Use rune till you can afford bandos. Have barrows for boss hunting and such, rune can handle normal training and bandos for both.

 

For magic, Ahrim's is the best. Mystic till you can afford it. Infinity if you have money to blow, but you should just alch to 94 and then barrage, in which case Ahrims/Battle Robes.

 

For range, Black d'hide get's the job done. You only need Karil's at corp, and even there D'hide is almost as good. Armadyl is again for boss hunting.

Arcane for maging anything (Dks/Rock Lobs)

Spectral for Armadyl

A budget is pretty important. Barrows and bandos are difficult to compare when one is like 20 times more expensive unless money is of no object to you.

 

You should get bandos if you can still maintain other important items like a whip and around 5-10 mil cash. Barrows otherwise. People usually look at the degradation and make it out to be a lot more than it really is. It's around 100-200k depending on your smithing level for the chest and legs and that lasts you for 15 hours. Less than 13k an hour is like nothing at all.

aeil's post looked good. be sure to get an amulet of fury, and berserker/archer/seers rings as well.

Tbh, I have NEVER used my ranging ammy since I bought my fury. It's only good if you're safespotting and I haven't done that since I was a level 90.

You may want to get turmoil, overload (or at least extremes) and 89 summoning (uni + geyser) before getting arcane/spectral or even bandos/claws.

he doesn't have stats listed, so I assumed he had all thoughs things. but yes barrows>zerker>karils>fury>ah>yak>turmoil=overload>claws>bandos>arcane/spec>arma>divine/elysian>3a mage hat

Dont forget prayer bonus armor like prostelyte(however it's spelled), sw cape if you have it, and a stole. This is very useful for tasks that you'll only be using protection prayers against.

Bandos is definitely worth getting...not first, but is one of the sets you should be aiming for

I haven't worn my Armadyl in months other than for clan wars. Karil is better when you need mage def, but are meleeing. Armadyl is only better when actually ranging.
