Smithing

Featured Replies

Heyhey,

I'm looking into training smithing to 89 or 90.

Just want to know what is decent xp and at what cost?

Would adamantite be good or stick to gold ores (sooo slow -.-)

I'm a decent moneymaker so i have somewhat of a bank to cover some costs.

Thanks in advance.

Superheat the gold?

well addy plates would cost u about 51m if u sell the plates, knives would be 33m and dart tips 30m tho those are way slower.

if u use sc hammer it will be half the cost ofc...

gold would only cost u like 9m something tho...

so its up to u to decide which are best :P

You can smith addy plates at level 88. If you want 89, thats only 1 level. Idk how thats 51m as homowz said.

well, a few methods are slow, but somewhat break even or are profitable. Everyone knows about cannonballs, don't know how you feel about them. They are slooooooow xp but profit. Iron knives are another profit maker, yet another really slow xp. Making addy bars via superheating is breaking even, if not profiting a little bit. if you use a furnace it cuts the xp a lot but you profit about 300gp per bar. I believe you can make any bar for relatively no loss, but most have to be made at a furnace for that. Hope it helps.

Just FYI, if money were no problem, make the highest platebody you can for the fastest xp.

Smelting gold ores requires little to no effort and is around 70k xp/hr, slow but cheap. 3gp/xp

Superheating gold ore is around 100k xp an hr, a lot more clicking and slightly more expensive. 6gp/xp

You can combine the 2 for high effort but 120k or so xp an hr, (You can superheat while smelting and if you don't do it too fast, it won't interrupt the smelting). 5gp/xp

With Scroll of Efficiency (DG reward)

Iron plates: 100k xp 10gp/xp

Steel Plates: 150k xp 19 gp/xp

Mith Plates: 200k xp 21gp/xp

Addy plates (88 onwards) 250k xp 18gp/xp

You can obviously cut the cost in half if you use Sacred Clay Hammers, (They last for 65k xp) but you have to take into consideration the time it takes to earn them. Which if you enjoy the Minigame, might be worthwhile considering.

Cballs should never be done for xp or profit unless the only skill you possess is 35 smithing (or whatever the req for cballs is)

The only time you should be doing them is if you want to pay almost no attention to the game at all, but still gain some money and xp.

Sc hammers and mith plates. At 88 switch to addy.
