whether or not it is illegal i have no idea

 

but jagex's macro detection system definitely pays attention to when any clicks occur in some predictable pattern

 

so i'd advise against it

Yes. Relative movement is allowed, but having it go to or click on a specific spot is not.

I'm sure JaGeX will address that when they become more prevalent (Ie actually useful instead of just casual computer fluff), but I have no idea if they have a stance on it atm...

Clicking somewhere generates (most of the time) "left-mouse-event" at the desired location.

Obviously if you had a pen, you wouldn't have a pointer moving across the screen as well... or you would have a pointer following your pen movements, which would again be relative movement.

Obviously if you had a pen, you wouldn't have a pointer moving across the screen as well... or you would have a pointer following your pen movements, which would again be relative movement.

A pointer is something which points! - it doesn't have to be a cursor.

 

When you click somewhere, you'll see an dot/animation at the screen where you clicked. And if you're using both a mouse and a touch-screen, often the touch-screen also sets the mouse - cursor position.

the mouse is located where you last clicked (so if you click somewhere and then plug a mouse in, the mouse-cursor would be at the clicked position)

Sounds like it could get you in trouble. Being able to assign keys to certain parts of the screen seems a little sketchy. If you set it up right, you could just roll your finger across the keyboard pressing 123456789, withdrawing a bunch of items, and processing them all in seconds. One keystroke=one action would mean moving the mouse any clicking would probably not be allowed. I'd avoid any programs that would affect playing the game all together.

 

However, mousekeys is said to be fine. It still requires attention and just as much input as a normal mouse, and is available to almost anyone (not sure if Mac users have an equivalent, exactly).

I have set up mousekeys and remapping so when i press f6-f12 it makes mahog tables for me, but you gotta time it right. Idk whether that was legal but i didn't get banned.

If you made it like: f6 clicks, f7 moves 1" down, f8 clicks, f9 moves, f10 clicks, f11 moves, f12 clicks (or some equivalent) it's legal.

I'm not saying they can tell, but I know that the interface moves around a bit every now and then (at least I noticed that when I was cursing. Could be me though). If you can adapt, and if your timing isn't 100%, I guess it'd work to your advantage.
