TDs. (added a DG question)

Okay so I know I'm still very new to TDs, but i think so far I've been doing pretty well. My first few trips were about 16 - 18 Kills per trip. With each trip it starts getting more and more and i am now at 25 - 27 Kills per trip. Thing is, I'm not sure how i can get more than that? Maybe there's something wrong with my Inventory or Setup?

 

Here are both of them:

 

I don't bother with a Unholy book when Ranging because i just don't feel like it's worth it.

I'm not ready to risk void untill my internet is sorted (although i doubt that can push my KC up by much).

The brew is incase i mess up a Prayer or something else goes wrong, the Super Restore is to restore my stats as soon as i brewed (even though i use overload. theres still a few seconds delay).

 

Now my problems are this. The past few trips one of two things happened.

One trip i took 4 Overloads and ended up with a full overload when all my prayer potions were used up. The next time i took 3 Overloads and 1 extra Prayer potion and ended up with 3 extra Prayer potions by the time my overloads were used up. So where should i adjust?

Also this week i want to seriously start working my way towards a Chaotic and seeing as most of my time for the next month or two will be spent either at TDs or Skilling, should i still stick with a Rapier? How does a Rapier perform at TDs? Will it really push my KC up by much?

EDIT: If i we to C1 Rush, say 1 - 35, what would the overall avg. exp per floor be? And how long will this take?

And what about C6 Rushing?

I can do 30-35 demons with that much prayer and I say its because of quick switches, which is probably the only thing you can improve on with practice. Super prayers are a great idea if you want to extend trips and again theres always room for improvement on timing.

 

I have seen the math at one point too for rapier/cls at tds and (i believe) with perfect switching that the cls was half a percent (%0.5) better than the rapier. I have the rapier myself and it allows me to kill demons within one shield easily but if you are slower or don't like fast combat any chaotic is a step up here :)

 

edit: forgot to mention I use void and that the %15 bonuses it gives to attack and strength stack even more with faster weapons like the cr, maximising damage.

Seeing that you just got 3 some claws drops a couple days ago, use diamond bolts (e). Karil's as well. Range is the slowest part of tding, so anything you can do to boost ranging is nice.

Are you on regular or curses? I recommend using regular prayer because eagle eye/rigor vastly increases your kill speed if you can switch prayers also. I also recommend either a karil's xbow or hand cannon if you can be bothered with the additional clicks per switch. When you get more comfortable you can use steel Titan for more kills per trip.

use regular prayers for eagle eye + piety instead of turmoil + leech ranged

 

use claws for spec instead of ee

Use three overloads or use super prayers- especially without elite void, normal prayer pots aren't going to last you much longer than 3 ovls unless you get lucky with ppot drops.

 

Don't worry about the super restore- 2 doses of brew doesn't take you low enough that restore does anything, it just takes you down to around 98-99.

 

Use rune bolts or Karil's crossbow. Karil's is better damage but you can't really soul split flash with it, which you might find stretches your brew a little too thin.

 

Speaking of which, I'm not sure I'd try normal prayers until you're more comfortable killing, because the loss of soul split flash is a big, big difference.

 

Rapier is a humongous advantage over the whip, so yes, it will increase your kill speed.

Well firstly, i don't SS Flash. I think my high ping might be the reason, but there is a short delay from the time i click it till the time it actually pops up.

And is Karil really a big step over Dhide? I though dhide was "the best", second to Void ofc.

Also, if i use D Claw specs instead of ee spec, wont that put me in a bit of trouble when i pot with ovl?

Karil's doesn't have any appreciable benefit over dhide unless you find yourself taking damage from magic splats a lot. It also has lower ranged and melee defense, but only slightly. I wouldn't use it, especially since your reasoning for not using void is keeping a low risk.

 

If you don't SS flash, definitely use normal prayers. They're way better than curses when you're switching back and forth, because turmoil usually doesn't get more than its initial boost, and leech ranged sucks.

Also i forgot to mention, but i'm going to try my but off to get a Chaotic xBow during the next few weeks. I' guessing Rapier, CBow and Void would then pretty much be the best Setup?

Then i'll take 4 Ovl, 10 Superprayer?

Well to be quite honest, ive got the Prayer Switching down now. What i take the most damage from is when i'm on an empty world and a TD hits me when he spaws (while i'm kkilling another, ofcourse).

So its not like i'm taking a lot of damage when there are other people ont he same world as me.

I'd use void. You say you doubt it can push up your killrate much, but void increases ranged damage by 20%. You definitely want to use it.

 

I have used void deflector + rapier + rcbow w/ diamond bolts, that works well. I've also tried maul + kxbow and I find the crossbow a bit inaccurate but the maul is great.

 

Normal prayers > curses except with a steel titan. With a steel just leave turmoil on for faster melee. Once you get used to soul split flashing, you have an advantage when steel titan tding. You really can't learn to ss flash on prayers, so that might be a reason to use curses.

 

Then again I believe Bladewing got 42 kills/hr with a unicorn, so you may want to do that (maul + hc, rigour, piety).

Yeah the reason i asked this is because i want to really raise Dungeoneering as it is a skill i enjoy, but i hate trying to find a team or having people quit on you once you eventurally find a team (which happened twice today). I was thinking about just getting to 90 odd by myself but i managed to land myself with a great perm team today.

Another way to heal if you're on curses is to just pray Soul Split instead of deflect melee. TDs do not change attack styles unless you deflect them, so once the TD uses melee it will stay there for the rest of the kill. Depending on your gear (or if you bring alternate gear for this), you can SS the whole kill and take minimal damage.

 

With a unicorn I sometimes have to use Darklight twice while that never happens with Titan. However, I haven't tried void + rigour + hand cannon, so my opinion might change once I play around a bit more.

 

 

DG: Generally people c1 rush floors 1-29 but if you don't have many 30+ open you should stop c1ing earlier. Do the rest of those floors on c6.
