verac's skirt, torags/dh/guthans plate, v helm.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Replace Verac's with FSH/SH/Black Mask for Slayer.

No single set is very versatile, they each serve a distinct purpose. For slayer though Verac is best because the prayer boost will help as you should be prayer boosting all the time while you slay. For tanking use Torags, but that shouldn't be used for slayer.

If you have a Bunyip, you shouldn't need Guthans.

PM me in game anytime

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

Dharoking is still the fastest melee xp in the game, though not very useful for slayer..

Veracs is the best armour for zilyana.

Guthans is great for solo maging rex, allowing you to stay there without worry - now that I have 88 def / uni / ee it doesn't matter much, but it helps lower lvls a lot.

But in most cases, the set effects aren't useful. The other 3 were never really useful.

If you get multiple sets, getting torag's is useless:

T helm = G helm = V helm - some range def but + pray

G plate = T plate = Dh plate

Dh legs = T legs = V skirt - some range def but + pray

I don't think this much is true anymore. Especially with chaotic rapiers, void melee + deflector, and such.

dharoks never more than doubles the damage you would normally deal.

a chaotic rapier in proper gear, assuming no slayer task/void, already has a higher strength bonus than a dharok's greataxe.

and it attacks 1.75x for each time the greataxe swings.

not to mention rapier + defender higher accuracy than the great axe.

edit: did calculation

assuming max stats and gear, and ideal conditions for dharoks, and no overkill loss, dharoks is still 3.3% better dps than say, a chaotic rapier.

but it's pretty outdated at any rate. Getting to those ideal conditions would be pretty tough.

While it is good, thanks to recent updates that simply isn't the case. To my amazement last night on a slayer task with a Whip, Prossy, Turmoil, Extremes and a ferocious ring I got 95k attack experience in 30 minutes. That is with max stats however, but thats an average of at least 180k experience per hour, and this was on Abyssal demons.

I assume that a rapier would beat that by at least 10k per hour. Don't really see DH getting up there lol.

Just thought I'd throw that in there.

I'd probably say veracs is still somewhat useful. Using it on mithrils and of course the KQ is still a legitimate application.

Nah, because a Zammy Spear is better for miths and the KQ, well, I don't know, but the KQ isn't going to be efficient no matter how you kill her, so meh.
