No, I know about it. Because I have sided they think I'm a sockpuppet. I don't think its allowed to try and discredit a user by lying.

But, I got a bit confused you see Dungeonal is replaced with [hide] and I can't see any of his posts due to an add-on in firefox, lol.

I think he meant a game mod.

Though I was speaking with Cowman with Edel, and we both agreed that it would be good if there were more users active in the tavern. Apparently the games we have on-going are too confusing for newcomers, and so I suggested another game which is an easy RP and is really easy to get into, something like the arena games. I said I'd mod it if no one else will but if Nex wants to then I think he should.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

I meant a forum mod. Being a forum mod isn't that hard, there is literally nothing bad he could do.

Confirming what ICu said: we're too small, we need more people and not only will it be more active and more fun there will be a huge social change foer the better.

We keep trying no mod games...Then Mather, me or...well...anyone...comes on and announces some brilliant scheme to become ultimately powerful and the game implodes or becomes a huge rage argument.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Nex, Mod what? Hate to bring back the dead to haunt you, but since it's my JOB (according to you)... Dare i remind you of all the other games you have made, modded, and fell out within the first few pages? Yes, i dare, and i will dare until you actually have a game that runs past the 5 to 15 page mark.

FORUM MOD!

Wait, I detect a separate level of humor in Archi's post...

Heh. Hehe. I get it. If the games I work on drop so quickly...

YOU'RE A MOD?!

Wow, then you really are bad!

(Hehe, just had to say it. I know, you meant as bad of a mod as you would be.)

Anyways, that was mostly a joke. I think I might make a good mod, I keep an eye on practically everything said here and I have a good idea of Tavern morality and the rules of the forum, but I don't think I'll end up as a mod any time soon. I don't think the admins are particularly fond of me anyways, given my "knee jerk reaction" as Archi so fluently put it.

How did I not notice that?... Anyways, I was exagerating quite a bit. I'm waaayyy to twitchy to make it as a mod, and too scatter brained to keep up with everything.

Becoming a moderator is/was fairly ease...you find an abandoned forum, act like a noob for 6 months, reform, spend 18 months modding without any of the powers, building up a considerable reputation for someone who spends an exceedingly large amount of time checking posts, giving feedback and generally being helpful....

Then apply for modship, give story above.

2 years and job done, then another 2 years for the admin to realise you have a different style from the traditional moderator, and you retire to a quiet corner of the forum.

As the saying goes, From nothing, comes nothing, what have you lost? Nothing.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Gained a position, lost it. Doesn't matter, seeing as we can still have fun... Oh, and i'm suprised people aren't asking about the twichyness stuff. I'ts like a huge cities down town pub, no one asks questions..

Me being so twitchy it would interfere with me getting mod status.

I'd like to think our process is a bit more sophisticated, but i'm venturing into a sticky trap here that's going to be difficult to post professionally without bringing in staff matters into this, but since you already have...May as well forge an attempt at a reply at an attempt to clear up the bitter misinformation

We hire alot of moderators for forums that are NOT abandoned - these individuals are selected based on post quality, perceived maturity and a myriad of other factors like timezone, where they post, how active they may be,and to an extent forum history. True abandoned forums sometimes do spawn mods that defy these typical expectations due to a severe lack of talent, but that's rarely, and seldom the case, I'd say the last true risk taken at mod was modding a multiple time banned user in the clan section, which turned out to be me.

In retrospect, looking at your application, the story about "18 months modding without any powers" bit was never mentioned on the app comments, you were selected due to your writing ability, seemingly unbridled dedication, love of and passion for that forum, I'd wager we probably throw out people who act like you describe as "mods without power" more often than not.

Anyways, while your style was different, we harbor a large amount of styles on our team, let's not misinform the public - Because i'm not going to discuss staff happenings here. Period, Nor are you. Period.

During your tenure i'll give you the respect that you ran the Tavern to the best of your ability and i'll even say it flourished and done well, but I really think your attitude has been abysmal ever since you resigned. You're better than running around posting angry and bitter posts, lets see that intelligence, that creativity, that love for roleplay.

I...see

Actually I am in a fairly jolly mood and was just saying that there are ways to become a mod, no matter who you are and what you start out as.(Re: Someone saying they didn't think they could be a mod since they didn't get on with an admin)

Varrock Library was an abandoned forum, it cannot really be denied(at least of two years ago).

Being a mod without mod powers, to me, means talking to other users and coming to compromises, which seems to be what you describe...I am not really sure how else you could be a mod without powers.

I ended fairly well with the Admin, I thought, and am the same person I always was.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I think becoming a mod could sometimes be the same as becoming a clan leader. Of course it's naturally fun to be in the community, but there is a lot of work involved with it. Then you know that if you stopped being a moderator to simply enjoy the community that you helped create/sustain, the community might not be the same.

This probaly doesn't apply to every instance though. So Nex, when I took over leadership for the clan years ago, that was not because I was powerhungry! :)

Becoming a mod is about helping the community than getting the tools to do it.
