2p so pathetically underpowered that all players demand fixing. Then perhaps they believe they could justify themselves and point to all the public outcry. That way they could avoid a history repeat. -Food for thought  Runescape Magic Guide

Omali
I had this problem while fighting the lady in Love Story, because you pretty much have to switch between range/mage to kill her (I don't own a halberd), so I kept stumbling when she would protect from range and I'd have to switch to a magic spell to cast before she'd switch to mage protect. Quyneax
You can actually kill her without a halberd, I used dds for example. You only use range to flick her prayer, once. But I agree, autocast should not be left-click. Ideally, you should be able to choose, even (though why you'd want it to be left-click is beyond me). WalterArcher
Autocasting can be used in conjunction with normal blog that would add more liveliness to users. The way autocasting combat spells works so that it no longer requires a magic staff. Now, you can set a spell to autocast via the redesigned Magic Spellbook interface. This change is designed to make autocasting spells easier and more intuitive. We must be the change we want to see

Obtaurian
I completely agree. I would actually consider using fire surge at TDs if I could just right-click to cast. The modern spellbook would be so much more useful for certain types of combat. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

xpandax
I agree mate, but remember this is the same stupid company that took away the wildy. *facedesk* We've been over this a thousand times, do we need to walk you through why it was necessary again? We still have the wilderness on BH worlds, so clearly, removing the wilderness was not necessary. Making a change to the trade limit and re-working how our drops worked in pvp was necessary. There is no reason why jagex had to take away pking as we all knew and loved it for 2 years, until they finally conceptualized BH worlds. I offered a suggestion eerily similar to BH worlds the week of the RWT updates, it was the first thing that came to my mind and yet it took the development team 2 years to make it a reality. There were hundreds of suggestions by frustrated pkers the weeks after the RWT updates many of them were realistic and would have solved the RWT problem without drastically changing pvp in runescape as it was. Sir_Kurity
We've been over this a thousand times, do we need to walk you through why it was necessary again? Because apparently jagex would get sued? The same way every other game company has gotten sued over... ... oh wait, thats never happened to any other game company. *Not saying i agree or disagree with the changes, i personally love new PVP and BH worlds, just saying it was hardly "necessary' O.O
Nomrombom
It WAS necessary for Jagex because it was a fairly easy method of RWT. The new dangerous PVP methods are not very RWT'able. Jagex had to do it to complete the removal of RWT. And if you're going to argue your point, Eos, at least use reason instead of just telling me to shut up. Thanks for that, i especially loved the part where you didnt even read my post. I wasent arguing that it wasent an easy way of RWTing, i was arguing that the removal of RWT is/was hardly "necessary" And if you're going to argue your point, Eos, at least use reason instead of just telling me to shut up. I recall posting reasons, and i dont recall telling you to shut up. As i said, i love the part where you didnt even read my post.
