But Berserker dont work for Spear?

I think best overall is 2h with berserker setting, although I've read arguments that in teams with all 2h/spear, 1 rapier will help more than a 5th 2h/spear, but I have no idea on that really.

Was confirmed by Jagex, and I'm sure all the dge elites who switched to Prom 2h wouldn't have taken the time if it wasn't confirmed.

Unless you're dungeoneering with a private group (where roles have been selected prematurely), you'd have to adapt in certain situations meaning that you won't always be the key holder. Besides, key holders should have shadow silk hoods. Most dungeoneers can only bind 2 items and you wouldn't want no weapon, right?

Most key holders I've dungeoned with have had Hood + B axe bound. I have hood + prom 2h bound. Generally the b axe is the better choice but I don't claim to be an elite keyer so I'll stick with my 2h.

Because more monsters in daemonhiem are weak to slash and crush than they are to stab.

several people have told me that PRIMAL baxe is possibly superior to PROMETHIUM 2h.

 

PRIMAL 2h will definitely surpass PRIMAL baxe when warped (and therefore primal2h) are released.

stick with prom 2h unless you key often.

Plus, not all monsters have low def. Rapier is really inaccurate and sucks on higher def monsters.

That post makes no sense at all-

 

Prom spear has the same max hit as primal rapier with berserker t18(spears don't benefit from berserker).

Prom spear is 25% slower than rapier.

Prom spear has the same slash bonus as rapier.

Prom spear has slightly higher stab bonus than rapier.

Prom spear has a slightly useful crush attack mode.

 

From that, prom spear can almost never be better than rapier, and is usually much worse.

 

But yeah, i have been using a primal rapier for ages now, even before people found out 2h's were good. As i've said a thousand times, it's good because it's best where other people are at their worst(slow slash/crush vs. fast stab), so, no doubt, it's good for the team. As an overall weapon, however, it's not as good as prim baxe/prom 2h.

 

Also- rapier is the best weapon for rushing low floors.

I just made the switch from prom 2h to primal rapier, and I absolutely love it. I'm so used to killing stuff with a whip that the rapier feels completely natural to use. It makes dungeoneering feel a little like slaying, which is a HUGE plus for me.

 

I know I'm not really contributing to the topic, but I thought I'd throw that out there.

just to bring some science into mix, here are some DPS calculations from grimys sheets for the two best weapons(prim baxe and prom 2h) in comparison to the primal rapier, all of which use t8 berserker ring(they all have 2 strength modes):

And this is with turmoil, maximum boost.

 

So- without any boosts, rapier will be better or the same as the others up to around level 200 defense. With turmoil, rapier will be better or the same as the others up to 250 defense. And, not to forget, rapier has a stab mode, which makes it very useful to have in a dungeon.
