Levelling herblore

eyeye

Recommended Posts

So to get 85 herblore i'd love to do something with less than 15 gp/exp, 20 at the most.

The thing is, i was planning on doing avantoes to super energies, which would save me loads and loads of money, as i could do spec restores for virturally nothing, since i have tons of papaya from farming.

Should i:

Buy for like 4k each (it would literally destroy me) - but i'd get 85 ish quickly

do like 10k super attacks, then buy the energies and make spec restores

cry and spin around in circles until the game stops hitting me in the face

???????

Profit

Should have put orders in on the first day of free trade.. I bought 30k tarro for between 200 and 250 each and that will get me to 80 herb ftw.

What he did, make str pots.

Best way to do herb without bursting your wallet is do str pots.

But it will be slow.

I'm doing serum 207's it worked out to about 6.5gp per xp and I don't want to spend all the extra cash on limps while str pots are crashing. It's hella slow though.

Are the supplies for serum 207 selling for lower than their GE value?

Don't do serums, they take a bank slot (unless you drop them).

Don't do the very slow pots.

Don't be cheap, if you're not buying at apparent prices you shouldn't be surprised you're not getting any.

If i were you I'd save some money for now and then proceed with making (energy restore + spec restore till 88), then make 2k of each pot (extremes), saves you a lot of time later

on topic, as soon as you can make ext attack, stop making spec restores. I did that and i still wound up with 5k spec rests that ill never be able to use up.

Stick to tradeable pots.

If you do untradable then you will eat the entire cost.

Get that dungeoneering reward scroll that lets you retain a percentage of seconds.

I did super attack, strength and defense pots plus range pots.

Do small numbers at a time so you can gauge what they are going for.

Also, always buy grimy herbs, you can save some serious dough for a minor inconvenience with herblore.

I never did serums because there was never an option to let you mix all and they sit in your bank.

Golvellius is here with bad advice again...

Untradeable pots can be cheaper than tradeables, in which case they are obviously superior. If they are more expensive, you can calculate the effective value of the potion. Say super attack is 10 gp/xp and special recover 15. Special recovers are 200 xp each so 200*5 (the gp/xp difference) = 1k. If you value a spec recover (3) at 1k or more you should do them because they are cheaper to you than super attacks. Finally, time is also an issue. If you make 1m/hr (and 2k pots per hour), you'll get 200k xp/hr making super attacks at a cost of 2m, which is two more hours (total 3 hrs for 200k xp). With special recovers you'd do half an hour of pot making at a cost of 3m, which is 3 more hours of moneymaking. Assuming you don't value the recovers at all, super attacks are better. However if you valued them at 500 gp each, the cost becomes 2.5m which is 2.5 hrs of moneymaking, which would make special recovers as good as super attacks.

I had ~1.8k or so super rests after I was done with herb.Still have 800. Don't make immense stocks of them as it'll take you quite a while to use them all.

I have about 3k stored up, but they're a fun little pot and I'd recommend making ~1k if you think you'd use them in your monster killing. Untradables are also useful to train with as you'll incur the cost of training and making ovl ingredients at once instead of twice over if you had made and sold tradable pots. That's more for future use but don't discount untradables, especially because you're going to want to use some of them.

OT,

Do the best gp/xp potion till 79/80 then stew spec recovers to 81/82/83 then do antifires with stews/ale to 84. Extreme attacks to 85, extreme strength to 86, defence to 87, mage to 88, range to 89.

Best way to do it.
