Chaotic Long or Rapier?

To many rapier fan boys here, don't even understand whats going on.

I see you're close to getting your weapon there as well

Really don't have to own one myself to be honest. I go against them alot, I beat out a rapier at kbd consistently using my ZS, both of us using overloads, turmoil, and bandos. I have experience with them even though I don't own them. The problem with this discussion is whoever gets what is so defensive about that choice because they spent so long getting it, they would hate to have it be a waste.

Not true, I've seen quiet a few posts around these forums of people who got the Longsword, wishing they had gotten the Rapier instead.

k I give up.

This troll is saying long is better and providing no evidence.

Go buy long, it will make the troll stop trolling, hopefully.

The longsword is obviously better if the rapier loses to a weapon of the same speed and lower stats, it must be glitched, therefore the long is better.

Since when does stating your views on a topic, in a thread about that topic, classify you as a troll? Where's your evidence btw? Don't accuse me of not having any when you don't have yourself.

Stab attack of rapier in max accuracy gear: 151

Slash attack of long in max accuracy gear: 172

14% in favor of long, assuming accuracy is linearly based on equipment bonus, which is in your favor because it actually is not.

Dps of rapier is 15% more than long.

Of course you're gonna say there's no accuracy formula, then say long is better on no evidence so idk why I bother doing this.

Find the str bonus in max accuracy gear, find max hit, divide by attack time. Since the rapier's pure dps advantage is higher than the long's accuracy advantage, rapier is better.

Of course you are gonna say my accuracy formula is wrong, because it is wrong in favoour of the longsword.

Maybe you should get a chaotic weapon, or both, before you try arguing this.

Btw I consistenly crash people with longs at bandos and win like 70% of the time

To answer op's question, since you have maxed melee I'd say get rapier. A friend of mine recently got cls, and I recently got rapier. we decided to go against eachother in tasks, boss hunting etc. to see which weapon was better.

Neither of us have access to extremes, but he has turmoil whereas I do not. In every slayer task, I beat him by about 10-20 kills for tasks of about 100 monsters with myself using piety and him using turmoil. Using the exact same setup for bandos/ zammy, I ended up with a few more brews/rocktails than him in the end. In everything we've tried, rapier has beaten out the cls. This may not apply to someone with lower stats than you and I, but at your level you must certainly want the rapier.

Red, if you want to atleast seem somewhat smart, back your claims on ZS beating Rapier at FFA KBD and go there. I'm sure there will be hundreds of people cueing up to be proven wrong, but right now, you are talking out of the wrong hole.

As for saying that all the maths is wrong, and we have never said it was 100% right, where is your math? Or extensive testing? Or anything but: CR fanboyzzz LLL get long, u'll pwn LLL. IT'S NOT AN ARGUMENT. DO THE TESTING. Otherwise just shut up and not act as though you know anything, mr. 59 dungeoneering.

Really? It seems to me that I beat ZS at KBD >>95% of the time if we have similar gear. Obvious troll is obvious.

For a second i wanted to agree with iRed and then I realized he's just being ignorant

A quote I heard yesterday puts it best: "Most intelligent people who got a CLS regret getting it, and the rest are just fanboys of long swords."

CLS is really only worth getting if you exclusively: Bandos, Safe PvP (clan wars, castle wars), TD's. Otherwise, Rapier is far better.

Rule of thumb: long goes with dfs (bulky), rapier looks better with divine (subtle and graceful). Which would you rather have?

(DFS is still better if all you do is dragons, really. Oh wait, not if you have the best potions.)
