Thoughts on Chaotic CrossBow

I wish to know the players thoughts on the Chaotic crossbow, Is it worth getting if I'll be at Armadyl and would it be useful anywhere else? I'm just curious because I'm nearing the level to were I can get my 3rd chaotic so I'm just wondering if its worth getting or whether I should just get something else. Thanks for any input.

It all depends on how seriously you are into going after Armadyl. I've heard that it can increase the kills per hour in a team of 3 substantially. Being that you are on your third chaotic weapon, I would get the crossbow.

It isn't worth getting for anything but Armadyl at the moment, but if you're going to Armadyl a lot definately get it. I have one myself and i find myself hitting quite a bit more against Kree. And it can also help you to get into pro teams on Rsof.

I took the liberty in comparing both the Chaotic and the Rune crossbow (most common one I've seen at least). The only difference in the Chaotic would be the +30 more Ranged attack bonus.

Figuratively speaking though, the rune crossbow is still the best one to use due to the fact you don't have to keep recharging it with money or tokens (which either lowers your cash pile or uses time to get tokens. If you are lucky, however, you could possibly get drops that give a nice cash amount and you can just easily go recharge it whenever you need to. If you have the cash to constantly repair it when needed it would be a good item to get especially since it's your third.

Good for Arma and TD's, basically.

It's usefullness at TD's will dramatically diminish if you have a steel titan.

A decent choice for a third chaotic considering you do a lot of arma. Which were your first two?

first 2 were rapier and longsword :)

I find it funny how most people could care less about +30 range but +20 more attack (and yeah some strength okay) from rapier is undoubtedly awesome.

The chaotic rapier has +12 accuracy and +19 strength over a whip. More importantly, it uses stab (not slash, like the whip) which means a huge accuracy increase on dragons. Also, +19 strength is much more significant than +19 accuracy as turmoil + extremes + fsh increases your accuracy by a load already, and you won't need more. Finally, a +30 ranged accuracy increase is maybe a 15% increase of your total bonus, since ranged gear already has attack bonusus. For melee, +12 accuracy is about +10% (comparable to +20 for ranged). E.G. the rapier has a relatively higher percentual increase per point of accuracy.

Goes up exponentionally etc and also melee has more other boosts than ranged (unless you buy rigour but thats another 140k tokens), I heard 30-40% faster arma kills in a 3 man team (I think lol). Especially considering the price of ranger boots, I can't see why people wouldn't want a crossbow.

And yeah I pulled that rapier attack bonus out of nowhere so apparently its even less :P

So I agree you should at least get rapier and maybe maul or something first, but after that its pretty stupid to consider a shield over cbow

The problem with the crossbow is that it only increases accuracy, where as the melee and mage weapons also increase your damage, which is usually much more significant. And as it is only an accuracy boost, it is only worthwhile in places where you would need the accuracy- solo sara, armadyl and TD's without steel titan. For training, the sheer cost(100k an hour) makes it pointless.

well seeing as im already maxed range with extremes etc the only place i would have any use for it would be tds and arma but my steel titan takes over at tds so im jw if its really work it for arma alone?

You can make a use for it at other places, of course. I imagine the accuracy with diamond bolts must be quite impressive, maybe enough to take down Graardor or Zilyana quite fast. It'd be a pointless exercise as you already have CLS.
