Nexaduro
I am coming back as a Rogue, old Seluphar stayed behind to help the Half-Nymphs partly out of guilt and partly out of annoyance at his companions. He also lost Nattercain somewhere along the line, and my new character found him (I'm still paying the cost, though). I'm going to be less of a party face this time, and more of the sneak/I-can't-believe-you-had-a-plan-for-that person. 1000 starting gold and a comb through the SRD can do amazing things. Point out any problems you see. Retech
What's a pseudodragon? And are you sure that you can carry all of that without becoming encumbered? EDIT: Oh wait, I see that you made a provision for that. Good to see that you're back though. --- Just a warning though, but don't always expect people to follow your plan. Convincing people to go along is probaly a good idea first before starting it and then watching it not work because not everyone is going along with it. Master of your domain? Nexaduro
Most of it I have stuffed in the saddlebags, only the equipment and weaponry is carried constantly (though it might be switched out for heavier loads). A Pseudodragon is basically the housecat of the dragon world. It's about the same size as a housecat as well. They're as intelligent as I am, and can speak Draconic telepathically (maybe verbally as well). 10:53 PM - retech9691: I feel the need10:53 PM - retech9691: To include many chasms in my story arc10:53 PM - Resistance: You mean plotholes? Retech
Are pseudodragons for sale? I didn't see them in the "common mounts and animals sold in cities" page. Or are they just "found." (Which you might want to ask Grim about, since it's reasonably strong and seems like a familliar, which rogues usually don't have) Master of your domain? Grim_
Erm, nex two things. Firstly, I'm sorry but the psuedo dragon is out. It's not that it's too over powered or something like that, it's that you need to be a seventh level caster to acquire one with the improved familiar feat. Second, when you choose exotic (or martial for that matter) weapon proficiency you only gain it for one weapon. You could have exotic weapon proficiency: Bastard sword and not be able to wield say, a Hunga-munga. Aside from those two bits it looks good though. Corvus
Nex, your post character stats are missing a fair few very important pieces of information:How did you distribute your 16-18skill points?Did you take bonus skills or bonus hp for your levels of rogue(assuming you aren't multiclassing)? Are you playing a Human rogue with the combat trick rogue ability? otherwise you have a few too many featsExotic Weapon Proficiency only works with 1 weapon category, so alot of those weapons will heavily penalize you for using themhow exactly did you get a psuedodragon? Retech
Grim, what are the rules for mounts? Do they need to be one size larger than you? Master of your domain? Grim_
I would assume that's the case retech. Have you checked the SRD? EDIT: The mount must be capable of carrying your weight (how much your character weighs+any gear you may be carrying) and be one size category larger. Retech
I've been snooping around and I can't find it. The reason I am asking is because I think I will take a Roc at level seven (when it gets to become a large creature rather than a medium creature), so I can fly around on a birdy. I would've preferred a giant eagle companion at level 4, but there are no such things as giant eagle companions or any rules about having such a companion (unless you could house rule and invent such a companion). Rocs taken as animal companions by druids or rangers are typically newly hatched birds—a baby roc is the size of a person and ready for flight and hunting within minutes of hatching. Unfortunately for druids seeking animal companions of legendary size, an animal companion roc is limited to Large size—still large enough for a Medium druid or ranger to use the flying beast as a mount. Nexaduro
Damnit. Pseudodragons are bought or hired, for 200gp, and are more like hirelings or cohorts or whatever than familiars. As for the Exotic Weaponry, whoops on my part. I'll replace the Swordbreakers and Butterfly Knife with normal Daggers, and drop the Thorn Bracers. The rest I need recommendations on for what to keep (as many as three), and I would also ask the GM if both the Shotel and Sica (since the latter is just miniaturized) are both included under Shotel proficiency. Oh, and I'm taking a Boar Spear to make up for the loss of my other weaponry. 10:53 PM - retech9691: I feel the need10:53 PM - retech9691: To include many chasms in my story arc10:53 PM - Resistance: You mean plotholes? Grim_
One question? How in the hell do you plan on finding a roc egg? Oh and fyi, withdraw is a full round action for both you and your mount. EDIT: Unless the Sica is simply another type of Shotel then no, you don't get proficency with both the shotel and the Sica. Could you point me to where you found the pseudodragon listing as well?
Retech
I just need to pray for 24 hours in an enviroment where the creature typically lives, so that means some sort of mountains I think. Are there any mountains in the campaign area? If there aren't, I guess I'll just get some sort of dinosaur instead. I suppose T-rex makes up for the lack of a flying mount. Retech
Can I continue to use the elfen spiked chain? It's based off the Drow, Scorpion chain. Differences from the Spiked chain are that the Elfen Spiked chain deals slashing instead of piercing damage, and can hit at both 5 foot and 10 foot reaches. Master of your domain? Grim_
Unlikely. I have found where you got the rules for the pseudo dragon. Nexaduro
Not servant, I was going with some story of having lifted one out of a foreign black market. Meh. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/goods-and-services/livestock *Sigh* Are you willing to give a cost? Why would a Pseudodragon need money anyways? "This blade is a smaller, lighter version of the shotel." I'm pretty sure that counts, the SRD doesn't mark things as it should sometimes... Like the nonfunctioning links under Goods and Services, or the exclusion of the Bladed Scarf's 10ft maximum melee range. EDIT: Where the heck are you guys getting all this information anyways? Seraphi
Most of us have homework that has been put off till the last second  Also, don't you guys think you are taking it a bit too far? Rocs? T-Rex? I mean, does that *really* fit your character, or have you left it ambiguous enough that you can just say that it does? (Sorry if I sound like a backseat GM at times, by the way. I honestly can't help it a lot of the time)
Retech
Rocs are the animal companion version, not the huge giant carrying version. They still fit my character concept of a mounted archer (albeit taking it to the extreme of flying mounted archer). T-Rex was just a random power packing choice if my mounted archery started getting stuffed (aka rule changes which have started to take place in the middle), but I probaly won't end up with that approach (not really setting appropriate and whatnot). I mean, the withdraw nerf makes it significantly harder to inflict damage in a situation where I am attempting to flee, but it is okay to adapt to. If it turns out that there are most things nerfed, then mounted archery as a druid might not be feasible, and I'll have to abandon the character concept midway through and go for a wild-shaping melee kinda thing. Nexaduro
Retech, I don't think that's what he meant by fitting your character. EDIT: Grim, just forget it. Retech
I know what he meant, but I am adapting my character to changing times. My character is a mounted druid, so I am doing everything I can to maintain that mounted druidness, even if it requires some modifications in the tactics of my character. If that's using a Roc (which is a perfectly viable choice as a druid) instead of a horse at seventh level, then that is alright by me. As for the elven spiked chain, it was originally a Drow weapon, but several people urged me to switch to a regular elf (so not to get the group hated by everyone as we passed by), so I asked if I could keep one of the Drow weapons but have it as an Elven weapon. --- Animal companions are a class feature, hence why I chose druid in the first place.
