Woah they both sound pretty kickass O-o.   I vote for either.

Effectively with dungeoneering you could have a hegemony experience, running a ship or just killing the leader of an empire and taking control.

2/3 wars survived. Remind me how many wars the US has been in? :P

The only difference between a disagreement between friends, an argument between strangers, and a feud between enemies is the ability to reconcile.

Okay Mather, have fun while I send in ships to blow up that tower, plunging your forces into chaos.

I'll be over here ignoring your tech due to lack of being any threat

One internal, three outside their country, one that never happened and one current anti-terrorist action in the middle east.

Ross, that will be the most confusing war ever; out of two robotic races one suddenly sends its ship the long way to the other only to blow up four ships that are stationary.

Revolutionary War - Won

War of 1812 - Unclear (Probaly British victory though)

Civil War - "Won"

Spanish-American - Won

World War 1 - Won

World War 2 - Won

Korean War - Stalemate

Vietnam War - Loss

Iraq War - Ongoing

Afghanistan - Ongoing

Just some wars that I got off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are more. That makes the American record... 10/10 for wars that didn't destroy them. Let's face it, the Asurans failed. :P

p sure we (the west) is losing in iraq/afghan

'Tis I, 'tis Vindice, 'tis I!

Civil war - America fights itself, claims victory.

:P

There's still one odd thing, Edel keeps considdering this war as some epic battle, though it would be more like 09.11 x2 with terrorists from almost all over the world.

That might have something to do with your arguements being mostly spam, threats and idiocy.

Not at all:[hide]

Ah, okay. Well then I make my lasers that size so that I can fire 1,000 at a time (since that is apparently okay) thus neutralizing all drones at once.

Fair enough, then I do that with my proton torpedo tubes instead, which gives me... 48,000 torpedoes launched per second. 1,000 kill the drones, the rest blow up your ship.

@Mather - okay, I do exactly what you do, except I do it more, and better.

Actually, Rocco, I am saying that it is underpowered.

Archi will decide the strength of the weapons, shields and features (Not a TV show based around already ludicrous technology) so that is not a concern in any way, since I trust Archi to do that.

The main thing is that these "City Ships" are horribly designed, with a control point so easy to target with everything you've got, when all vital controls should be near the core, where the armour is thickest.

2Xeo5.png

And the sole reason for that is that it is supposed to be defensive and important, you want to make it look grand and inspiring, not chase around for a fight.

Mather, tv show tech is made to look good, the shape is actually the worst possible idea ever but it looks good so they went with it. The rest of us are using more probable shapes and weapons.

(if that makes any sense at all)

One other thing, my ships could just be sent into empty space and stay there, they are self systaining enough to remain there for the duration of the game, that or I could get a lot of power and park it inside a star.

Your ship after a couple of seconds in the star.

[Falador tavern]

It would be bad as a defensive installation as well. Target the main tower and the rest of the defenses fall into chaos.

So what, you're just going to have it hide for the entire game? The things cost enormous amounts of money, and they don't attack or defend very well. I think you're just using stargate tech for the sake of it being stargate tech, and that's pretty lame.

Also, you seem to still be under the illusion that technology specs in stargate = technology specs everywhere. I doubt Archi will let the shields be powerful enough to enter a star.

2Xeo5.png

No shield could stop that amount of heat and even if it could the shape of the star would change, it would take millenia for it to become a circle again

[Falador tavern]

City ships are just for show and non-combat uses, my other ships and tech do work.

Cityabove.png

Grren is housing, yellow is research, red is drone platform facilities, dark green are grounding stations for power surges (like lightning) and blue is shield generators.

Cityunder.png

White is propulsion.

Citytower.png

Purple is jumper bay, blue is the command center and the gate room (jumper bay and gate room are connected), yellow is power redistribution and contains hubs for attaching power sources (note that the entire exterior of the ship is covered with the researched solar generation hull) and green is the location of the chair which controls ship functions like propulsion and weapons.

Am I the only one noticing complete lack of power generators?

I'm pretty sure that tower is a big glaring weak point saying "HIT ME". It's like a boss from a game, desplaying it's weak point for all to see.

lost_planet_001.jpg

you have 9 other enemies to fijght who aren't going to be easy

why not leave a little bit of help :(

Hehe, help? I think alliances are plenty plausible.

Again it is an defencive structure, it is not supposed to be invinsible. If one large ship attacks then it and the jumpers can fight it of, if war breaks out it will hide while other ships fight then strike the final blow once the enemy is weakened.

That's how the Lantians did it, that's how the Atlantis Expedition did it, that was what the Asurans tried and 2/3 wars survived isn't a bad number.

"So, how did you die?"

"Oh, I didn't, I just survived 2/3rds of the explosion at Hallifax."

Riiiight.

Okay. Let me get this straight. You are spending a massive portion of your available resources building a ship which can barely attack or defend, and is almost entirely for show.

Yeah, I believe I already said it, but you're just making stargate tech for the sake of stargate tech now. It isn't even practical.
