Hey guys! It has been a while since I've posted on Tip.It...but I seem to have a problem.

 

My account is gone from the high scores on Runescape...and in its place is an account with 37 hunter as the only stat on the highscores.

Now, anyone want to enlighten me as to what is going on? Is my account gone for good? Where is my account?

 

Before I get something along the lines of: Are you sure you had stats over 30, 40, 50, etc...then Yes. I had all my stats above 60 at the time I stopped playing.

 

So...anyone want to tell me what's going on?

In its place? What exactly do you mean by that?

 

As the above poster suggests I would definetly try to log in, and then see what's up, but from what you've told us here I see a few possibilities.

 

1) Your account (assuming the one with 37 hunter has the same name and had a higher level) has been rolled back, which is a common punishment for botting.

2) Your account had been banned (years ago?) and someone has taken the name, and is the one you found in the hiscore, rather than your own account.

3) Your account was hacked and the one who did it changed its name a few times, after someone else took yours.

The most logical explanation imo is that you got hacked, the hacker changed your name and someone else took your old name.

Odds are if you havent played in years your display name was freed up by jagex.

This means your account name may be in use by someone else on the highscores, but you will still be able to log in with it. But once you are logged in your display name will jsut be a random chain of numbers until you update the display name again.

Or your other skills became unranked over time, since the level needed to be in the highscores keeps increasing.

The minimum level needed to get into the highscores is 30.

Over time, more then a million people have lvls over 30.. so the cap to get it increases

For example, even though you need lvl 30 to show up on highscores, the lowest level you need now is lvl 66 for woodcutting.

He said he had all skills over 60, and now hunter is 37 so he couldn't have been bumped out of the hs... And iirc, any skill over lvl 30 is good enough to keep your name.

If you haven't logged on yet, try that.. it might help to refresh the HS.

I tried recover password but I think the system thinks the current "mathisfun" is the actual account and won't let me recover.

Some of the guys in that screenshot are still regulars on the forum - try PMing them to see if they still have you added. If so, it will show any change to your display name.

There's nothing we can do, the only thing you can do is to PM Jagex and see if they'll respond, if you can't log into your account.

The loginname is still the same, so you can still recover it by using that name...

Jagex now removes the display name of players who are inactive for very long times, so someone might have changed their name to yours. Your login name should be the same, do you remember your password?

You should be able to recover it with your recovery questions then?

No matter what your current display name is, your login username will always remain the same.

Well, recover didn't work....because, even though I filled everything out (including the membership invoice and whatnot) they weren't able to recover it..... I'll try it one more time.
