Is it better to pick lvl 1 clay and make a tool and start harvesting from a level 5 clay or is it better just to pick from a level 5 clay from the beginnning?

I personally go straight for the c5. However, I don't know which results in getting c5 clay faster

Get 1, make tool, then go to next nearest high level clay. It's fastest to work your way up, but if you have to run around looking for the next highest clay, then you're best off gathering from a high level one that's closer. It also depends on your stat level for what you're gathering. If you have 80 woodcutting you're better off working up than if you have 95 woodcutting, as the likelihood of getting that level 5 clay is increased by a decent rate.

Always pick a c1, then it's up to you.

...OR you could run straight to the c5 resources yelling "1 clay plz!11!"

I usually go c1-c3-c5, or something similar depending what's available. Most of the time I get a bunch of c5 clay while many people are still shouting "need 1 clay!!" when I use this method.

Grab a class 1 clay or go straight for a class 2. Then take your c1/c2 tool and look for something up to 2 classes above it. Never try collecting c5 clay without at least a c3 tool.

Your first c5 clay should go towards a tool of the same resource. After that, you should hand out clay to everyone around you. It's annoying to have other people leech and not follow the above, but it helps games go faster.

I al;ways found it is best to grab from c1 to make a full set of tools.

Then go to the nearest high level you can (hopefully a c3) and upgrade tools.

Then seek out c5.

Fast SC is really boring tbh.

Out of the 300+ games I played for construction, I'd say i played 15-20 in fast sc. Fast sc turns one of the funner minigames into a grind, and I don't recommend doing it.

The only flaw with this is playing normally you looking at hours of play to get enough to buy the tools you need.

Fast Sc being skill only games end much faster and you get far more points and thus get the tools faster.

Lots of bearable things > not so much but still a lot of unbearable things. What is bearable is different per person, of course. I tend to agree with All is Great.

Personally, I'm the opposite. I think playing SC normally is completely unbearable, but I love using fast sc. So try a few games of each and see what you prefer.

Oh, and to answer the question in the original post- I usually do c1-c3-c5, starting by doing a quick look around to see what the nearest c3 is. Grab a c1 clay, make the tool for the c3, then do the same for the c5. I think it's a bit faster than making a whole set of c1 tools, then a whole set of c3's, etc.

This. I know I posted further up slightly different, but i've been out of play for a while and reading this my method properly came back to me lol.

You shuld be able to spot a c3 from ur base so yeah only make the necessary c1 tool.

If you can see a c5 only make the necessary c3 tool (then make a full c5 set if you can)

If you can't easily see a c5 (eg they are all miles away) its wise to make a full set of c3 to cover yourself.

i personally go strait to the clay, as normally by the time I get and make the c1 tool, I could already have a piece to make a better tool.

Actually, if you don't have decent skills (I'd say at least all 60s), it's hard for you to get alot of points at fast sc if you don't know what your doing. And most of the times, the games take 15 minutes, unlike 12 they advertise.

You only need 60 in the gathering skills and crafting, which isn't extremely hard to get. For me, the most annoying thing about SC is being killed by barragers, so Fast SC is actually more fun in my opinion

Tbf I don't even see why people bother fighting in SC it gives naff all points. The reward to effort pay off for combat in sc blows.

For fun. Ever since I finished construction, I never play to get 20k points per game anymore. I make runes, armour, pots and start barraging people at around 13:00, and end up with 15k-18k points.
